Can't beat a bit of OOZE. I've finished it on c64 but not Speccy or Amiga. Really shows off how good modern games can be. I actually prefer modern games to the old games, especially as most are 128k supported.
It comes with a USB-A to USB-C lead. The C end in on The Spectrum. So any USB power supply that has an A port and 5V and capable of at least 1 amp, so pretty much any older phone charger, or if you mains sockets have built in USB charging, then these
The ZX Pico, sure is good value for what you get. I've just seen that the designer has taken the PCBs off PCBway though :-( IMO, The Spectrum's value is in the UI and ease at loading and saving (game save state).
With products like this, does the emulator typically run on Linux, or is it running on bare metal? I think it would be fun if somebody "went native" with one of these, exposing the ARM ISA and peripherals, but leaving out the modern OS. Instead, having it boot up into a minimal dev environment.
Is the keyboard still the same membrane? I am a bit worried the keys might stop responding after extensive use just like with the original? Or did they find a way around it?
Still a membrane, although the ribbon connections are not in the same place as the original, so now I'm thinking that if the membrane does go, then where do we get a replacement?
@iNimbleSloth Yeah, that's what caught my eye. No information on if maybe they used more durable material? T kinda sucks if it is the same easy to break membrane from 1980s.
Are you left handed like me? I ask because of how you were holding the joystick. I wish you could swap a/b over on the Competition Pro. It's pretty awkward reaching across for the fire button.
Did you find this on all games? What mode was your TV set to? With mine set to gaming mode all processing of the picture is stopped which eliminates external factor’s introducing lag.
@@jasejj fair. I've seen and read dozens of reviews on UA-cam and Facebook (dedicated group for this device) and honestly you're the first to report it.
Superb Video thank you (:

Thanks for the video. How do you power it? A laptop charger? Or maybe just a standard phone charger?

Thanks a million
Glad you've done a video. Was following your Pico ZX video. I think this unit is great value. How about you?

Typically these type of machines run on some tweaked distro of Linux. What this machine is running I don't know.

@@iNimbleSloth I wonder if you can do everything just using the gamepad? That way I can avoid pressing the buttons.

Sure am. On some of my original joysticks, I took them apart and swapped the wires on buttons.
Did you get a thin protective film to peel off???
There was no film to peel off the keyboard faceplate on mine.
@ that’s interesting cause a couple of unboxing I’ve seen there were a film that you peel off
Looks like a raspberry pi inside
U seen zx hdmi ? Gives u ula+ but no spectra support as yet!

Quite hard to find them in stock anywhere.......
Try Argos, not available for delivery, but some still have stock for collection.
Got mine today, but tbh I think I might end up flipping it on ebay. The lag is unacceptable.

@jasejj That's not your Spectrum but your TV
@@MarcKloos Do you seriously think I didn't try this with other sets? The lag is greater thanmy Batocera box and gets in the way of gaming.
