Wow...impressive work by the girls! I agree with akbarsrar...great tones overall... You girls can pull off an Alfred Reed's composition really well... While some passages were a bit out of the tune...especially after 3 min onwards...you girls managed to pull it back together and ended pretty strong... Great contender and all the best!
I've got mixed feelings about this... This has totally got nothing to do with the performance at all but I just want to highlight on the music that they are playing. This wind orchestra I assume is from a MUSLIM community. I'm just wondering if they have any clue or idea about Alfred Reed's music at all. For your info, the Late composer, Dr Alfred Reed is a Jew. (Dia adalah seorang YAHUDI) and his works like 'Armenian Dances Part 1/2' or 'Praise Jerusalem' are Jew influenced music
My point is, the fact that these MUSLIM students are playing a Jew's music is very contradicting... Just two cents of my opinion. I am a muslim and I have played this music before. Not being a hypocrite but just thought you should know the consequences and possibly sinned (berdosa) from the point of Islam. But ini semua terpulang pada masing2 individu. Salamz.
Superb harmony! I always love this kind of band size and sound. The tones were great. Maybe just intonation on solo parts. Good luck girls!
i love saxophone
