I think it didnt have to go the way it went between drake and Kendrick but drake predictably took it there and Kendrick was to ready for him to do this. Real fans just wanted to sees bars and when Kendrick dropped the like that vs it set the stage for Cole and Kendrick to match bars once and for all as Cole has been on a terror these past few years and people were anxious to see to prime mcees dual it out. Yo nobody needed or wanted the gossipy dirt slanging. You are kind of misconstruing the issue that many have with Cole. Though i get why he backed out and dont fault him in hinesight. Fast-forward this year, I hadn't realized it's been maybe a decade since I'd even listened to him regularly. So I went back to hear what I'd missed. I was kinda reminded why I stopped listenin' in the first place. I'm not denying his impact and talent at all. Just not for me anymore and that's okay. Some of these stans are delusional. Anyone can still be fans of Drake and accept he lost. No need to lie for this man. The only rap battle Drake ever truly won was against Meek Mill. (Just adding to your comment)
