I’ve seen so many creeps in Central Park, more brazen since 2020. Creeps all around Strawberry Fields eyeing the crowd while the band sings. There have been so many muggings, hate when people say they’re surprised on the news 💙🙏🏻💙

I don’t understand how people pay big bucks to live in NYC. You have to be crazy. There’s neighborhoods in lower Westchester that have not had a murder in 30 years and no major crime. Why would you choose to live in a place that’s crime ridden is beyond me.
Currently living in Harlem. Its not so bad but can be scary. Would love to live in a neighborhood that you describe. Best always!

Even the richest part of Manhattan has crime now now not only do you have homeless people but you have a legal aliens all over the place even the luxury stores are on fifth Avenue has had.trouble. I just can’t see spending millions of dollars to live in a place where two blocks over you can get mugged look at Central Park the crime that happens there all the time and that is bordering some of the richest neighborhoods. And I’ve had a little taste of it all I lived in the Bronx. I lived in Hell‘s kitchen in Manhattan. But living in local Westchester, I don’t have to worry about getting mugged getting stabbed gang members on the corner. Don’t get me wrong. There’s parts of global Westchester like parts of Mount Vernon in Yonkers that are just as bad but you have like Eastchester Scarsdale Bronxville Tuckahoe all of them are basically crime free Property taxes are high. There’s no buildings here no section 8, but it’s like a different country. I went back to the Bronx last week to my doctors office and it feels so foreign to me now I almost feel bad for people who are stuck there and I also feel bad that I grew up there for 25 years, my mom and dad should’ve booked it out of there.
School- work and a lot of people are from there originally. I’m sure there are few quiet blocks in every borough. It’s rough.

I will never attempt blame the victim for any reason, but I absolutely agree with you. Sun bathing, especially alone, in Central Park, is a really ignorant idea. And this is nothing new, many attacks in Central Park have never been reported. I have to wonder if the victim is not from N.Y.C. 😮
@@rmd4138 I'm from directly across the street and ain't never lay on the grass in that park. Slapped by an adult biker @ 9 y.o and rob for my bike by another adult at 8 y.o in that park. Nothing good was ever going to come from that idea, they can't be from here.

For those wondering and have actually asked in some of these thread as to why Central Park doesn't have cameras EVERYWHERE... I completely understand your question. I asked myself the same question, so let me explain how I see this situation...
It's the same as asking why there aren't better security systems and mechanisms in place in our subway systems. Bad politicians that stick around and keep coming back like a cold sore. These politicians make decisions they feel strengthen their hold on power. Their true concern does not seem to be for the regular people of NYC and New York State. So much of tax dollars are wasted and so much money is abused that there simply is "not enough funds" to place cameras all throughout Central Park. Now, make no mistake -- Central Park is HUUUUGGGGEEEE! And it has A LOT of secluded, wooded areas... It would take a lot of funding to put cameras throughout Central Park, and even though we waste so much money in other countries and for corporations, and at the behest of lobbyists ... Personally, I feel the NYC and New York government is not truly concerned with the safety of overall New Yorkers. This is sad and frustrating...
I've never met a nice person who's nickname is drug related. It's sad that a news agency is playing politics with local gangs.
