If a nerve is impacted, individuals may also experience sensations of numbness or tingling that may radiate down the arms or legs.
Disc Herniation, also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, occurs when the nucleus pulposus breaches the annulus fibrosus, exerting pressure on adjacent nerves. This condition is frequently associated with wear and tear due to aging, or abrupt spinal stress or injury. Those affected by disc herniation may encounter sharp, shooting pain in the affected region, as well as potential sensations of numbness or weakness in the arms or legs if a nerve is compromised.
