I totally agree with you, I like that Kosas is a clean beauty brand but it's really hard to find influencers with tan or even darker skin tones reviewing clean beauty brands due to the lack of diversity and honestly shade range is limited in most clean beauty brands. You have the same skin tone as I do, so you're like the only one I know of that's reviewing clean beauty products repping for the peeps in the medium tan section :)
You’re the best. Thank you SO much for supporting my video. I was super nervous to share negative and controversial feedback but I’ve gotten nothing but love. It really encourages me to keep calling brands out when I see something wrong.
I felt the SAME way about who they chose to collab with, I’m probably around a shade 3-4 and I had a hard time finding people who have a skin tone like mine. That’s why I was so excited to see you were reviewing it! It’s so important to not only carry deep skin tones but also pay and support creators who wear the deep shades! Definitely lifting an eyebrow. I think I’ll email the company too.
Julia, did you watch Kait’s video? I think you’d love it if you haven’t already! It’s amazing and she talked about this in her video and their choice of marketing on their social media pages. It was interesting. I think an email would be beneficial for the company and it’s consumers! Companies should always be looking for ways they can improve and reach a wider audience bc right now it feels a bit limiting.
YES!!!!!! omg CALL THEM OUT 👏🏾👏🏾 i feel like that was my first question to you was if you knew about their shade range, hahahahaha. so thank u!!! also this look is amazing, you killed it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Such a good point about the sponsored content, all the videos (including mine) are all within a similar shade range. We need more inclusive reviews! Also i thought I was crazy for being the only one who experienced a little creasing with this. Nothing crazy but still there!
I discovered Kosas about 3 years ago when I switched to “clean beauty” but something about this brand has always made me a little uncomfortable. I’m a Latina and I’m so glad I found your channel so I can see what the colors look like on someone like me!!!! Keep making content like this, you are going places! 💖 oh my IG handle is Twospoons2014
Love your wear test! I just did a comparison of the kosas tinted face oil and concealer versus the ilia skin tint and concealer. Thank you for pointing out the shade range issue, as someone with a lighter skin tone, videos like these remind me to check my privilege and keep that in mind for my viewers 💞
I’m really glad you spoke up about the promotion of the concealer! They def chose a homogenous set of women to debut the concealer. It looks beautiful on you!! Mazel Tov ♥️
Thank you so much for speaking up on the sponsorship.. there's literally no one my shade whom i can find a review for it when It came out. 💕 love your videos💕
Uggghhh I miss you!!! I use to watch your makeup tutorial videos during my high school days to see if Glossier was worth the hype or not! Now I’m trying to see if this concealer is the hype and I remember you are always close to my complexion too! You always help me out!!! 🥺💖
Aw thank you! I still really enjoy this concealer. I’m on a no buy this year and it was one of VERY few products I’ll be allowing myself to repurchase this year :)
Omg YES CHESSIE! Excited for you to get to 10k too! I love your videos so much, you always recommend shades and formulas I fall in love with. And I feel like so many of your looks look even better during the check in! You can really see how everything has sunk in and melded throughout the day 😍 that’s a look I like too.
god im so glad ur speaking up abt this, its so nice to see that youre already using your platform for good it makes me proud to be subscribed to u also unrelated but i saved up money and bought the glossier cloud paint duo in dusk and storm and oh my GOD u were right theyre gorgeous both mixed and individually
I literally just found your channel last night and I’ve been binge-watching all night and day! I’m so happy you made a video about Kosas. I got one sample of the concealer in 5.5 and I think I’m gonna get it. Cause I usually have to color correct but the pigment on this thing is so nice that I don’t have to. Finally!!!! But I really want to try their cheek duos and glosses!
I would love it if you did a full face of “too faced” brand 💓 I don’t comment on UA-cam videos but it’s really refreshing seeing someone who does makeup looks that I personally like doing as well like your holy grail products video. I have been binge watching your videos today and subscribed! I love how you do the full face videos of different products and also how you do the wear test after too. Thank you💕
Loved this Video and I’m on the same boat of wondering why they didn’t send darker shades to medium-darker skin tones .... 😕 brands really need to get it together with inclusivity.
This is why your channel is so special. There aren't a lot of non shade 1,2,3-ers on UA-cam. You know a lot of poc grow up wishing they were blonde, blue-eyed, etc because that is constantly what is shown as "beautiful" in the media, movies, tv shows, whatever. I hope a lot more girls with different backgrounds have the notion of having a place in the beauty industry like you do. Even when I think of changing up my hair..when I go to hairstylist ig pages its usually showing a collage of blonde blends..I rarely see brunettes on pages lol. You are so beautiful and show the world that beauty comes in different shades. I've been a fan since the first video I've watched, keep doing you. ig: sarah.a.sen
Thank you so much for your comment♥️ I felt that way growing up, wishing I was white and blonde. I learned to love my skin and brown hair and seeing comments like these bring tears to my eyes. I wish I had someone that looked like me in media growing up and the fact that I can be that for woman means the world to me. Thank you Sarah!
Thank you for pointing this out Chessie. Literally Kosas needs to get it together. I remember when they came out with their nude lipstick in Vegas they only showed the color on white girls, like the first post they did was with a white girl and then the next post featuring the lipstick was with another white girl. I ended up commenting because I was like it’s 2019 and you guys are seriously not going to feature someone with a darker skin tone wearing your nude new lipstick that claimed to work with all skin tones? 🙄 They did end up responding and showing the lipstick on a brown girl thank goodness. But the fact that someone had to point that out to them blew my mind. They didn’t even say, “oh we were actually already planning on doing that.” Also worth noting Sheena, the person behind the brand is a woman of color so the fact she is primarily catering to lighter skin tones is so dumb.
I commented on Kosas’s account and told them to check out your video. Hopefully they do and become more inclusive but 🤷🏽♀️ Also my Instagram is sarahcamador
You look aaah-mazing with fahrenheit and globe on your lids though! I really enjoy more nuanced reviews on beauty releases and so I loved Kait's video. I think it's so important to encourage critical thinking, it helps us all make more conscious choices and in 2020 WE NEED THAT!
Hi there. I’m super late in commenting, but just came across this video. Just FYI re: the reviews for the lighter shades, I think it might be because there were a lot of comments that the fair/light shades in the original range were to dark or yellow. I watched a lot of videos where paler people needed lighter shades and also neutral or more pink/peach undertones. So I think that’s maybe why Kosas had a lot of people review the extended shades that came out.
i just bought two kosas blushes i got velvet melon and tropic equinox for 52€ instead of 68€ including taxes and the 20€ shipping fee, kosas made one blush 19€ and i think it's only today
I really liked this wear test video because you added some thoughts on their advertising and sponsorships and I'm a big fan of the brand bc of their clean beauty(even tho its a little too pricey imo...) but them doing stuff like that is really disheartening and also doesn't make any sense from any point of view like wouldn't you want more than just viewers who can wear shades 1 and 2 to try your products and get influenced by people reviewing them? idk just confuses me how almost every brand just ignores darker-skinned people in some way shape or form. Also I just picked up the eyeshadow in waterfall and i love it! so cute and easy to apply bc i like using my hands for stuff
I have actually been applying my Kosas face oil with a big dense buffing brush lately and it’s been working really well! I used to use a smaller brush and would get streaks, but the bigger one seems to do the trick :) @melaniemerkosky
i watch your videos everyday since i subscribed to your channel because i love that you prefer to do an everyday makeups than a striking look because im really into learning how to achieve no makeup makeup look for the day to day basis since im really new to it. really in love with the outcome of this makeup look and i personally think that the checked in was totally fine. please continue doing videos like this, i really love it! @twentythirdgal on insta and twitter :D
yeahhhh i noticed that the people reviewing the kosas concealer were all 🤍🤍🤍 shades, so i didn’t even want to check it out even tho the packaging and claims are awesome. glad i got to see it on you! @theemangoqueen
I discovered Kosas last year and to my surprise, really enjoy quite a few products but I do think their shade range needs work. It’s so helpful to have people with a med-deeper skin tone reviewing clean beauty, but very hard to come by, so I appreciate a lot of your videos for this reason. Also, I have been searching for that RT brush EVERYWHERE and found it on Walmart’s website. It’s also on Amazon but repackaged with different colored handles!! My IG is @anelasundaze
the products look so beautiful but i really dislike what you said about them and their advertising. the fact that that is still happening in freaking 2020 is so ridiculous to me. i love that you brought awareness to this issue without being super harsh as a member of the colored skin community. i also wanted to add that until i started watching your vids, i didn’t realize a) that cream products are SUPERIOR and b) how important family is bc i will be going to college soon and i want to spend as much time as possible before i go. so thank you and ilysm ur my fav youtuber
My everyday lip product would be lip oils since they're so light and leave a subtle tint and these kosas ones look stunning! Really admiring the tinted face oil on you too, it gives you such a nice glow 💖 @henanawabi
i am obsessed with how the base is looking! it’s unfortunate that the shadows creased. i am so happy with this new lip oil trend cause it’s nourishing AND cute. no dry lips 2020 people!! @liz_ferdinand
I hope I get to try Kosas! The only natural-looking makeup I've tried are Glossier's Dusk Cloud Paint and Milk Makeup's Baked Matte Bronzer @trinaphann
Even though living in a humid climate, cream products have been my jam recently. They just make you have that lit within glow and sometimes I just don't want to do a full face of makeup. And with summer right around the corner, corals and oranges are so much fun! Ig: alwaysmunoz
Thank you for testing out the concealer! It was nice to see it tested on a darker skin tone. Loving living vicariously through your London stories right now :p @jessclog
I’ve got to agree with you on the diversity aspect.. I legit kept scrolling to find someone with just even the slightest skin tone as me, and I just couldn’t find anyone when it first came out.
I agree with you about the shade range, I would like to have seen more darker shades being used at launch because they have many darker shades in the line. But you have convinced me that I need the cream blush and highlight duo. 🤩 ig: @annoyingangelina
I am so happy I found your UA-cam channel! Love your videos and I find most helpful. I am have been wanting to try Kosas for a while and just more of clean beauty. Kosas is definitely a brand that focuses on skin being skin makeup and I love that kind of look. @itssimplyskincare good luck to all!
Hey!! I never comment so I’m sorry if this is weird lol. I really enjoy your reviews and I was super hyped to see you made this! I’ve been dancing around the idea of buying the kosas tinted face oil, so the fact that they came out with a concealer is super interesting to me. I think it looks great, but I’ve noticed a ton of brand have all been coming out with the same kind of formula lately? High coverage with a chunky wand. I don’t mind it but I find myself wishing we had more consistencies like the stretch concealer! Thanks for taking the time to make these in depth reviews. You’re my favorite lol. My IG handle is @hydrats :)
Thank you so much for reviewing this bec 1.) we are twin-tones, 2.) yes, completely agree on the lack of diversity in showcasing this concealer since it sounded so promising and 3.) you're fabulous in every way!I was hoping to pick this up for my birthday this month but my local sephora is so unhelpful when it comes to new launches and shade matching. I wish Kosas was sold at Ulta bec the employees there are much more helpful. 🤎For us browner makeup lovers, diverse content creators are our best hope, therefore we should support them as much as we can. 😐 I would love to enter this giveaway (@rewindmy_mixtapes). p.s. you've really helped me step up my blush and eyeshadow game :)
That’s usually the problem with clean beauty brands even kosas: the shade range is just not that impressive but I do like the brand overall it’s funny though how every eyeshadow creases on me EXCEPT these kosas pigments 🤷🏻♀️ IG: @shiizzaa
The products look so good on you!! I chuckled in the beginning because you said “quesos” I was like cheeese? Lol (queso is cheese in Spanish) but my insta handle is @the.dr.meli I’ve been eyeing that cream blush duo I’m such a sucker for cream products!
I totally feel the same way about how Kosas went about the collabs. Pretty much everyone I watched either wore shade 1 or 2 and in the Kosas tinted face oil I wear a 3.5-4. Also 16 shades is definitely not enough for a full coverage concealer! Love your videos! insta- @curly.n
Who brands choose to promote through makes me think about whether or not I want to support them. I’m too old to be playing brands’ stupid games with their small complexion shade ranges and makeup colors that look ashhyyy on any skin tone deeper than light medium / medium 😠. I had wanted to try some of their stuff but maybe not ...
Yay following on IG now too (@thorndykelaw). Like your reviews lots, esp the detail and comparisons to other products❤️ you're my go to for anything Glossier and Kosas👍
honestly I feel like it’s so difficult to find brands that genuinely have a diverse range of people who do paid promotions for them and it’s an issue that brands should 100% be called out for. during your check-in, your skin looked so so so beautiful and dewy and healthy! i’ve been convinced to buy the tinted skin oil. ig: emily.titty
The Skin oil looked absolutely beautiful and radiant on your skin! Also, I love how you incorporated dupes for different brushes that can be used to apply a the cream products. I love the final look! I really think you’d love the new elf hydrating camo concealers! I’d love to see a review on those and the new bite size beauty eyeshadow palettes in the future! IG: @ce0ra
I always wanted to try Kosas, I love the “natural” makeup! Plus my little brother ruined the glossier cloud paint I JUST bought like 2 weeks ago :( I love your videos so much 🤍 @jaasmendozaa
I love the fact that ur doing these giveaways so often because I gave up buying makeup for lent so here’s me, HOPING I get one of them 😂😂 love ur videos 💕 @isbethpretty
thank you for doing this video chessie! always wanted to try kosas but with the whole marketing and lack of diversity makes me question purchasing their products. the look is popppinnn as always tho!! @lalalaerika
Not just natural makeup brands but just makeup in generaly be doing darker skin girls wrong. Like what is this 8 different shades of white but just one tan shade and one dark shade. Anyways you finally gave me that push to buy a kosas blush especially since it's on sale now! Can't waittttt. Imma let my wallet take a breather before I try other stuff tho 😅 @dianairisslothsgeorgia
Thanks for another great video! I also love the lidstars cause they don’t crease or slide 😭 n if you know Beyoncé wears them, they’re good haha. Also glossier related I got the terra and echo skywash combo cause of your color combo vid! Ig: @gilmabernal
Mahalo for the thorough review & the amazing giveaway opportunity! Do you prefer the Kosas or Glossier concealer? I’m also following you IG (@meeknesthawaii). Hope you had fun in London! 💙💚
yes I know I say kasos ONE TIME in the beginning. I listened to myself a million times while editing. Pls leave me alone lmao
lollllllll
Girl you said quesos and that is cheese in Spanish 😂😂, love the review btw helped me find my shade❤

Agree with the influencers used to promote where on the lighter skin tone side. 🤷🏽♀️
Odry Southerland It’s not even hard to have someone w a medium skin tone to promote. :/ It’s off putting
kosas is a great brand overall but diversity seems to be a massive problem with clean / no-makeup makeup beauty brands.
YES!!!!!! omg CALL THEM OUT 👏🏾👏🏾
i feel like that was my first question to you was if you knew about their shade range, hahahahaha. so thank u!!!
also this look is amazing, you killed it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Could you do a half glossier half kosas makeup look? Would like to see how the two compare! ☺️
These tones look so flattering on you! It’s unreal
god im so glad ur speaking up abt this, its so nice to see that youre already using your platform for good it makes me proud to be subscribed to u
also unrelated but i saved up money and bought the glossier cloud paint duo in dusk and storm and oh my GOD u were right theyre gorgeous both mixed and individually
oh man i commented before the video ended but my insta is r.eemalj !! i really dont use it much i hope thats fine
I want to try Kosas products. I feel like they have a similar vibe to glossier but a little bit more of a makeup look too.
Finally!!!!

I have been binge watching your videos today and subscribed! I love how you do the full face videos of different products and also how you do the wear test after too. Thank you💕
This was my first full video of yours I watched after being subscribed for a while. I'll be continuing to watch!! Sweet review. 🥰
Oh my IG handle is @fakebutokay lol
Does the color and light palette expire quickly? Since it doesn’t have preservatives...
Girl, thanks for this video! I was having a hard time picking my shade in the concealers
Loved this Video and I’m on the same boat of wondering why they didn’t send darker shades to medium-darker skin tones .... 😕 brands really need to get it together with inclusivity.
It may be a long shot when you mentioned tiffany and Vegas and totally freaked because that’s me 😂♥️♥️♥️ love you!!
This look is everything! Your skin in the evening light is so pretty omg! Love Kosas products and that you pointed out the launch collab issue
Hii! What brush did you use to apply the cream eyeshadow? Thanksss

I need to try the oil skin tint!! 💕💕
Can you review the new ilia skin tint next and compare it to glossier’s skin tint?
You look aaah-mazing with fahrenheit and globe on your lids though! I really enjoy more nuanced reviews on beauty releases and so I loved Kait's video. I think it's so important to encourage critical thinking, it helps us all make more conscious choices and in 2020 WE NEED THAT!
this video made me want to buy the tinted face oil sooo bad. it looks amazing.
Hi!
What brush did you use for your face powder?
Hi there. I’m super late in commenting, but just came across this video. Skin looking beautiful 🧡 Need that Jellyfish lip oil 💗
Are you going to try their new baked bronzer?
I have no current plans to!
True about the influencers who came out to review...ps the eyeshadows look so good on you
Oh my instagram acct sra_diazzz
Did you get new foundation? You have a video?
will u start linking the amazing brushes u use as well????Also I just found your page like 2 hours ago so hey girl hey I'm a new subby
Hi! Is the giveaway domestic or open internationally? 🥰🥰
Does the lip oil last at all? I’ve been wanting to try it out but I want my gloss to last (like my glossier gloss) so I’ve held out
It’s much more long lasting than a lip oil but a little less than a lip gloss. A perfect in between but more lip gloss like
It’s not sticky like the glossier gloss!
@@chessiedomrongchai AH amazing. Thank you, queen! 💖
oooh im early! and your final look is really pretty the tones really suit you!
I loved how this look turned out :)
I'm going to pronounce it as Kaysos now. Your product reviews are my type I'd choose but your personality is what got me to subscribe.
I have actually been applying my Kosas face oil with a big dense buffing brush lately and it’s been working really well! I used to use a smaller brush and would get streaks, but the bigger one seems to do the trick :) @melaniemerkosky
Love your honesty!!

I would love to enter this giveaway (@rewindmy_mixtapes).
p.s. you've really helped me step up my blush and eyeshadow game :)
That’s usually the problem with clean beauty brands even kosas: the shade range is just not that impressive but I do like the brand overall it’s funny though how every eyeshadow creases on me EXCEPT these kosas pigments 🤷🏻♀️

@natural_kath Quite a few things from Kosas I want to try - including their cream highlighters! Thank you for the giveaway.
The products look so good on you!! I chuckled in the beginning because you said “quesos” I was like cheeese? Lol (queso is cheese in Spanish) but my insta handle is @the.dr.meli I’ve been eyeing that cream blush duo I’m such a sucker for cream products!
This look is gorggg
@juliacunningham__
Love how the face turned out omg! @missbrookepintaa ❤️
girl I feel you on the painful pimple- i have one on my nose !!! 😫😫😫 @thelazy.rose ❤️❤️❤️
Loved the tinted oil😍😍😍 ig: arnakshik
Been dying to try the Kosa blushes and lip oils! Love the vid
i'm glad i wasn't the only one who saw only white or white passing influencers using the product
and my ig is @kittendeni
thank you!
Yay following on IG now too (@thorndykelaw). Like your reviews lots, esp the detail and comparisons to other products❤️ you're my go to for anything Glossier and Kosas👍
Hi! Loved this video❤️❤️❤️
honestly I feel like it’s so difficult to find brands that genuinely have a diverse range of people who do paid promotions for them and it’s an issue that brands should 100% be called out for. during your check-in, your skin looked so so so beautiful and dewy and healthy! i’ve been convinced to buy the tinted skin oil. ig: emily.titty

Imma let my wallet take a breather before I try other stuff tho 😅
@dianairisslothsgeorgia
Thanks for another great video! I also love the lidstars cause they don’t crease or slide 😭 n if you know Beyoncé wears them, they’re good haha. Also glossier related I got the terra and echo skywash combo cause of your color combo vid! Ig: @gilmabernal
I just bought the cream blush in Velvet Melon and I'm in love! Helios is next on my list! ig: @ba.nanamoon
