do you think Xiangling > Bennett in Raiden hyper is viable? I tried using a damage calculator and Raiden (C3 on Catch) basically loses 100k of damage on the initial slash but Xiangling should be able to do 300k with pyronado, assuming Raiden's subsequent slashes are 2/3 of her damage, I guess the damage is still 300k even with Raiden Bennett variation. Chevreuse at C1 would give 6 energy to Xiangling (and all the team basically so you can run more offensive stats) and help with her energy together with Raiden, that's why I thought of it. What do you think?

Chev is foreshadowing of an overload DPS. Clorinde or Arlecchino might end up having her as her best support. Hoyo is prepping the playing field. Very interesting to see where Geo, Overload and Physical move towards for the rest of the 4.0 patches.
Physical will move to a grave, probably. Geo isn’t moving at all, as Navia has basically nothing to do with other geo units, and Chiori most likely won’t change much. And hopefully Clorinde & Arlecchino aren’t just Raiden & Hu Tao powercreep.

you missed the point of her kit... she doesnt buff overload, she uses overload as a trigger for other buffs. the 60% dmg bonus for example does not affect overload damage, it only buffs a character's own damage. and building a character for their own damage (eg crit) is antisynergistic with building for overload (because crit is a dead stat for transformative reactions). you cant have both. the only way for this to work is if a character gets a shit ton of EM buffs either from their own kit or externally (which is not possible in a pyro+electro team), and converts that EM buff to dmg% (like yae miko does). theyve already done this for quicken characters (tighnari, alhaitham, nahida, cyno, yae), but quicken by design benefits from crit stats, so these numbers will have to be even higher for a theoretical overload dps that can benefit fully from chevreuse.
Hoyo finally cracked the code on making 4*s people would want to snipe - have them be decent enough to open up avenues to further team comps. Chevreuse is actually making me wanna risk C1 Yoimiya for her, assuming she's on Yoi and Ei's reruns next patch. It'll be too ideal if she's with Navia.
Very happy as someone who'll be going all in on Raiden. I don't mind waiting for Navia's rerun, but I guess it sucks for people who already have Raiden or just prefer Navia for whatever reason
In a way they've been pretty good at releasing 4*'s that aren't necessarily bad, good, or even necessarily niche, but just interesting or gimmicky enough for people to WANT the character. Chevreusse opens a new playstyle, Freminet has a unique way of dealing his damage, and even characters like Kirara and Charlotte who already cover existing archetypes but just have a rlly silly kit. I can recall almost every new 4* in the past year being a character that people specifically pulled for without any regard for the 5*. I think hoyo has kinda just recognized that people will go for a 4* regardless of how well they perform as long as they're unique and interesting, and they've definitely really nailed it with Chevreusse in particular.
Chevrolet's biggest contribution next to allowing some teams to escape Bennett'a circle impact is allowing us to not have to keep switching back to anemo characters to apply BOTH Electro and Pyro res shreds (previously extremely inconsistent even with double VV on-field swirls). Now you can just continue your usual rotation as new enemies spawn. I know it's gonna feel SO GOOD not to have to swirl over and over.
The main kicker for me is that we finally have another Pyro healer that isn't Bennett. I'm tired of using him. I main Yoimiya and staying inside Benny's burst radius to get the buff is annoying because Yoimiya moves backwards while attacking. I will not have this issue with Chevreuse. Also, overload knocking away enemies is not going to be a problem for Yoimiya. So yeah, I am definitely happy about Chevreuse's current state, let's hope she doesn't get nerfed. EDIT: I am one of the crazy people that use yoimiya without shielders
The first team I thought about was Yoi, Fishl, Beidou and Chevreuse. This way you have a shield and damage reduction plus electro and pyro resonance. Yoi would probably use the pyro set and notshimenawa in this case since you would like to use the burst every rotation lus that juicy 40% overload damage
I think it’s only crazy to use yoi without a shielder if you have Bennett because you’re forced to play circle impact, defeating the upside of being a NA bow user.
Finally, someone who says 'Chevreuse buffs Pyro/Electro teams' instead of 'Chevreuse buffs Overload'. I've been WAITING. I've got a few ideas for teams with her - I wanna try a Raiden National team with her instead of a Hydro unit, and I also think a Yanfei Overload team (Yanfei herself will be built for EM, but Fischl and Beidou can still benefit from Chev's ATK and DMG buffs) could be pretty fun. Really though, I hope she works with Arlecchino or Clorinde because I really want to run teams with those two in the future (the lack of information about their kits is killing me). TBH I'm surprised her personal damage is even close to meaningful, nevermind enough to justify building her offensively, especially with the ATK buff that scales on her HP (although I suppose each individual HP artifact is going to make a small difference in the ATK buff in exchange for a huge loss in Chev's damage). Also, in defense of people who like to run shields: The problem with Genshin combat is that, while dodging attacks in most other games feels like you're playing the game right, in Genshin, dodging makes you feel like you're playing *wrong*, especially if you dodge mid-rotation and your character's abilities (and the timer) are ticking down without being used. So I don't really blame people for running shields, the game just feels better to play to some extent.
And we're here for it, My Bennett is still level 20 for that free fate same with xiangling who is level 50 because of enviosity and crescent pike xiangling.
And that's what I love. Hoyo is trying to redeem themselves for the abomination of a character and gameplay design that Bennett is. He's freakishly unbalanced and his character design looks like bootleg Bakugan cosplay
She looks like a Yanfei buff. Still somewhat questionable outside of c6. The biggest advantage I see though is that she can resist shred enemies that have shields or elemental infusions. You can not pyro resist shred the hydro Tulpa with VV but Chevreuse can.
I think it will depend on what Yanfei team she is compared against. Yanfei/Furina/Yelan/Jean will probably remain the ceiling team (especially when allowing for vertical investment like Furina's C1 and 2) but I *really* enjoy overload as a reaction so I'm pretty hyped to have a chance to build a team around that!
I think Chevreuse is gonna be the pair of clorinde, Clorinde maybe the nillou for overload and Chevreuse is gonna skyrocket her damage by giving her electro dmg bonus and resistance shred as well as healing.
Its good to see a four star that is actually good and usefull. Also finally electros are gonna play something other than an aggravate or hyperbloom team.

Aggrivate is okay agreed a good electro team and does increase damage of electro, but you just can't go ahead and say that they are best electro teams, it is like saying the best hydro teams is bloom when freeze , vaporize exists and does more damage.
I plan on using her with my Yae Miko. Yae, Chevreuse, Xiangling and Bennet for a fiery dance of death 😈 and Yae's turrets Will have no problems with the random scattering from overload!
The argument that Yoimiya needs a shield only holds in her vape teams because you really want to reach her 5th NA string to deal that massive vape damage. Having to cancel her N5 string halfway thru screws over her ICD, which will most likely happen if you run her without a shield. In this overload team you are not trying to vape her N5 so you don't lost that much to run her without a shield.
Not strictly true. Long time yoimiya enjoyer here and her NA damage is really back loaded. If you don't do N5 you lose 25-30% of her damage. You CAN run her without interruption resistance but she really benefits a lot from finishing her NA combo every time, even if she's doing transformative reactions
For a shield you can just play Beidou instead of Bennet. You get more overload buffed by the Crimson witch plus another dps that can use Yoimiya and Chevreuse Buff. With this team you also have a shield and electro resonance.
Beidou’s shield isn’t that strong, especially on a damage build. It’s only really reliable when paired with another form of defense. Thoma and even Xinyan or Dehya would be better defensive options.

Yoimiya needs a shield for vape teams because of her ICD rules. Without vape, dodging doesnt hurt her DPS nearly as much. I encourage all Yoimiya mains to try a Furina/Fischl/Baizhu team. Give her like 150-200 em and 130-150 er so her ult can proc some decent burgeons.
@@nyes4596 not really, especially when she is built to do damage. Her shield scales of Hp when she scales off attack. Even with 40k hp her shield only has about 6k health. You will also need energy recharge.
Here me out, Chevreuse with Razor and C6 Benneth. Flex slot can be Fischl. Razor can do both pyro and electro dmg with c6 benneth pyro infusion and have benefit of pyro and electro res shred from Chevreuse. It's gonna be a lot of overloads, it could be massive against boss enemies or any unstaggarable enemies.
The problem will be that the overload reaction will throw the enemies out of bennets burst circle so you will have to get out of it to damage them again so you lose the buff and pyro infusion.
@@redsky397Bro, I literally said it would only work against boss enemies or enemies that dont stagger. Overload is most of the time a bad reaction in aoe without anemo/grouper.
A question for you TGS. How will a C6 Chereuse be in a Raiko team (Raiden Yae Cheve Bennett) as a Kazuha replacement? That team has a 22 sec rotation and Cheve might proc her buff before you switch right into Raiden/Miko.
Overload is my fav reaction I finally got a character that can utilize it well. Finally so I'll actually build character that she needs so its worth the investment.
I like how they’re clearly shifting from the dendro impact, but overload is such an annoying reaction that I highly doubt that it’ll succeed in any existing team. Stagger without any grouping is going to be rough in AoE, and there are much better single-target teams already.
If only she slightly changes overload too..instead of throwing the enemies away, overloaded enemies just bounces up.. that would be really nice.. chasing enemies doesn't feel nice 😆
As a Yoimiya main I wasn't sure you were going to talk about her, but the reason why Yoimiya want a shield is to get vaporise on her 3rd and 5th hit, with an overload team like that a shield isn't mandatory anymore as it becomes ok to dodge and break the NA chain. Sure her 5th hit is still the one that does the most dmg, but it's not required to get it now.
For the slide on 4:06, to have her ER reqs go down, did you assume C4 extra skill proc gives energy? It apparently does not, because the skill has a 10s cooldown for particle generation.
Didn't know about the particle gen CD, then yeah er reqs get bumped by like 40 on non raiden teams and dmg decreases by 20-30k if u can't adjust the rot, otherwise it's the same. There is also a possibility she can do 3 E per rot with C4 which would make the loss p much null
Just play Beidou over Fischl if you want resistance to interruption. She can be played solo despite popular opinion, many players have farmed the Emblem domain for years. You likely have a set that can get her to the required ER threshold. It's not the end of the world to use an ER sands, especially in a Bennett team. I don't know why TCs never consider her as a solo electro option outside of single target performance.
I would be interested to see how a Yoimiya, Beidou, Fischl, Chevreuse team would stack up where she debuff for every member. Now we have here a shielder with Beidou and knockback is not a big problem here because of the range.
@@Nowaylarry Bennett's circle is too small and it might be too difficult to keep enemies grouped to be worth using him in a full overload team. I'm not an expert but that's my gut feeling.
I don’t know if you keep graphics of old team calcs but it would be nice to see more side by side comparisons like the Raiden hyper ones. Especially for the yoimiya/Klee teams.
Probably too clunky. Yoimiya is the better driver for consistent Pyro application + she's infinitely hotter, just pull for her she's actually going to powercreep the entire Genshin cast and we're not even in Natlan yet like omg I want to be Yoimiya's bandages.

No thanks she barely has damage on par with kazuha. While doing the literal opposite mechanic. Kazuha groups everything together shes designed that everything will spread out. What a pain in the ass. 2 years from now if i accidently get her c6 i might try her out. But she is definitely not worth going out of my way to get.
She still needs to survive another week or two of beta changes. I'm also skeptical about how practical her teams are going to be. Focusing on Overload while not being able to slot in a grouper is going to be sketchy in AoE situations.
I cooked some wacky shits with her. You could do like Pyro on-field carry+Bennett, into full EM ToM/GD Wandering Evenstar Yae or crit/Widsith/GT. You could also do Cyno or Keqing with TS/Glad/TF (albeit TF is a bit weaker in this team since you can't proc its 4 pc effect reliably), with Beidou(Fiscl same reason as TF) and full EM Thoma/Dehya/Xinyan (GD on all 3, ToM on the last 2). Or you could do ToM/GD(or crit GT) + Mappa Mare Yae, with Xiangling+Bennett, and quickswapping around. In this team specifically, the difference between giving her full HP, and dmg become noticable on the dmg side, since she could afford field time to charge and shoot all 3 of her C4. The artifact set to go for with her is most of the time Noblese. For clam, it's just a no since her healing is not enough to justify, and with the new set, it would do 60-100 k dmg depends on the team, which is around 3-5k dps, and worse in AoE, with the dmg being backloaded. If you already have Noblese, say you have Bennett in the team, I'd say unless you can afford field time on Bennett, you would go that new set.
yanfei is also a good option if you want long range like yoi but don't want to slot a shield in like klee cuz her C4 gives a shield and generally overloaded knocks enemies away from you i knew chev was gonna be good even at C0 and that her const are all good so i'm glad to see you agree with me i have a question tho is staff of homa her BiS and if so do we use ATK% sands for more personal damage or HP% sands for more stacks on the second passive?
Really hope i can snipe one copy of her without getting any on the 5 stars of next version, bc think she will be a great support for future electro/pyro characters (aka Arleccino and Clorinde, and ill be getting both on release)
@@genevievemccluer7503 I thought the same, but it turns out only the RES shred ability and the 6 Energy/10s buffs are affected by only having Pyro and Electro on the team. The DMG buff comes from her healing ticks. The ATK bonus comes from Overload reactions. So, it's feasible to use kazuha and chevy together.
She doesn't have to be in an all Pyro/electro team for c6. Can you do more theory crafting on her non pryo/electro teams? Maybe raiden, chevreuse(c6), kazuha, furina? That might be too much element bonus damage.
Her 2nd passive can give up to 40% atk to the team + better healing (prob 3k per tick) so I think building HP may be a bit better in a team where the main dps stays onfield for a long time (Yoimiya).
I believe it runs into diminishing returns assuming the team also contains Bennet. Stacking attack percent on attack percent isn't as beneficial as stacking her personal damage.
@@Grief111 I think the entire purpose of Chev is for people to drop Bennet. Even more in overload teams where knock back is gonna be very high. Bennet’s circle is a huge con in overload teams.
Imma be honest I really think your assumptions are way too optimistic. The downside in AoE isnt sth small it is huge. The anti-grouping aspect of overload is gonna be a huge pain and make it to where staying in bennett circle is gonna be very hard unless you’re fighting non knockbackable enemies. It might be enough to where raiden hyper teams and the like struggle to clear chambers as they chase ungrouped enemies outside of bennett burst. Then C0 no 5 star raiden hyper with an R5 Deathmatch Chevreuse is ???? No shielder Yoimiya isn’t a skill issue thing, you need to consider missed dps from dodging, so showing her team with no dodging assumptions just is faulty assumptions at play. And what’s the assumed average buff on Chevreuse’s C6? It takes healing ticks to get and as far as I understand her healing ticks once every 2s, so frontloaded damage is gonna benefit less or not at all from the buff (downside vs kazuha in raiden hyper) - I see no assumptions being made in this regard for raiden hyper? The assumption of single target dps cannot be that you’re only fighting non staggerable bosses. If it is, you’re making sheet dps diverge from real dps by design.
The buff is applied dynamically in my calcs. Example, raiden's q nuke only gets 20% dmg bonus, and then it gets higher. I wouldn't exactly call it optimisitc if I emphasized on all the possibilities and factors you've talked about. Missed dps on yoimiya from dodging is less than with vape yoimiya btw, that's where no shielder really becomes iffy because if you mess with the icd timing you're losing a lot of dmg. Meanwhile dodging with no vape yoimiya isn't all that different from dodging with other characters

no need of shield in overload yoimiya team, she doesnt need to do full 5 hit combo of her NA just like vape, so she can dodge and just spam NA to do raw damage and trigger overload.

Chevreuse looks like the overloaded reactions while Clorinde doesn't have any design motifs towards overloaded. If the elemental reactions are ro be personified, then Chevreuse=overloaded, and Clorinde=electro charged. I mean, you see the way Clorinde ricochets off enemies during thr gardemek cutscene during the 2nd part. That's much of a hint towards hee being electro charged. Plus, Clorinde is a blend of blue and purple, while Chevreuse's is red and purple, aka Pyro x electro, whereas the blue and purple of Clorinde is electro x hydro.
You say Chevreuse is one of the best 4 stars ever but all I see in your video is that C6 Chevreuse can be equal to C0 Kazuha on a single specific team, against single target only. Is there a team where C6 Chevreuse is actually an upgrade? Or a team where C0-C2 Chevreuse is at least a sidegrade? I'm not seeing how she is amazing in the same way as Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl, Beidou. She seems worse than Yaoyao even, since the overload reaction is worse than the dendro reactions YaoYao can do.
That team where she matches kazuha is actually not the best she can do. For example, the klee team I've shown sheets higher than mono pyro klee with kazuha by around 5k dps
Overload was always considered good damage wise but the its to the moon knockback is what makes it unviable The moment hoyo remove its knockback or release a char that lets overload not do knockback It can be a new team archetype
i get that this is new and cool and everything but i aint building my 5 stars around a 4 star on the basis on overload, arguably one of the worst dps elemental reactions 😂 maybe that will change when chlorinde or arlecchino releases edit: i never tried raiden hypercarry but i guess ill build my sara to try if i get chevreuse
Dmg aside, overload does exactly opposite of what Kazuha brings Kazuha have grouping, and overload scatter enemies all over the place This amplifies both the clunkiness of Bennett’s circle impact, and Yoimiya’s sh*tty autoaim So i’d say pretty much a boss-only unit

Kazuha would also be a damage upgrade in single target with his c2, which is not too much farther investment than getting c6 for a four star. The only think I see Chevreuse bringing here to make up for Kazuha's additional benefits is the healing she does.
I had a feeling Hoyo might try to buff overload with Arlechino, as they saw Pyro is generally played with Hydro vape, so they made Lyney mono Pyro, they might had tried to do something about Overload with arlechino because Overload is currently frankly bad but meh, maybe chezruse is arlecnino beta? prolly not
I am excited for this, the old best electro teams were bennet + electro but the synergy was never there, kazuha swirled the pyro and the enemies were overloading all over the stage. Now with bigger enemies that don’t stagger as much, it was just the issue of the damage not exactly being there. I’m not a huge fan of the charge shot mechanic but hopefully you can tap it or it’s not too clunky.

What about Yoimiya beidou fischl Cheuvreuse? i feel like beidou will be nice for Yoimiya because of the shield and the resistance to interruption and also provides some aoe DMG
she seems strong but ultimately overload is a grief reaction unless you're playing against heavy mobs/bosses. In that Yoimiya team you sheeted for example I can close my eyes and visualise Yoimiya having to leave Bennett's circle because she pushed the mobs for away and can no longer hit them. Fun times
But you don't find many staggerable enemies in the abyss nowadays. The abyss has more heavyweight enemies now. The breacher primuses are pretty stationary and unaffected, the meka surveyor bots don't get staggered very often, and the meka harvester is a clunk of metal that's hardly ever staggered. Plus the ruin guards, graders, and sentinels don't get staggered

It always rotates for the reruns, and there’s more enemies coming in the future, most of which are staggered quite hard. Overload is dead on arrival, and if Clorinde is entirely overload-focused, her mains aren’t gonna have a great time.
@@vladdyru yet the enemies that get staggered pretty hard are pretty squishy. And Fontaine has few highly stagger prone enemies. It may actually be better to just stagger those enemies, for example Liam and Rocky who hit really hard for a treasure hoarder
I have been using overload and it's mostly fine. Using overload against lightweight enemies is player's bad choice. It's like forcing vape to electro or cryo imbued enemies, which is player's issue c:
I hope for more characters like this in the future. Taking a underutilized team architype and breathing new life into it. How about a shatter support? Or a geo character that converts crystalize crystals into IEDs make their talents scale with EM. There are a lot of ideas yet untapped when it comes to kit design.
I think the teams need to lean more into overload to be optimal. Raiden and Yoimiya don't apply much of their element so they aren't great choices. Also, as you said, the Raiden hyper team just doesn't work, so I'm wondering why it was shown at all. A ranged DPS, like Yoimiya, can counteract the problem, of the enemy getting blasted away from you, very well. I think that 1.0 characters will shine in her team , as usual. One team that I think will perform well is Fischl, Beidou, Chev and Bennet. On field TF Bennet will produce a tremendous amount of energy and will likely drop ER requirements by a lot.
You can give Sucrose Hakushin Ring so that she can match Kazuha's buff in Raiden hypercarry team. So, Sucrose is ovrall better than Chevreuse in that team.
so shes like Kuki? like... her kit scales with hp% on the outside and then u ascend her to 70 and EM starts to play a big part in it too AND shes also a top tier hyperbloom trigger
Genshin is just shutting down my expectations with these splash arts. These guns are not her weapon so why even include it. It’s so misleading and I hate it. First Mika, and now Chevreuse who doesn’t get a new weapon that’s in their splash art is straight up indignant.
That's funny, I actually use Yoimiya with Yelan, Bennett, and Fischl. What I can mention that might not be easy to see on paper in regards to "needing a shield" is that the overload actually does pretty hefty knockback to enemies that it applies to, like when going up against the double vishap it just fully helps stunlock them entirely so no shield is a non issue.
Man overload wont knoback all enemies at once, you still lose N5 cause someone will hit u. I think this is best team for yoimiya but with zhongli instead of fischl

Physical will move to a grave, probably. Geo isn’t moving at all, as Navia has basically nothing to do with other geo units, and Chiori most likely won’t change much. And hopefully Clorinde & Arlecchino aren’t just Raiden & Hu Tao powercreep.

you missed the point of her kit... she doesnt buff overload, she uses overload as a trigger for other buffs. the 60% dmg bonus for example does not affect overload damage, it only buffs a character's own damage. and building a character for their own damage (eg crit) is antisynergistic with building for overload (because crit is a dead stat for transformative reactions). you cant have both.
the only way for this to work is if a character gets a shit ton of EM buffs either from their own kit or externally (which is not possible in a pyro+electro team), and converts that EM buff to dmg% (like yae miko does). theyve already done this for quicken characters (tighnari, alhaitham, nahida, cyno, yae), but quicken by design benefits from crit stats, so these numbers will have to be even higher for a theoretical overload dps that can benefit fully from chevreuse.
Hoyo finally cracked the code on making 4*s people would want to snipe - have them be decent enough to open up avenues to further team comps. Chevreuse is actually making me wanna risk C1 Yoimiya for her, assuming she's on Yoi and Ei's reruns next patch. It'll be too ideal if she's with Navia.

In a way they've been pretty good at releasing 4*'s that aren't necessarily bad, good, or even necessarily niche, but just interesting or gimmicky enough for people to WANT the character. Chevreusse opens a new playstyle, Freminet has a unique way of dealing his damage, and even characters like Kirara and Charlotte who already cover existing archetypes but just have a rlly silly kit.
I can recall almost every new 4* in the past year being a character that people specifically pulled for without any regard for the 5*. I think hoyo has kinda just recognized that people will go for a 4* regardless of how well they perform as long as they're unique and interesting, and they've definitely really nailed it with Chevreusse in particular.
Chevrolet's biggest contribution next to allowing some teams to escape Bennett'a circle impact is allowing us to not have to keep switching back to anemo characters to apply BOTH Electro and Pyro res shreds (previously extremely inconsistent even with double VV on-field swirls). Now you can just continue your usual rotation as new enemies spawn. I know it's gonna feel SO GOOD not to have to swirl over and over.

The main kicker for me is that we finally have another Pyro healer that isn't Bennett. I'm tired of using him. I main Yoimiya and staying inside Benny's burst radius to get the buff is annoying because Yoimiya moves backwards while attacking. I will not have this issue with Chevreuse. Also, overload knocking away enemies is not going to be a problem for Yoimiya. So yeah, I am definitely happy about Chevreuse's current state, let's hope she doesn't get nerfed.

The first team I thought about was Yoi, Fishl, Beidou and Chevreuse. This way you have a shield and damage reduction plus electro and pyro resonance. Yoi would probably use the pyro set and notshimenawa in this case since you would like to use the burst every rotation lus that juicy 40% overload damage

Finally, someone who says 'Chevreuse buffs Pyro/Electro teams' instead of 'Chevreuse buffs Overload'. I've been WAITING.
I've got a few ideas for teams with her - I wanna try a Raiden National team with her instead of a Hydro unit, and I also think a Yanfei Overload team (Yanfei herself will be built for EM, but Fischl and Beidou can still benefit from Chev's ATK and DMG buffs) could be pretty fun. Really though, I hope she works with Arlecchino or Clorinde because I really want to run teams with those two in the future (the lack of information about their kits is killing me).
TBH I'm surprised her personal damage is even close to meaningful, nevermind enough to justify building her offensively, especially with the ATK buff that scales on her HP (although I suppose each individual HP artifact is going to make a small difference in the ATK buff in exchange for a huge loss in Chev's damage).
Also, in defense of people who like to run shields: The problem with Genshin combat is that, while dodging attacks in most other games feels like you're playing the game right, in Genshin, dodging makes you feel like you're playing *wrong*, especially if you dodge mid-rotation and your character's abilities (and the timer) are ticking down without being used. So I don't really blame people for running shields, the game just feels better to play to some extent.
Mihoyo is trying every way possible to kick Bennett out of the meta.

She looks like a Yanfei buff. Still somewhat questionable outside of c6. The biggest advantage I see though is that she can resist shred enemies that have shields or elemental infusions. You can not pyro resist shred the hydro Tulpa with VV but Chevreuse can.

I think it will depend on what Yanfei team she is compared against. Yanfei/Furina/Yelan/Jean will probably remain the ceiling team (especially when allowing for vertical investment like Furina's C1 and 2) but I *really* enjoy overload as a reaction so I'm pretty hyped to have a chance to build a team around that!
I think Chevreuse is gonna be the pair of clorinde, Clorinde maybe the nillou for overload and Chevreuse is gonna skyrocket her damage by giving her electro dmg bonus and resistance shred as well as healing.

I plan on using her with my Yae Miko. Yae, Chevreuse, Xiangling and Bennet for a fiery dance of death 😈 and Yae's turrets Will have no problems with the random scattering from overload!

The argument that Yoimiya needs a shield only holds in her vape teams because you really want to reach her 5th NA string to deal that massive vape damage.
Having to cancel her N5 string halfway thru screws over her ICD, which will most likely happen if you run her without a shield.
In this overload team you are not trying to vape her N5 so you don't lost that much to run her without a shield.

Not strictly true. Long time yoimiya enjoyer here and her NA damage is really back loaded. If you don't do N5 you lose 25-30% of her damage. You CAN run her without interruption resistance but she really benefits a lot from finishing her NA combo every time, even if she's doing transformative reactions

For a shield you can just play Beidou instead of Bennet. You get more overload buffed by the Crimson witch plus another dps that can use Yoimiya and Chevreuse Buff. With this team you also have a shield and electro resonance.
Beidou’s shield isn’t that strong, especially on a damage build. It’s only really reliable when paired with another form of defense.
Thoma and even Xinyan or Dehya would be better defensive options.

Yoimiya needs a shield for vape teams because of her ICD rules. Without vape, dodging doesnt hurt her DPS nearly as much. I encourage all Yoimiya mains to try a Furina/Fischl/Baizhu team. Give her like 150-200 em and 130-150 er so her ult can proc some decent burgeons.
@@nyes4596 not really, especially when she is built to do damage. Her shield scales of Hp when she scales off attack. Even with 40k hp her shield only has about 6k health. You will also need energy recharge.
Here me out, Chevreuse with Razor and C6 Benneth. Flex slot can be Fischl. Razor can do both pyro and electro dmg with c6 benneth pyro infusion and have benefit of pyro and electro res shred from Chevreuse. It's gonna be a lot of overloads, it could be massive against boss enemies or any unstaggarable enemies.

The problem will be that the overload reaction will throw the enemies out of bennets burst circle so you will have to get out of it to damage them again so you lose the buff and pyro infusion.

How will a C6 Chereuse be in a Raiko team (Raiden Yae Cheve Bennett) as a Kazuha replacement? That team has a 22 sec rotation and Cheve might proc her buff before you switch right into Raiden/Miko.
Since Chev already buff attack, Kujou might be better

Overload is my fav reaction I finally got a character that can utilize it well. Finally so I'll actually build character that she needs so its worth the investment.
I like how they’re clearly shifting from the dendro impact, but overload is such an annoying reaction that I highly doubt that it’ll succeed in any existing team. Stagger without any grouping is going to be rough in AoE, and there are much better single-target teams already.

As a Yoimiya main I wasn't sure you were going to talk about her, but the reason why Yoimiya want a shield is to get vaporise on her 3rd and 5th hit, with an overload team like that a shield isn't mandatory anymore as it becomes ok to dodge and break the NA chain. Sure her 5th hit is still the one that does the most dmg, but it's not required to get it now.
I would build her if she didn't have purple hair.
For the slide on 4:06, to have her ER reqs go down, did you assume C4 extra skill proc gives energy? It apparently does not, because the skill has a 10s cooldown for particle generation.
Didn't know about the particle gen CD, then yeah er reqs get bumped by like 40 on non raiden teams and dmg decreases by 20-30k if u can't adjust the rot, otherwise it's the same. There is also a possibility she can do 3 E per rot with C4 which would make the loss p much null
This is HYV's way of telling you to C6 Bennet.
Just play Beidou over Fischl if you want resistance to interruption. She can be played solo despite popular opinion, many players have farmed the Emblem domain for years. You likely have a set that can get her to the required ER threshold. It's not the end of the world to use an ER sands, especially in a Bennett team. I don't know why TCs never consider her as a solo electro option outside of single target performance.
I would be interested to see how a Yoimiya, Beidou, Fischl, Chevreuse team would stack up where she debuff for every member. Now we have here a shielder with Beidou and knockback is not a big problem here because of the range.
Plus, you don't need to worry about losing a vape on strongest attack so Yoimiya doesn't lose a ton of damage dodging around d

In a team full of only electro and pyro units, proccing overload is the least of your worries.

No thanks she barely has damage on par with kazuha. While doing the literal opposite mechanic. Kazuha groups everything together shes designed that everything will spread out. What a pain in the ass. 2 years from now if i accidently get her c6 i might try her out. But she is definitely not worth going out of my way to get.
She still needs to survive another week or two of beta changes. I'm also skeptical about how practical her teams are going to be. Focusing on Overload while not being able to slot in a grouper is going to be sketchy in AoE situations.

I cooked some wacky shits with her. You could do like Pyro on-field carry+Bennett, into full EM ToM/GD Wandering Evenstar Yae or crit/Widsith/GT. You could also do Cyno or Keqing with TS/Glad/TF (albeit TF is a bit weaker in this team since you can't proc its 4 pc effect reliably), with Beidou(Fiscl same reason as TF) and full EM Thoma/Dehya/Xinyan (GD on all 3, ToM on the last 2). Or you could do ToM/GD(or crit GT) + Mappa Mare Yae, with Xiangling+Bennett, and quickswapping around. In this team specifically, the difference between giving her full HP, and dmg become noticable on the dmg side, since she could afford field time to charge and shoot all 3 of her C4.
The artifact set to go for with her is most of the time Noblese. For clam, it's just a no since her healing is not enough to justify, and with the new set, it would do 60-100 k dmg depends on the team, which is around 3-5k dps, and worse in AoE, with the dmg being backloaded. If you already have Noblese, say you have Bennett in the team, I'd say unless you can afford field time on Bennett, you would go that new set.
yanfei is also a good option if you want long range like yoi but don't want to slot a shield in like klee cuz her C4 gives a shield and generally overloaded knocks enemies away from you

@@genevievemccluer7503 I thought the same, but it turns out only the RES shred ability and the 6 Energy/10s buffs are affected by only having Pyro and Electro on the team. The DMG buff comes from her healing ticks. The ATK bonus comes from Overload reactions. So, it's feasible to use kazuha and chevy together.

She doesn't have to be in an all Pyro/electro team for c6. Can you do more theory crafting on her non pryo/electro teams? Maybe raiden, chevreuse(c6), kazuha, furina? That might be too much element bonus damage.

Her 2nd passive can give up to 40% atk to the team + better healing (prob 3k per tick) so I think building HP may be a bit better in a team where the main dps stays onfield for a long time (Yoimiya).
I believe it runs into diminishing returns assuming the team also contains Bennet. Stacking attack percent on attack percent isn't as beneficial as stacking her personal damage.
@@Grief111 I think the entire purpose of Chev is for people to drop Bennet. Even more in overload teams where knock back is gonna be very high. Bennet’s circle is a huge con in overload teams.
Imma be honest I really think your assumptions are way too optimistic. The downside in AoE isnt sth small it is huge. The anti-grouping aspect of overload is gonna be a huge pain and make it to where staying in bennett circle is gonna be very hard unless you’re fighting non knockbackable enemies. It might be enough to where raiden hyper teams and the like struggle to clear chambers as they chase ungrouped enemies outside of bennett burst. Then C0 no 5 star raiden hyper with an R5 Deathmatch Chevreuse is ???? No shielder Yoimiya isn’t a skill issue thing, you need to consider missed dps from dodging, so showing her team with no dodging assumptions just is faulty assumptions at play. And what’s the assumed average buff on Chevreuse’s C6? It takes healing ticks to get and as far as I understand her healing ticks once every 2s, so frontloaded damage is gonna benefit less or not at all from the buff (downside vs kazuha in raiden hyper) - I see no assumptions being made in this regard for raiden hyper?
The assumption of single target dps cannot be that you’re only fighting non staggerable bosses. If it is, you’re making sheet dps diverge from real dps by design.
The buff is applied dynamically in my calcs. Example, raiden's q nuke only gets 20% dmg bonus, and then it gets higher.
I wouldn't exactly call it optimisitc if I emphasized on all the possibilities and factors you've talked about. Missed dps on yoimiya from dodging is less than with vape yoimiya btw, that's where no shielder really becomes iffy because if you mess with the icd timing you're losing a lot of dmg. Meanwhile dodging with no vape yoimiya isn't all that different from dodging with other characters

Chevreuse looks like the overloaded reactions while Clorinde doesn't have any design motifs towards overloaded.
If the elemental reactions are ro be personified, then Chevreuse=overloaded, and Clorinde=electro charged. I mean, you see the way Clorinde ricochets off enemies during thr gardemek cutscene during the 2nd part. That's much of a hint towards hee being electro charged. Plus, Clorinde is a blend of blue and purple, while Chevreuse's is red and purple, aka Pyro x electro, whereas the blue and purple of Clorinde is electro x hydro.

You say Chevreuse is one of the best 4 stars ever but all I see in your video is that C6 Chevreuse can be equal to C0 Kazuha on a single specific team, against single target only. Is there a team where C6 Chevreuse is actually an upgrade? Or a team where C0-C2 Chevreuse is at least a sidegrade? I'm not seeing how she is amazing in the same way as Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl, Beidou. She seems worse than Yaoyao even, since the overload reaction is worse than the dendro reactions YaoYao can do.
That team where she matches kazuha is actually not the best she can do. For example, the klee team I've shown sheets higher than mono pyro klee with kazuha by around 5k dps

Overload was always considered good damage wise but the its to the moon knockback is what makes it unviable
The moment hoyo remove its knockback or release a char that lets overload not do knockback
It can be a new team archetype
i get that this is new and cool and everything but i aint building my 5 stars around a 4 star on the basis on overload, arguably one of the worst dps elemental reactions 😂
maybe that will change when chlorinde or arlecchino releases

Dmg aside, overload does exactly opposite of what Kazuha brings
Kazuha have grouping, and overload scatter enemies all over the place
This amplifies both the clunkiness of Bennett’s circle impact, and Yoimiya’s sh*tty autoaim
So i’d say pretty much a boss-only unit
It's worth mentioning that kazuha would also overload plenty on these types of teams depending on the rot

Kazuha would also be a damage upgrade in single target with his c2, which is not too much farther investment than getting c6 for a four star. The only think I see Chevreuse bringing here to make up for Kazuha's additional benefits is the healing she does.

I had a feeling Hoyo might try to buff overload with Arlechino, as they saw Pyro is generally played with Hydro vape, so they made Lyney mono Pyro, they might had tried to do something about Overload with arlechino because Overload is currently frankly bad

I am excited for this, the old best electro teams were bennet + electro but the synergy was never there, kazuha swirled the pyro and the enemies were overloading all over the stage. Now with bigger enemies that don’t stagger as much, it was just the issue of the damage not exactly being there. I’m not a huge fan of the charge shot mechanic but hopefully you can tap it or it’s not too clunky.
I have a question, in a bloom nilou team with Nilou, nahida, and em kokomi what is the best teammate as the fourth one? Collei c6 or dendro traveler c5? I dont know Who to build🥺
I think Collei C6 has the higher damage ceiling. Not sure what is easier to play, though.

What about Yoimiya beidou fischl Cheuvreuse? i feel like beidou will be nice for Yoimiya because of the shield and the resistance to interruption and also provides some aoe DMG

she seems strong but ultimately overload is a grief reaction unless you're playing against heavy mobs/bosses. In that Yoimiya team you sheeted for example I can close my eyes and visualise Yoimiya having to leave Bennett's circle because she pushed the mobs for away and can no longer hit them. Fun times
But you don't find many staggerable enemies in the abyss nowadays. The abyss has more heavyweight enemies now. The breacher primuses are pretty stationary and unaffected, the meka surveyor bots don't get staggered very often, and the meka harvester is a clunk of metal that's hardly ever staggered. Plus the ruin guards, graders, and sentinels don't get staggered

It always rotates for the reruns, and there’s more enemies coming in the future, most of which are staggered quite hard. Overload is dead on arrival, and if Clorinde is entirely overload-focused, her mains aren’t gonna have a great time.

And Fontaine has few highly stagger prone enemies. It may actually be better to just stagger those enemies, for example Liam and Rocky who hit really hard for a treasure hoarder
I have been using overload and it's mostly fine. Using overload against lightweight enemies is player's bad choice. It's like forcing vape to electro or cryo imbued enemies, which is player's issue c:

I hope for more characters like this in the future. Taking a underutilized team architype and breathing new life into it. How about a shatter support? Or a geo character that converts crystalize crystals into IEDs make their talents scale with EM. There are a lot of ideas yet untapped when it comes to kit design.
Navia and Freminet. They are hell bent on making Nilou-esque characters instead of just fixing the reaction
I think the teams need to lean more into overload to be optimal. Raiden and Yoimiya don't apply much of their element so they aren't great choices. Also, as you said, the Raiden hyper team just doesn't work, so I'm wondering why it was shown at all.
A ranged DPS, like Yoimiya, can counteract the problem, of the enemy getting blasted away from you, very well.
I think that 1.0 characters will shine in her team , as usual. One team that I think will perform well is Fischl, Beidou, Chev and Bennet. On field TF Bennet will produce a tremendous amount of energy and will likely drop ER requirements by a lot.
You can give Sucrose Hakushin Ring so that she can match Kazuha's buff in Raiden hypercarry team. So, Sucrose is ovrall better than Chevreuse in that team.

That's funny, I actually use Yoimiya with Yelan, Bennett, and Fischl. What I can mention that might not be easy to see on paper in regards to "needing a shield" is that the overload actually does pretty hefty knockback to enemies that it applies to, like when going up against the double vishap it just fully helps stunlock them entirely so no shield is a non issue.
Man overload wont knoback all enemies at once, you still lose N5 cause someone will hit u. I think this is best team for yoimiya but with zhongli instead of fischl
