It's pretty nice that the builders could move such large components around at the end of the build as needed without compromising the usability of any parts of the yacht. Great that it's all working out.
Must say I keep being impressed by how fantastic the boat and its finishing looks.
Is it correct to describe a big cat as yar? If so she definitely looks to qualify. Following seas!

Love your show, never miss an episode. But the new boat is a barge with sails. It’ll be great for parties but I can’t imagine the sailing experience being memorable. All those batteries and electronics bouncing around at sea could be dangerous. The problems will be entertaining as long as no one doesn’t get hurt.

Congratulations on the boat. Like the office space. I would check if the batteries are lithium phosphate/Lifepo4. I think they are safer and last longer. Even then, you might only get 10 years after loosing some capacity. Can't imaging moving/changing one of those batteries inside a boat without damaging something. Looking forward to following the channel to see this new electric cat perform.

I agree. He said his house bank was lithium ion. I’m hoping it’s a high quality version as a battery fire out wide would be a disaster.

Seems like there’d be no downside to connecting the house and motor battery banks, at least with a manual switch. That way you could charge the big batteries if at anchor for days or use the motor batteries to extend the house bank

Tesla’s use around 3 different types of batteries. The most current one is the 4680 (46mm wide X 80mm long). The battery chemistry is changing yearly. The Tesla batteries are cocooned and heated/cooled thru highly engineered systems.

I’m thinking about buying one of these and I’ve watched all of your videos. Working with the salesman and Philip Winter I keep going round and round trying to figure out what is included in a stock 525E versus your version. I intend to do a five cabin or a modified five cabin. But you have a lot of things on your boat such as the furling mask which I do not want, but perhaps I want the bow sprit for a head sale or the hydraulic lift for a dinghy. I’m not sure I’m just trying to give them to tell me what from your videos is extra versus what on your boat was an add-on maybe you can help me with that because I’ve asked them several times and I’m not really getting the answer. I’m looking for.

No for both of you question. The solar is not connected to the motor batteries and no regen charging on the way, you need to use the diesel generator for that.

A cycle is discharged from full to empty then recharged to full again. Most users don't do that but go from 80% to 20% and back again which is 0.6 cycles, obviously.

I would be very concerned if you were out in the open ocean and the batteries were in contact with salt water

I.E. what brand is the 480 volt battery, what is its technology. Also cheap chinese components with poor quality. Too many unknowns.

I'm baffled at the mis information on lithium batteries. I have had lithium ferrious iron batteries since 2012 I use them full time for 6 months of the year. I have solar and alternator charging, seldom do I need a generator or shore power charging. I mean maybe 2-3 times in a year. My BMS records cycles on the batteries, now 14 years later it has 25 cycles on batteries listed for 2000 cycles. By that math they should last 960 years. As of now there is less than 5 % degregation . I will NEVER have to replace them. 5 years ago I changed all starter batteries in my vehicles to liph04 and will NEVER have to change them out again. Opposed to having every 4 years with AGM . Also lithium is now ONE HALF THE PRICE IF AGM AND TWICE THE POWER, and RECHARGE 4 TUMES FASTER, meaning solar is 4 time quicker to recharge lithium than AGM. Also they are 1/4 the weight of agm, THEY ALSO CANNOT CATCH 🔥 FIRE, Unlike lithium ion, which are the ones that catch fire, with incorrect charging or shorting out. I'm really looking forward to the sea trials, and live aboard video's . CHEERS AND FAIR WINDS. Steve h.

I’m not even clear how many batteries and solar power spec version comes with. I think it comes with the 210 kilowatt hour drive battery and 1000 amp 24 V battery but I’m not entirely sure. Plus they say it comes with eight 270 W solar panels, but your boat obviously has more than that And yours may be more powerful because 270×8 is only about 2100 W
