I agree. I have it. But I collect Squier guitars because they are fairly cheap (or used to be) lol. I have a jaguar, this blue HH mustang, 2 Stratocasters, a $60 pawnshop tele , and a J5 signature Tele but Im also waiting for the metallic orange HH tele and the gunmetal Tele to get back in stock so yeah. Im totally cool with Squiers. I can afford em lol. (Probably the last time anyone says this) this Mustang is the LIGHTEST guitar Ive ever owned. Feather light but a nice guitar kids and adults all over the world have bought and seem to enjoy
The new Sonic Mustangs I think will be even more popular. Especially the SS ones with maple fretboards. I have it in Torino Red and done a bunch of mods to it. I also have a the same Bullet in this video that's now a Bullet Mustang-90.
@@christopheraaron8299 how do you like it right now? any problem with it? im looking to get one as well. ive been only playing acoustic for 20 years never bother with e guitar because of my financial situation. let me know please.
@@emanuelechiarella4717 i might get this, starting to get sick of playing lead. Just made a nice chord progression, using stacked power chords. (use the breaking the chains by dokken intro as an example of stacked power chords.)
I really like the mustang guitar ... My dad got me a 1964 mustang in 1974 wen I was 10 and I rudely routed it out for a humbucker with a screwdriver and a hammer and hooked it up directly to the volume and tone bypass the neck pickup.... And I still have it and it's my most favorite guitar .....
Mine is now a Bullet Mustang-90. I put in P90s, a white pearl pickguard with P90 cutouts, shimmed the neck to pitch it back slightly, locking tuners, roller trees and blue metal control knobs. Also shielded the electronics cavities. I got it on Amazon for $139 on sale.
I kid you not I was looking at this guitar and I was thinking man I hope Landon has a deep dive. So glad to see this unboxing and can’t wait for the deep dive!
Super fun, totally pointless story: I found one of these used on Reverb at a crazy good price. I bought it, paid the asking price, in full and up front. Then two whole days later, I was refunded because the seller said he had “already sold it on eBay” and said he was sorry for the mix up. Then an hour after that, I discovered that it had been relisted on Reverb at a slightly higher price. Apparently, the seller had his son list it for him and he made a mistake and instead of attempting to fix it, tried to cover it up by lying to me and relisting it before his dad found out. Then, because I messaged him after finding the new listing, his dad did find out and still did nothing to fix it. Very frustrating experience. I was lied to several times (that I know of), all for about $50 difference and I can’t even leave them a review. Won’t be buying from “Ruffingtons” again, that’s for sure 🙄
Yeah the one thing about Reverb I'm not a fan of is they make it incredibly difficult to review sellers (and buyers) if you've had a bad experience like this. Just the other week I tried to buy a separate guitar and the person held on to it for about a week and never shipped it to me. I wasn't allowed or afforded the opportunity to leave a review warning others about the experience.
Sounds nice and the color combination white pick guard on that deep blue is great. Has a bit of wooliness to its tones almost like a Les Paul Special. Great deal for the money!
I have a black one that came with white trim. I blacked everything out. Replaced the tuners for some black locking ones. Black pick guard. Bridge. Every thing. I left the pickups in it because they’re awesome. You’d be hard pressed to spend $100 on a pickup and actually be able to consider it an upgrade. I did have to adjust the truss rod and do a good set up on it. But every time I pick it up I am surprised how much better it is than I expected. Definitely the best bang for your buck guitar I’ve ever bought new.
These are the best value by far. I got one a couple of months ago and it is great - way better than the much more expensive Squier Paranormal Super-Sonic I bought at the same time.
These are great guitars man! My first impressions were similar to yours - super light and easy to play, well setup with a nice low action and comfortable neck (radius is really nice and flat which I like). Only thing I’d upgrade are heavier strings, maybe the bridge and tuners. Good that they’re consistent!
I've got one and honestly have to say it is a great guitar. Nice clean tone. It's tough to re---string though. What you need to do is , before putting the string through the hole in the bridge shape the end into a hook or a J shape. This way the string will stick up after you pass it through. Makes it easy to grab.
Yea, it's the same with the early Affinity Squier Strats and Teles with the top loader 6 saddle bridges. Definitely takes a bit of a learning curve to get it right.
Looks like a great guitar. I've been thinking of picking one up and this unboxing is definitely steering me in that direction. Also, you are hilarious. I am loving your videos.
I have just started playing guitar, I began to learn 3 months ago and im loving it and I definitely want to carry it on for the rest of my life. The fender mustang body shape is my dream guitar and blue is my favourite colour, I cant believe that your giving away this gorgeous guitar Landon, I absolutely afore it and would really help with my guitar journey
Saw them on sale at MF for $130 including shipping so had to have one. So much guitar for the money, don't know how they do it. Came with a good factory setup that needed just a little bit of adjustment for what I like. Frets needed to be polished and two or three high ones needed to be lowered. Swapped in some locking tuners and a new set of strings and have been impressed with it ever since.
I love landons content so much- it doesn’t matter what he is talking about, just the way he is is nice to watch- like hanging out. And it keeps me sane while the UK is still locked down
@@eddykidd okay, man, if it makes you feel better . . . I mean, I don’t know what you’re going through right now but if it helps you . . . Chris, will you marry me? (I have a prenup you need to sign, you get none of my musical equipment)

I got one two days ago and man oh man.....I'm glad I know how to fix guitars and intended on refinishing it because mine is pretty bad. Super sharp fret ends and the neck pocket is bigger than the neck heel. Should be a fun job and I'm excited for the finished product.
OMG you're giving "Blue Mustang" away, I'd love to have "Blue"!! The color blue is literally my favorite color and just with in the last few months my desire to learn to play guitar has been rekindled, you see I'm turning 53 in just a few months and I've been on the hunt for the perfect guitar that gives me that " holy crap that's gorgeous and I gotta play it! I'd love to have a blue metallic guitar like that... I'd be excited as hell, good luck to all!
The very best overall value guitar purchase I've made in my long life was buying one of these back in January of 2019 just for fun. For US $129.99 plus sales tax I got a rockin' little guitar that can handle almost any task. The only change I made was installing an inexpensive set of Wilkenson locking tuners. I still own it, and play it almost every day. Way to go Fender!
People actually commented that you don't look enthused while opening the boxes ? People say the darndest things on UA-cam. Great review as always. These guitars are outstanding and the short scale is great for old geezers like me. I can gig for 3 or 4 hours with one and not feel finger stiffness the following day. The tone is outstanding and they cut through the mix very well.
The first real electric guitar I ever got to play was a late 60s Competition Blue Mustang with the racing stripe owned by my neighbor back in 1976. Thus my guitar love affair began. I’ve yet to own a Mustang. Need.
The Jazzmaster hanging over your left shoulder is one that I wavered over, but didn't pull the trigger. From the sparkly body, to the reduced controls (meaning no toggle switch in the strum path), to the rosewood neck, it's such a nice guitar.
I bought one about 2 years ago for $129 & it is a good guitar, but I upgraded the pickups to lower output Alnico II’s, & upgraded the tuners to Gotoh tuners. It plays great now. I’ll have to say that because the neck is unfinished it is more prone to humidity & weather changes.
It looks very light and thin, it's nice to hear the guitar without any effect, as it is I like the philosophy of renewing guitars, gives you the opportunity to test many many instruments instead of just having the essential 3, this way you can learn from different configurations, shapes, pickups, materials, hardware and at the end keeping the ones you feel better at playing, the ones that suits you
I have this guitar , I play the shit out of it at local gigs . I put a white pearloid pickguard on it and changed the knobs otherwise it’s stock and ladies and gents it’s a player ❤️
It's eerie how I never followed your channel until very recently, but the stuff you've reviewed is pretty much exactly what I like. And this is after so many years of playing music and having several phases. For about 4 months now, this guitar has been on my radar as one I'd like to buy at some point and mod. Anyways, keep it up.
I have tuners, nut and string tress.waiting to upgrade something.last few days I've been ready to pull the trigger on this axe.also some heavy gauge string like .11's to compensate for the 24" scale and slinky feel.
Very nice 👍 I had this strange notion to go on Amazon and check out guitars I found an inexspensive guitar 🎸 telecaster was 109 dollars LYX telecaster left handed all my guitars are made left handed I could get over how great it sounds maple neck ash body color l can't get over it even has a vintage style telecaster bridge polished finish glossy nice

Awesome video. For me this had a hard rock/punk rock starter vibe to it.
Welcome aboard!
Beautiful guitar. It’s crazy how beautiful just simple squires are.
Hi Landon. for a first impression it looks good. Looking forward to the deep dive.
I have tuners, nut and string tress.waiting to upgrade something.last few days I've been ready to pull the trigger on this axe.also some heavy gauge string like .11's to compensate for the 24" scale and slinky feel.
Got one ordered tonight.cant wait to get er'and start the upgrades.
@@brandonkoch3852 Good thinking. The scale length really does go well with thicker strings.
I'd like to try one of these short scale guitar
Looks good, can’t wait till DD! Sounds good for price point. 🎶
I like this dark blue squir mustang, but that player mustang with P90s looked even nicer!
Wow... it really shows that deep blue color... 🤙🏻
