He was part of the singing group called “The Temptations.”
This was his Biggest Solo Song after being Fired from The Temptations in 1968 for his Ego. Sadly enough he battled financial problems, prison, drugs and even worked as a Carpenter when times got tough. He also worked along with Eddie Kendricks with Daryl Hall & John Oates who were die hard Motown Fans.

Indeed David had one of the best voices. I am absolutely mesmerized listening to his mellifluous voice. My favorite songs are the solo performances after he left the Temptations. David was the man!!! Back in the 60’s with the Temptations, but I like his solo stuff too. Definitely a great singer of soul. Detroit talent was no joke in those days. It was raw and honest for good or bad, just like Detroit...
But David was from Mississippi. Many of the Northern and Western singers were originally, of course, from the South.

Speak your truth. So true. Music back in the days was from the soul. Artists were soul creators with their God given gifts. Artists sung about love, heartbreaks, life experiences, hurt, tears, joy and happiness. Music back in the days would have you in your feelings. You could feel those words. You would become all emotional in some kind of way.🙂

Well I agree about today music there are small percentage of stuff that is good you have to search for good music but overall yea the music lack of soul it’s repetitive everyone sound alike. There is so much music out there that you don’t know that exist it’s good to see the youngins discover and expand the ears. Because this generation only stick to a certain genre of music
