    A fully parametric EQ this good at this price in an analogue box like this is unbelievable. As a sound engineer, this is most definitely going on my effects. Pedals are SO good, and SO unique those days, they're slowly replacing all my rack gear, which is perfectly emulated anyway. This is rad!!!

    Damn that pedal really made a huge difference. Went from already pretty heavy to super thicc and defined. Lots of definition and clarity. Love it.

      For real. I love the 5150 III but I don’t think I can go back to playing it without this pedal in the loop.

      @@ScottBynoe Why in the loop and not in front of the amp?

    • @ScottBynoe
      @ScottBynoe  2 роки тому

      You can put it in front or in the loop. It’s a matter of preference. Most people put an eq in the loop though to tone shape after the preamp.

    Thanks for the refresher on how to use a Parametric EQ... extremely useful.
    Such a powerful tone tool! Gotta love GUP Tech pedals!
    It's crazy how annoying that sizzle is when you disengage the pedal. The worst part is I didn't really noticed it, until you removed those frequencies.
    Meaning, your tone when from good to great when you engaged the ptsd EQ... and from great to horrible/"I can't stand it!!!" when you disengaged the pedal!
    Kind of like when cycling through different IRs, the challenge is to "reset" your ears!

    • @ScottBynoe
      @ScottBynoe  2 роки тому +1

      Exactly. It’s amazing what our ears will come to accept but then immediately change once we tweak something. I’ve gone down that IR maze many many times. I know exactly what you mean…

    I bought a Rane PE 17 parametric eq last night & need to dive into it today. (Shady) Guy accepted a LOW BALL offer and through in a Rane ME17B graphic eq also since I sourced my own PE17 (not cheap) power supply. Need to run it through ReEq so I can see what's all going on w the signal and that its working properly. Ran it after my mesa quad preamp and into mesa 5050 power amp but will try it out in the fx loop like i usually run my eq.

    It would be really nice if the pedal has a high pass/low pass function. It can really help to have the guitar stand out from the mix.

    I've seen it on Reverb, it sounds good but to be honest it didn't convince me to purchase. The competition is huge MXR and the Boss EQ offer quality and are about the same price. Thanks for sharing it, 's a great demonstration and not a bad product

    while a para eq is amazing to have in the loop for shaping the tone, the first thing you should do to fix the tone is turn the tube amp up loud enough until the highs lose the fizz and become appealing. Use an attenuator to get there if you have to. You can thank me later

    I wonder if that tone would pair better with a rail style pickup in the bridge. From the way it sounded when you adjusted the frequencies, it definitely sounds like if you were to use a bridge pickup in a rail configuration i’d assume it would give you a more “boosted” sounding guitar tone. Not that it actually matters what pickups would use, just figured it was an interesting observation lol

    sounds awesome. do you think this is a better option than an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop? thanks for the video

    • @ScottBynoe
      @ScottBynoe  2 роки тому +1

      Hey thanks for watching, glad you dig it. I think the 10 band is a great option too, lots of players do it. Eq is eq...just a different way to hone in and control it. I don't know if I can say one is better or worse than the other, just different strokes for different folks. I've met a lot of players who prefer graphic eqs like the MXR pedals because it's a bit more visual to understand, while others shy away from parametric b/c they don't understand it. I like both, but once you understand a parametric they are pretty neat. Total matter of preference.

    I dream of the day in which a manufacturer releases a Parametric EQ Pedal that offers the 4 cable method so that users can manipulate their tones in both pre-gain and post-gain stages simultaneously. The Boss EQ-200 offers that feature but its a Graphic EQ and not a Parametric EQ. Anyone out there in the industry listening?

    Useing this before a daw to save ram shite is a no brainer. Set it n forget it. You could put it in a effects send/return of a mixer if you use that long haird loud mouthed Canadian Fricker dual mic into a behringer thang. P.s fuck you Glen. Cheers for this I'm deffinately getting one. Endless possibilites for many instruments hopefully. Is it just set for guitar or what lad?
