If you do a possible 2nd season of the expansion series, my feedback would be: For every set that has a kinda special set of legendaries (hero cards, quests, legendary spells, etc) it would be cool if you could find a way to make sure both you and ecore get one death knight hero card, one un goro quest each, etc. Those expansions are simply not the same without them, and ungoro without a single quest and frozen throne without a single death knight was rip. For frozen throne, you could each play the prologue to get a free one, and for apart from that, you could just spin a wheel with all the legendary quests, hero cards, etc whatever that expansion's theme was before opening the packs. Would add a lot to the nostalgia to see death knights etc. Idk what to do about adventures but I'd love if there was a way to incorporate adventure cards as well, maybe spin a wheel to get a random legendary and so on from each adventure? Obviously it's a huge advantage if one player spins loatheb for example, but that would be the same rng aspect as just one player opening a busted card (cough cough, lich king and kronx) so should be fine imo.
Hey Rarran, wrote you a DM on Twitter! In regards to your challenge (not using abilities). It would boil down to, "Can my 4 Teammates win in a 4vs5 situation". I gotta say, doesn't really sound fun to watch even if you queue with 4 premades. Thanks for the awesome content, always watch your vids while eating o7
I think for a second season of the Expansion series a more structured approach with different events or smth would really add to it. the wheel of crafting was really dope but felt really random because it just came and went :D it's a very cool format "historic sealed only" and if you find a structure w some events happening it would be a banger. Maybe something to further class and deck diversity, I think the way Ecore wants the free win w his gala rogue and you wanting to generate content by bringing a whacky deck is fine. But if you put rules in place to make diversity happen it would streamline it better. Still I watch every episode as soon as they drop. Hope you do a season 2 because I think the premisse is far from worn out. In a way due to the collections being random every time it is repeatable. And if you put more structure and rules in place I think it would be something truly great.
kaycee's mod in inscyption can be activated by pressing shift k m in the menu from what i read, i recall activating it through the steam launch options but that doesn't seem to be the way anymore
you should have a final episode for the expansion series where you just bring one deck for every expansion and the see who gets the most wins, would be hype asf
3:00 magic assuming you went with just arena, would require you to buy cards from the different sets with the first sets release to arena. either build up a collection as you go or, start from first again but you work through set rotation so older card rotate in and out.
magic used to have a format called block/set constructed where you built 60 card decks from either a single set or a few sets from the same "block", a narratively connected series of sets. works pretty well but its fairly expensive on mtg arena.
My suggestion for a 2nd season of Expansion series is to have you host it, instead of playing. So you could put Voxy and CGB to play the series. Idk if that would be possible, but the idea of you hosting and giving a prize for the winner sounds cool :3
The expansion series is one of the best ideas rarran ever had, hope he will do it again with someone else with some adjustments to the rules or maybe some new rules
Dude, during the time it took you to upload part two, I finished Better Call Saul, Rick and Morty season 7, cut contact with all the ladies from the dating site because i figured i need a job first and had an overdue talk with my roomate because i need more space (he has ADHD and is an extrovert). If this doesn't get to 12 wins I'm playing even Warrior. I swear ill do it! And I will blame you for it.
I think you could combine the expansion series idea with your arena auction idea, where every time you open a pack both players see let's say 3/5 or 4/5 cards, and you can bid on whether you want the contents of that pack or you want your opponent to get it. Of course the account the packs aren't on will have to craft that stuff. And then you make decks and duel! This could also just be a standard, non-expansion series idea, simply opening standard packs or something, but damn it I want more expansion series and I hardly think I'm alone in that!!
For league challenges, it is usually focused around weird item builds for challenges. Making a tank go damage, or a dps go tank. Though usually the person just gets fed and whatever stats they get from items allows them to carry in some form or another in these scenarios. However it can lead to some interesting niche builds. I don't know how saturated the market it, I see a few clickbait videos here and there so there's at least a desire to see videos like that. Usually as long as you're in draft or quickplay no one is going to mind a weird build or two. You might even be able to get away with only using auto attacks or abilities. Especially with certain passives and items.
If Rarran made a season 2 of the expansion series, I think there should be a rule for needing to use at least 5 - 10 new cards each episode and some sort of crafting rule should be implemented, maybe for each class loss your get a point and at like 5? points you get to craft a legendary. Makes it so if you get stomped in a episode you get more points towards a legendary but if its a close fight then both get around the same points towards the legendary. Also might balance out the 'rich get richer' scenario of someone winning an episode then carrying those wins forwards with their extra packs each expansion.
I might be too late on this video for you to see this message, but it would be awesome to see a version of the expansion series where a card can only be used a single time in a single deck. This would force you both to play a lot more (unoptimized) decks and play all the classes, it'd also give a bunch of jank ideas more chance to shine, as opposed to weaker versions of meta strategies from across the years. Either way, it's been a great series, thanks man.
Would you be willing to try out Wildfrost? its a single player card game. I've been enjoying your slay the spire content and would love to see you branch out into other single player card games.
I love´d the expansion series hopefully you do a new run. I agree with @meergrad regarding the death knight hero cards but not sure how you would be able to do it if you follow the same rules as before.
I would like it for the new expansion series to just use your account and make it just like Hearthstone theory crafting streams, where you have to use 10 or 12 cards from the expansion. Of course, you can't use cards from future expansion, only before that expansion. Do a ban system too, since you both have all the cards. Make 5 class and let your opponent to ban 2 class.
At the end of the expansion series, you should sit down and figure out what were your MVP cards (ignoring free cards like Galakrond and C'thun). Would be fun to hear that lucky draws you feel like did the most work for you
Revere expansion series? Crafting decks from newest expansion to the oldest, only downside is decks might look similar by the end of such series, but at least half of such series would be a banger because of all the synergies that youd have to adapt in that order
I have really enjoyed the expansion series. Maybe add more card packs and add a rule where at least 2 new decks have to be brought for each new expansion (new decks meaning at least 15 cards are changed out - 15 was just an arbitrary number) Another idea, for each new expansion - you have to play 15 core cards and 15 cards from the expansion. Again, 15 was an arbitrary number haha
It's more expensive, but you could make it so that you make new decks from ONLY the specific expansion, and the packs you get, and then make it like 30 or more packs, and 1 spin on a class wheel for quests, DKs etc. so every gets 1 very important for the expansion legendary in addition guaranteed. Making it a bit more like MTG arena I guess. If that is the case it's likely cheaper to simply use a pack simulator to open packs (if that exists) and use your normal account.
League but you can only auto. Janna top. You still level your abilities for the aa passive. Polypuff made the co-op vs ai video where he couldn't get spotted by the enemy team
Rarran you could do a series where you both spin a wheel of every expansion and you open 20 packs from that expansion and then remove it until no expansions are left. You could make it also to prevent discrepancy by making the lower get to open packs or craft cards from the sets they didn't roll ot even both players so that you are on a more equal footing each episode
Not so much pack, but consider using creatures based on wow locations. For example like eastern plague lands can use things like plagues. Or death knight stuff. Etc
Expansion Series needs some kind of ban option, e.g. you played Sludge Belcher like 5 weeks in a row. Maybe the winner gets extra packs and the loser can ban a card for the next 3 weeks?
Maybe for the second expansion series it would be nice for you to draft cards instead of just opening packs. It would add much more depth and balance in terms of gotten cards
Yea, I think something along the lines of being able to dust some cards for like expansion selling legendries and maybe something like a cool down on decks that win often that way more cards can get used in the pack opening.
Also, I think league arena maybe be a better option for doing challenges in league that would require gimping yourself, I just do not think people would be happy with a challenge thing even if you guys are a 5 stack I could be wrong though.
Rarran You should make video where Each person like Kibler / Day9 / Trump/ Kripp/ etc etc. choose 5 cards to put into your deck of a certain class etc. not knowing what the others gave you and see how it goes.
Dunno if you'll see this but if you're looking for a fun league video, I'd probably watch you playing Ultimate Bravery, can be with full friends or just with randos in an unranked game I guess
you can probably try to play every MTG format possible, and make series base of that. I bet someone could rent you an MTGO account for it. And MTGO also support rent for decks/cards/etc
rarran for a new series you should bring in the wheel in some fashion whether it be what picks the expansion or what rarity of cards you have to include in your deck. Some sort of switch up to the deck building but unlike the challenges with eddy have it be a bit more competitive like the expansion series. Not that i dont like the eddy vids but its nice to have a more competitive 1v1 with ecore
The concepts you're talking about in league do exist. It's mostly people doing off meta picks and builds. Like sivHD braum mid. 10 years ago it was building only rod of ages 6 times and nothing else.
48:50 You have way less competion in the Hearthstone space. You probably would have higher views if you did LoL,but have to work like crazy to break through.
One of my biggest gripes with the expansion series was that it was great at the start when the card pool was relatively small, but watching Galakrond rogue every episode got really old, really fast. My other problem with the expansion series, was not so much the anything to do with the premise, it just became difficult to watch every time Ecore would complain about any minor setback or if you had good rng while still ultimately pulling out a win. That's more of a personal pet peeve of my own because I dislike playing with people like that, and it only made the first point more annoying.
if you are so unhappy and you just want more money and views, just go stream fortnite or minecraft IDK just stop bitching about the game every single day, its becoming kinda annoying ngl
dude i commented it on your other vid where you mentioned bolatro underperforming but i'll say it again. you jumped into the first vid with like 10 hours of playtime under your belt so you were speedrunning shit and i had literally no idea what was going on cos you never paused to read joker or tarot card abilities or explain what you were doing. i think to introduce bolator you need to chill a little and play slower and maybe do an edit to show the card text when you buy something like frost prime does with STS trinkets. so people can actually follow when they havent played.
If you do a possible 2nd season of the expansion series, my feedback would be:

maybe they should have the right to craft atleast one lengendary with dust for expansion.
@@ianmacedo1411 Isn't better to just have a DK wheel with all the heroes and then you spin and land on a random one, and have to build around that?
it's unlikely he'll do it again since it's very expensive
Hey Rarran, wrote you a DM on Twitter!

That is the problem with team based games.
thats my exact thoughts
Rarran uses 12 grain whole wheat bread for his sandwiches as he think people who use white bread are either under 12 or are perpetually 12 years old.

The idea of an Expansion Series for Magic would be genuinely interesting.
The issue would be doing older sets if you intended to draft packs.
The expansion series is one of the best ideas rarran ever had, hope he will do it again with someone else with some adjustments to the rules or maybe some new rules

I would wager making a "was this card Nerfed in standard or not" video with CGB might be similar to the bans in magic... that would be cool :)

regarding the idea of doing an expansion series in different games (particularly magic) could always just do sets that are available on arena :P
I'd love to see another expansion series with Roffle! Whatever you decide to do, please do it with Roffle 🤩

Not so much pack, but consider using creatures based on wow locations. For example like eastern plague lands can use things like plagues. Or death knight stuff. Etc

I love arena, I honestly play ranked to get the gold to play more arena runs.
You should play legends of runeterra rarran it’s good content trust
Maybe redo the expansion series, but with ONLY cards from the expansion in question, not having the need of opening packs.
The answer was no.
You might have a queen in game but your irl live in gf/wife is the real queen.
please invite toast or reynad next! :D
