50 Kph in a KAYAK, with added bounce,

- Trying some speed tests,
I managed 50kph for a couple of moments and given that the batteries are a bit old and there's a camera hanging off the side, it's a great result,
I've extended the ride plate for the next time out to hopefully stop the bounce
and it could give us a few more clicks on the speedo,
acceleration and response has improved a bit too at mid to top end,
so the new impellor to nozzle match-up looks like a keeper,
sorry for not replying to comments to the last video,
I've been very busy with a single and this two drive set up,
hope to get out again in the next few days and maybe clock my fastest
speed ever,
Have a great night mates and all the very best

Great job.
Thanks Sam, I've got it set up with a slightly longer ride plate for next time,
I need to stop the bouncing, it's like riding a horse :)
I hope you and the lad are rockin mate,
Cheers
Mark
This video has made me come to realize that I'm not the only kid trapped in a mans body. 🤣💦Awesome!!! I 👉💙 IT!💥
it's when they start identifying as a grown-ups the problems start :)
Have a top night mate and Cheers,
Yep noted 50kmh at 7:45min. The speed looks good on that stretch of water! Some dial in adjustable trim tabs would be nice if the CG is already at it's best.
your comment and jimmy creeks got me looking at my seat in a freezing shed at 1.30am the other night,
happy to say the seat had another click on it to go forwards and shift the COG,
the boat has a better attitude at taking off and better for spins but seem a
little nose heavy and looses its stability when bobbing about with the power off,
I'll drill some new hole and move the seat back half a click and see if I can live with it,
Cheers for the memory jog mate, Have a smashing night,
Mark
how long runtime do you get? looks epic mate!
Thanks a bunch Kevin,
I don't have any new numbers yet for this set up but
I get half an hours run time and could have a quarter+ left in the packs,
from some old numbers I was pulling about 40amps from each drive and
touching just over 30kph, the motors are rated at 120 amp max but the amps
are up and down, I'm using an 18Ah battery pack for each drive,
I'm using the minimum amount of batteries due to the boat being a bit
on the small size, a slightly bigger boat would give some better results
at cursing speeds and run times,
Have a great day mate and thanks again
Cheers
Mark
Jets are finicky things. The bounce has to do with a hull never intended to remain sucked to the water at speed. The intake lip or loader will be key to stopping the bounce but good luck finding the proper shape for such a short hull. I'd stick a chopper out the back, go twice as fast and be done.
yes the boat is a bit of a tricky little log to get right, but I've had some nice results in the past so it should be possible, having your chopper hanging out over jumps can be a bit risky, don't forget to lift it up :)
Cheers mate
Nice one Mark.
The bouncing is called "porpoising". You need more trim to fix it. (according to my dad)
(*edit. Changed: proposing to: porpoising. *autocorrect)
Soon it will be summer again :-)
Could just shift the seat position in the playboat.
Hey Kian, long time no see! Did you mean "Porpoising"? Yes, indeed Mark mentioned he tweaked his ride-plate this time, which changed the behaviour while planing, I have my trust in Mark he's the father of jet's :-)
@@Eden_M Yes. I meant "Porpoising". Its my stupid autocorrect who changed it.
And yes. Long time no see. I'm now totally into eFoiling. My dad and I have build 5 now, and number 6 is on its way!
I still ride my jetboard, but only when we have a lot of pondweed on the lake. Pondweed is a killer for any type of foiling!
@@iamkian Yeah your propeller probably getting tangled up constantly scary stuff, but good thing you're still enjoying your jetboard, be safe buddy!
@@Eden_M It's actually the mast, wing and stabilizer what gets tangled up with long stings of weed pond. 🤙
I think an electric adjustable trim kit or trim tabs would help
Thanks mate, yes they will change the attitude of the boat but they will increase drag a little bit, and would snag on the shallows on all the bricks :)
I've had it out again since and it's getting better,
Have a smashing night and Cheers bud :)
Hey youngster jets, I have some powerful brushless motors and few jet pumps that you can implement into your project.
What sort of pumps are they out of curiosity?
Hi There rostravelventure, Thank you very much that is the most super-mega offer I've heard in a very long time, , you stunned me for a couple of days with it :)
I would love to have a tinker with a more powerful setup but I have to
stick with the 52mm jet-units at the moment and pull some cash in off them
before I can tackle that one, Thanks again mate for a wondaful gesture,
You Rock !!
Please teach me how to do this I’ve emailed you pleaseeeeeeee
