Es gibt im ganzen Weihnachtsland wohl keinen schöneren Platz für einen Weihnachtsmarkt als den um das Rathaus in Pirna. Inspiriert vom italienischen Maler Canaletto, der die Sandsteinstadt in 11 berühmten Veduten würdigte, findet hier seit 2013 der Canalettomarkt, der Pirnaer Weihnachtsmarkt statt. Er ist einer der wenigen Märkte hierzulande, die auch nach den Feiertagen noch geöffnet haben. Für manche ist der für sein einzigartiges Lichtkonzept und wunderbare Rathausprojektionen bekannte Canalettomarkt noch ein Geheimtipp. Für andere und insbesondere Familien und die vielen Gäste aus Tschechien ist er längst schon einer der schönsten sächsischen Christmärkte.

The Canaletto Market in Pirna attracts numerous visitors with its historical flair and the atmospheric ambience of the old town.
