This video talks about how a power electronics converter converts ac to dc, power electronics converter consists of electronic switches which operate at high speed like diode SCR MOSFET GTO IGBT.
When we convert ac to dc from diode, we get only single directional dc supply which has lot of harmonics filter used to convert this dc into pure dc.

Sir, converter and rectifier are almost the same devices and inverter is different from both of these..The device which is used in our homes is basically inverter, it is called so because it's main function is to convert DC to AC when there is power outage...it also works as a converter when electricity is available but it is called inverter...and nice info btw 👍

Question - How do I measure on multi meter the output voltage from circuit seen from 2007, that was secondary side of DC to 120V AC 60 cycles Inverter with one diode connected on each line of secondary, that has the diodes reversed, as cathode out and anode out. (opposite polarity) This went to resistor and inductor as load. This is not clipper circuit or misprint of diagram. Originator may have been thinking about reverse higher voltage protection . Is this reading on meter as AC voltage or DC voltage output, as each position on meter has different reading.

Question? - I have circuit diagram from 2005-2008. It has DC to AC Inverter of 120v AC output hooked with diode on each secondary line , that is reversed polarity .( Both different) one way , then other way. My test meter reads both on AC and DC . How do I get proper reading across load resistor on multi meter? This is not supposed to be clipping circuit of very low voltage. Circuit load on paper was inductor coil, diodes and and resistor.

Unusual rectification on output of 120Vac inverter. How do I set multimeter to measure output voltage ? Is this AC or DC ? 2 secondary diodes are reversed on schematic from 2005. Anode facing on one line, and other diode is cathode facing out on other line. Is this still AC out or half wave DC measurment? With resistor set as a load, meter measures in both positions. Which is correct? Was the original builder attempting for reverse voltage protection?
If you measure DC then set the multimeter knob to DC voltage
Rectifier output Is DC voltage & Inverter Output Is AC so you can set multimeter knob according to output
