I was dealing with the passing of my Beloved Momma in 2009. I went through months of being unable to sleep . As if by divine intervention, I stumbled across the Late Late Show with my Sweet Craig Ferguson. He literally made me laugh out loud before that was a saying. His laughter and genuine personality made you fall instantly in love with him. When he announced the ending of his show, it was absolutely devastating. He had gotten me through those dark days of grief and I still wanted his laughter in my life. Thanks UA-cam for allowing me to watch his reruns and once again "LAUGH OUT LOUD " Love and Miss You my Dear Friend, Craigy Ferg ❤❤❤❤

Craig's so-called interview is really just like a daily conversation in a pub, very natural, relax and genuine. And you can't talk about the success of Craig Ferguson's TLLS without mention Josh Robert Thompson, who not only is the voice of Geoff Peterson but also did the voice impersonation of some celebrities like Morgan Freeman. These two are amazing.

You put a bit of a tear in my eye dude. I discovered Craig's show through clips on UA-cam during 2020 and during that insanity, loneliness (I live in a different country from my family) and uncertainty, this wacky and totally wonderful show made me cry laughing when I really needed it most. Yep, at the time Jay Leno Fly started his channel (with all the compilations) I stumbled upon the madness of the Late Late Show.
I then rewatched everything that was available during a period where I was (in hindsight) battling a crippling depression. I'm pretty sure there's dozens of days where Craig and Geoff saved my life with their ever so repeating antics.
      Learned a lot, laughed a lot...lived.

I still rewatch his stuff and I actually sight him as a reason in my darkest last 7 days before getting sober from alcohol - his speech about his honesty before he got sober lead me who is someone very much like him in temperament to finally accept who I was, be ok with it, accept that I have short falls in the darkest places in my life and just pt my hand up and say "Yes, I struggle, im broke and im not fixed but right now im getting better".
I might never meet him but thanks Craig, honestly.
Sober since 08/11/2019 - Now studying pre-med to be a doctor - regularly see and use psychology and philosophy to keep myself honest and in check but mostly im thankful everyday now. Every - Day - Now.

He finds humour in most things and can effortlessly slip that into normal human conversation putting his audience and guests comfortably at ease. He doesn't talk down to us and can also find empathy with average audience members. Britney Spears was NOT a surprise to me at ALL!!!!!, I've seen internet threads deconstructing how to speak to the opposite sex WITH EASE !!! Turing his interviews into MASTERCLASSES in how to speak to the opposite sex.
......... and The ladies seem to love it!

Maybe not late night was changed but I think the culture of media has changed a lot in the direction ever since his Britney Spears monologue, and it was the seed of online entertainment in terms of podcasts, in that way he's a pioneer of sincere modern media on an outdated platform on late night

Craig is the best talk show host ever. He did things in a different way because he is a comedian who needed to enojoy himself all the timeand he has said a couple of times that he found boring sometimes the regularity of lat night shows, thats why he came out with some original ideas like the talking puppets, the robot skeleton as his sidekick, the musical bits, the intro talking to the audience. All that with no band and no buget compared to other late night hots. And plus, he was certaintly the best conversationalist. He barely talked about what the guest went to promote, he just had a natural conversation with them, which is always refreshing. Anyway, i love him, i hope to go see him live soon, he's doing an stand up tour right now :)

To simply be a revolutionary is to swim a different direction, that does not mean that you will succeed in getting the other fish to follow.
To start a revolution is not necessarily as seamless process. When Mark's thought about changes to pure capitalism and invented socialism it was not a direct and immediate change nor was it a success, but it did change the world significantly .
The true revolution was in the subtle changes that those thoughts led to. Things such as caring for your employees having safe workplaces, and as necessary having government or other social organizations compel those changes.
Thus we have the socialism of social security insurance, the security of having emergency hospital services available to all, the general insistence that we recognize when society or government fails to protect people who are unable and not empowered to help themselves.
Therefore as setting a sterling example of how you can have a good show without the smarmy obsequious banter and cloying kiss ass of the standards, you can have for a brief moment at least a stellar example of how to do different, or shall we say, better.

    • @mookie7688

What's worth noting, and Craig has explained it many times in interviews, is that he was in a unique position in TV history. Letterman owned the time slot that followed his show, and Craig worked for Letterman, not for CBS. As long as Letterman liked what he was doing, he could do whatever the hell he wanted. No other talk show is in that position, so it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

@@peterbarnes3121 My point is that to "change something forever" includes the time immediately after. There's no period where nothing has changed because the time immediately after is included in "forever". Think of the old usages: "forever afterwards" or "forevermore".

The real truth about Ferguson's 'Late Late Show' is that he got a blank check to do whatever he wanted because David Letterman got to decide what kind of a show follwed his Late Show, and he liked Craig. Without Letterman we would never have had Craig
