These people need to listen to the stories of how Charles Spurgeon responded during Cholera. Covid wasn’t actually unprecedented when it come to the church facing sweeping illness. Only it may be unprecedented in the amount of cowardice was shown and implemented…
Spurgeon said that he would not stop visiting the sick and he said, “ If the cholera take me, so be it, but for me to live is Christ and to die is sudden glory”. I remember reading his story early in the spring 2020 and crying. My heart was just longing so deeply for our Christian leaders to lead us in this kind of faith and courage.
And now they just want to gloss over the failures with amnesty without repentance. Salvation and Gods forgiveness is not even offered without repentance. Has everyone forgotten that repentance is a part of that equation?? The gospel is free but it comes for the heart who “repents and believes”. So too, we don’t truly have reconciliation and healing in our relationships without acknowledgement of wrongs and mistakes and repentance. Otherwise trust is broken and remains broken. Whether you love someone or not.

Who else loves when John says "Bonkers"? Also, they actually got it right. We are dangerous, because we carry the truth that illuminates the darkness of the lies that society has been feeding itself. We who stand firm on the Word of God are dangerous to the world which hates God, because that Word has the power to win people from the world to God.

The unfortunate truth is that the American Christian Church may have to suffer great persecution before we take our faith in the Lord Jesus more seriously.

I am really afraid you are right. 💔. It has been heart breaking to me to see how far the western church has truly fallen. I think it’s in Isaiah 1 where it says “where will you yet be struck”… I fear we’ll have to be struck much more before these people cut their ties with the world.. I’m grieved and I’m afraid for my children.

I had started reading this article, but stopped part way through. I definitely felt there was something off about it. We are absolutely called to forgive offense, but that doesn't mean we ask for forgiveness when standing against tyranny! As you said, we have the reciepts to show we were right! Thank you John for breaking this down, and giving us the facts! I appreciate you!

My pastor has an illustration he uses all the time for forgiveness. If you lend someone your car, and they crash and total it. And then two weeks later asks to borrow your car again, it’s ok to say no. Just because you have forgiven someone doesn’t mean you must let them hurt you again.

All of the negative consequences of forced covid mandates(lost jobs and businesses, churches shutdown, keeping kids out of school, masking , forced vaccinations, gov't tyranny, health risk of the jab,etc...) were discounted ,dismissed and ignored . The only factor considered was "If it saves just one life, it's worth it." When they ask for forgiveness they need to list the reasons they need forgiveness.

I remember people insisting Jesus would've worn a mask. I replied that Jesus marched up to a leper, who the law said he had to stay a distance from due to possible contagion, and laid a hand on him. And healed him. He didn't heal first, he touched him and healed him. The early Christians did the same, helping set up the first hospitals, and risking touching the lepers in order to treat them and show compassion.

The church COULD have lead the world into a spirit of REPENTANCE, but no, they are burying the idea of repentance all together… I believe there won’t really be healing or redemption until there is some major repentance up in the church.

From the CT article: When decision-makers make decisions we think are wrong, our natural desire to hold leaders accountable should be leavened by the grace that comes from knowing how hard leadership is in a confusing and unprecedented situation. Above all, we should remember that love “keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Cor. 13:5).
Love keeping no record of wrongs is correct on a personal level, but not in regard to political leadership. Should we have employed a forgive and forget policy with Nazis in murdering 6 million Jews? No, I don't think so. The pandemic is no different. We had leaders enacting mask policies when the scientific community already had a good understanding that masking in community settings is worthless theater. There is no hiding behind the lie that they didn't know because we absolutely knew this well before the pandemic even started. The only effective measure put in place almost universally was hand sanitizer. Everything else was theater, including social distancing. The next step is to vote out any elected official affiliated with these policies. We can forgive them, but it doesn't mean we have to ever trust or listen to them ever again.

John, you are intelligent. Don't put yourself down. I would rather listen to your godly wisdom than any of the evangelical elites. I started fighting against the influence of denominational elites way back in 1988. There is nothing new under the sun except for the fact that more regular church people have bought into their social justice, Marxist rhetoric. I gave up on Christianity Today decades ago. Keep boldly speaking the truth. Much love to you and your family.

Always remember that grocery stores believed one way aisles would slow the Covid spread. Plexi glass shields were put up in check out lines to protect shoppers from coming in contact with the cashiers who put their hands on every grocery item we were taking home and probable eating. And the best part was learning that 24 hr groceries now closing at 11 pm and opening at 6 am would slow the spread.
The infection rate among children was like below 1% yet it was still determined that must remain closed, while jobs, which promoted commerce were back to work w/in 2 months.

I just keep wondering where is the repentance of these leaders? Public repentance for public leadership. Where is that? Forgiveness is not dependent on repentance, but repentance is a prerequisite for a QUALIFIED, Godly leader.
And what do we do with leaders that are unqualified? Church, we just don’t listen to them.
So CT writer here, to the point of #CooperStuff can you just please humble yourselves before God and stop talking for a little while and meditate on your relationship with God and His Word? We do actually need MORE leaders, not less. But they MUST be qualified or they are just empty-worded and taking up space and causing additional stumbling, not unity.

I must say, Cooper! I had no expectation how on fire for the gospel and truth of the Bible you would be today. So many "christian" artists have fallen away, and yet you, a hard core rocker, stands firm on the Rock of Truth, Jesus Christ.
"Christianity" Today left biblical truth more than 10 years ago. I am
not so surprised how they are behaving today. They have represented the so far left liberal "christian" for so long, I would say possibly influenced false doctrine into the church by making it seem normal.
So much has disappointed me over the past 5 years, and I appreciate you carrying the torch. Thanks!!

And unfortunately non-researching layppl who jump on these bandwagons are a big part of what allows these overreaches to continue. Forgiveness, yes. Accountability for those in authority, yes. But we layppl have a responsibility to learn and research too, or we'll swallow up anything.

I think, in a corporate sense, repentance is required for forgiveness and restoration. If they are calling for forgiveness, there needs to be a turning away from the ideology or perspective that made them set themselves up against the church's mission during the Pandemic. At the personal level...we must forgive - but trust is earned.

I agree with everything except forgiveness. If you are forgiving them, then you will trust them and everything is right between you and them like when God forgives repentant sinners. So I will not forgive them. Like you said, I will not trust them or listen to them and I remember their lies and harm they have caused. But I will not seek vengeance or retribution, that belongs to God, but unless they come with repentance and ask for forgiveness then I am duty bound to give it to them which mean full restoration and brotherhood. I really think many Christians confuse forgiveness with simply not seeking revenge.

I have never believed in God, although my family are Christians and often took me to church as a child. They explained to me what faith in Jesus is. I have experienced very unpleasant moments in my life and I asked God to help me. Nothing changed when I asked. I went to church, I was on the verge, I wanted to kill myself. Now I realize that I was wrong. I still don't believe in God, but I respect people who do. And I envy them. They are not alone. They believe in it and it helps them. Every time I watch Skillet's interview I feel like an asshole. You have been my idols since childhood and the fact that I am an atheist has always bothered me. But I admire the fact that for you it's not just words, but a lifestyle, sort of. It makes me think about my lifestyle and I would really like to be like you. I just couldn't consider this belief

I hope Jesus will speak to you like no-one else is able to because He knows you like no other. When you say Skillet is your idol, i am sure you just mean you really like his music, and you don’t worship Skillet, lol. Jesus must be calling you or you wouldn’t be saying that you envy people who are believers. Keep talking to the Lord about that, maybe there have already been changes that are small and appear unnoticeable to you. He is working on each of is who look to Him, you have looked to Him already when you asked Him to help you, He doesn’t forget or deny you.

Please remember you are here for a reason-you have a purpose. It takes faith to believe in Jesus when you cannot see him and also takes an understanding that there are no such things as coincidences. Some churches are not the answer. I think it is difficult to find a true bible teaching church. If you keep searching you will find and understand. Please do not give up on God it is so worth the effort.

We often don't know why things happen to us in life, and as you have seen, asking God to change our circumstances isn't always answered with a "yes", and we don't have an understanding of why that would be. That is our common lot as humans, Christian, atheist, or otherwise.
As a Christian, I take comfort from the fact that I don't walk through those times alone, and that there is a purpose beyond what I can see.

It's true, especially the tranzits, are extremely brave! They're not afraid of God. His warnings do not affect them. To fear something is to believe it is dangerous and able to harm and injure. 🤔 The UltraGod just might be able! When his wrath comes you don't want to be there as a bystander, let alone the object!😮

We were so blessed here. We never had a mask mandate. Our church had drive in services on Easter and opened the week after with a designated place apart from the rest of us for the elderly.
    Masks were optional.
We never had a mask mandate and our schools reopened in the fall of 2020.
My daughter had to teach the video classes the last of the 2019-2020 school year and it the amount of children who dropped completely off the radar was a travesty.
I’m so glad that God gave us wisdom.
We did not get the💉or the C.
Many people we knew who did get the 💉, also got very sick. 🤷🏼‍♀️
It was the grace of God, that kept us healthy and we give Him all the glory!
