That was painful to watch Rory. But I do have to say - that watching them have fun is really what it's all about. Good sportsmanship throughout this match which I certainly respect and enjoy seeing. You are right Rory - there was just no 3rd shot skill on either side. But I too had no 3rd shot drop when I first started playing so I understand the challenge of learning to hit a shot that requires a lot of practice to execute. Excellent analysis once again. Oh, and lastly, I agree, watching the guy in the blue shirt hit a backhand punch was a little painful. He needs to retire that shot very soon if he wants to move up in level.
Loving these videos. It would be hilarious to have our (beginner) games picked apart. Can’t imagine Rory’s reaction to my wife switching the paddle to her left hand to hit a left-handed forehand instead of a right-handed backhand. 😂
I'm newer to the game. I have a solid three months of playing. I suddenly find myself switching to left hand. But I can hit a left hand drive to the back of the court with control. I can hit a good unattackable drop left handed, and I can hit an atp left handed. At the nvz I use my backhand for blocks and speedups. I consider myself a decent 3.5 player.
My wife is ambidextrous. She can play as well with her left hand as she can with her right. I'm right-handed but I will subconsciously switch to the left when running to the side and the ball is just out of reach of my backhand. It's not something I think about. I got my first left-handed ATP yesterday. My opponent said "I can't believe you got to that ball" I laughed and replied "Yeah, I can't believe it either"
Thank you for this. I’ve been watching pros play and trying to pick up on their technique, but watching players closer to my level along with your commentary is very helpful. Do you have any videos showing good examples of third shots? I haven’t paid any attention to that shot when I’m playing, and I’m seeing the importance after watching this video.
Yes. I have a few focusing in on the third shot. In my opinion, it's the most important shot in all of pickleball. I have 207 videos. Look for third shot in the title. Thanks for watching.
Looks like they are having a great time and just starting out which is the best way to get better. You’re a bit too critical when they are doing their best and have to start somewhere.
Thanks for watching and thanks for stating your opinion. I actually could have been much more critical. I try my best not to make someone look foolish.
The guy in the blue shirt is Logan and the guy on the left is Peter. I just played with Logan tonight and he is much better now. He just started playing in march of this year
Logan did something a couple of times, maybe more, I don't always see advanced players do and that is communicating with your partner with an "OUT" or "MINE call". Well done!
Also, next question if you’re new to court sports and team sports and using a racket, is it more important to learn the strokes before you learn the rules and how to play pickle ball which is the thing you should learn first? And yes, your commentary is very, very valuable and helpful. Thank you.
I'm glad my videos are helpful. It's very easy to learn the rules. You should learn those before you step on the court. Learning. The correct swing is much more difficult. You should probably take a lesson.
At 18:26 the player in the blue should've of let his partner return the ball with his forehand since ball came to his partners side of the court. My favorite question to ask all players is what sport they played before Pickleball. I am curious to know these players sports history. I myself played softball and field hockey and started playing pickleball 5 years ago. I still need to work on my 3rd shot drops lol I love driving the ball lol
Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching. Usually you can tell when someone has converted to pickleball from tennis or ping pong. I don't think any of these players played tennis or ping pong before playing pickleball. I know the guy in the blue, with the way he hits his backhand, probably never played tennis in his life.
When coaching new players, we pair players of equal skill level and tailor the drills based on their skill level, followed by a game with critiques during the game. After the game we rotate coaches. This continues until the time runs out.
For a beginner like me, this is really helpful. Thank you.
Awesome. Thanks for watching.

Everybody's got to start somewhere; not everyone is Anna Bright right out of the gate #2.5Pickleball
Good point. Most players will never be Anna Bright. But, that's okay.

As always, thanks for your comments. You're very spot-on with what you said.
The advantage of playing poorly is that when you have a good shot then it’s a celebration 🎆
Good point. Thanks for watching.
I’m a beginner and sure learned a lot watching this video. Thanks for your comments and suggestions!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching. I am glad it is helping you.

Haha! If she can do it, more power to her. Thanks for watching.

haha. we let our friend play using two paddles at the same time.

@@pickleballpick-apart9787 I’ll have to check. Thanks. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours.

Cool. Glad he's getting better. Maybe he watched this video and took some of my advice. Thanks for watching.
@@pickleballpick-apart9787 I sent him the video and he watched it. He told me that all of the criticism you had are things he has worked on
@@christophertynanpickleball That's awesome! Hope it helps!

That is an interesting shirt I must say.
Glad you like it! Haha.

I have been playing for about 5 weeks and hit 4 aces yesterday,so probably easier hitting them at beginner level then maybe in the upper levels
It depends on who you're playing against. It doesn't happen very often at upper levels. Thanks for watching.
I can confirm that the 2.5 level is incredibly frustrating. I almost quit pb because I was stuck in this level for about one year.
Glad you got out of it. Thanks for watching.
Watching videos can be helpful to a certain extent, but drilling improves play 100x more.
Very true! Professionals drill about three times more than they actually play games.

Yeah! Thanks for watching.
How come they’re not calling the score at the beginning of the game!?
Sometimes they do in the viewers. Just can't hear it. The volume was turned way down when I was commenting over it. Thanks for watching.
I hope watching this didn't pull me down a level :-|
Haha! Glad you watched.
2.0
That's about as low as it gets. Maybe 2.5??? Thanks for watching.
