- Wilburn Brothers - Heart Over Mind
Curly Chalker - Pedal Steel Guitar
Jimmy Capps - Lead Electric Guitar
Lester Wilburn - Rhythm Guitar
Leslie Wilburn - Electric Bass
Can anyone name the drummer?
The woman who joins the Brothers in the last verse is a young Barbara Mandrell.
Teddy Wilburn, singing lead and playing acoustic guitar and Doyle Wilburn singing harmony. The song, "Heart Over Mind" was written by Mel Tillis.
At the beginning of the clip Teddy can be heard saying "Thank you Ace" ...this is in reference to the previous scene/song on the show was a performance by saxophonist Ace Cannon.
This clip is from the "Wilburn Brothers Show", the year is approximately 1972.
The Wilburn Brothers belong in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Better than some who are "Enshrined" there.
Wait a minute, you mean they still aren't there yet? That's crazy.
Nelson Smith midu7
Why should they be? And who shouldn't?
Eternal Curly Chalker... My feelings are synchronized with his music and way of playing...;-)
Curley was very "fluid" with his bar hand, a highly technical musician .
Great performances by everybody! Curly Chalker NEVER disappoints!!
Barbie and the Boys, with some fine guitar playing by Jimmy and Curley. Lonnie Melvin Tillis wrote this country standard. Just legendary great music.
All of Curly's playing is a masterclass, but that lick at 1:37 is just quintessentially steel!
I love the wilburn brothers....I have always said....these boys had it every way...THE TALENT ,,,,THE LOOKS......THE GLAMOUR ....AND MOST IMPORTANT WAS THEIR PERFECTION ....they worked hard on presentation and as for the voices ...WOW ...THE BEST EVER IN MY OPINION .
Yet they got too much of each other and separated for a long time as most duos do. Can you name one that did not go through this during their career?
All are deceased.
Mel Tillis owns this song. Many covers, but Mel's stands out.
Ray Price is the one who put this song on the map.
O alta lume...azi nimeni nu mai apreciaza așa muzica
Awesome job as usual and Curly Chalker is one of the best.
Hello, how are you doing today, I hope you are having a beautiful day ?
back here in their home town of Hardy, Arkansas, these boys are king. They were my mom/s cousins.
My wife has kin there. We live in Oklahoma right now, but are considering moving there. It sure is pretty around there.
Wow! Barbara Mandrell on the backup!😁

Great music.
Love this! Great, thanks.
Fantastic pedal steel from Curley.....E9th on the back neck.
Cant' be better, thank's for posting :)
Curly Chalker..... Yea...
Great song. In fact, I am free to follow my heart but, of course, I realized that I was in an unreal world. However, if I were asked: Can we be friends? My answer would be "yes". Friendship is wonderful because people can be friends in the distance, even if they belong to different worlds, in spite of disagreements or silence if there's nothing interesting to say. For me is more than enough to know that someone doesn't want to lose being my friend. And that's all.
Really miss the Wilburn Bros 2:19
Thank's Great talent Thank's Shuffle for Passing this on
The late Jimmy Caps on guitar.
Too bad country there's not have that kind of authenticity and heart today.
dont get me wrong love this version BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rays version with Buddy Emmons is my favorite with no disrespect to Curly I just love to hear Buddys'harmonics on the verses and if your wondering yes Buddy is my favorite steel player
Hey Buddy was an icon, a true legend, but I tend to disagree Chalker was exceptional, I would rank him above Buddy and love Buddy, both RIP.
boy that's a YOUNG barbara mandrell.
REST A WHILE LARRY ,JUST A FEW MORE DAYS.IT NOT GOING TO CHANGE !!!!!
Hello, how are you doing today, I hope you are having a beautiful day ?
ok, lets see if i can get this right, lol, when the original Wilburn Brothers show was aired , we seen it in B/W. when it was reissued, it was in original format " COLOR ". most in the 60's dident have color T.V.'s so you seen it in B/W.
I probably seen every show I just wish they would not have the audience applaud even before he starts his solo let the man play a couple of seconds before you tell him how great he is very frustrating
@rocky6081 - It's Barbara Mandrell
I've always loved the Wilbur brothers.i thought teddy was sexy before I was even old enough to know what sexy was lol
Hello, how are you doing today, I hope you are having a beautiful day ?
Barbara Mandrell was smoking hot ...she couldn’t take her eyes off of Teddy...
Or handd
@@tomlehr861 how about that..a reply from my comment I made over three years ago
0:58 Sorry, Curly... We still saw you hide it. Whatever it was.
Hello, how are you doing today, I hope you are having a beautiful day ?
How did the Wilburn Brothers have COLOR when everyone else had black & white?
Wow! Who is the girl with the beesnest hairdo?
Barbara Mandrell
Marge Simpson has a bees nest hair do (beehive)- Barbara is just sportin' big hair!
Alright, who are the mooks that gave a thumbs down?
I hafta agree with you. I always felt Curly was an "over player" and wanted his instrument to completely dominate every song he played on. It kinda gets old after awhile, that being said, his playing is still superb, but it always seemed he was too out front too often.
Curley was an "over player" that is why he never really made it in the recording studio, but he was technically brilliant .
AInt that nice ? It just don't get any better.
