Exactly. PAYDAY 2 OST has a special place in my heart, but let Gustavo cook. You may not like the new OST but you can't deny the identity is strong and Gustavo is talented, I really like the direction he went with for PD3 and can't wait for more

Hot take, but I've loved many more of Gustavo's tracks than Simon's, even in Payday 2. I never liked how the vast majority of Simon's tracks just sounded like rave club music, but Gustavo was able to just take the music his own directions while still keeping the trademark electronic bits where appropriate. And man, he's been just killing it with Payday 3; yea, it's super electronic, but it just has more personality and sense of danger and drive than Simon's imho.

@@nol2521fr, Contra feels waaay more action packed and would fit perfectly for this heist and this track fits more to Road Rage, since the song isn't fast, which fits dymanic of following slow truck.
Stealth is so awesome, I've played PD2 with PD3 OST mod and playing Diamond Store was atypically felt action packed when all I did was dropping all bags to the van, lmao.
Stealth 3 and so on are goated

this honestly feels too epic for a random jewelry store heist that has basically no connection to the plot beyond "we need more money", this feels like it should be the theme for the payday gang solving the core secrets of the conspiracy

This isnt hard and heavy like the first game, not as rythmic as the second, but it portrays some kind of sorrow and regret, and then it becomes electronic just in time for the assault. Well see how more heists turn out
The sorrow comes from realizing the rats are not to scale. :P

Hmm, the chord progression at the beginning of the assault phase reminds me of one of the more recent tracks from Payday 2 but I can’t remember which one.

As much as I dislike Gustavo's take on Payday soundtracks I gotta admit that he really nailed this one. Really fits the tone of the game.

@@JankesoowskiI feel the exact opposite, and in my opinion almost every track fits the heist perfectly.
No Rest for the wicked feels like an up-beat "we're back in the game" track.
Contra has heavy metallic drums and other industrial sounds that perfectly fit the dirty and gritty aesthetic of the heist.
Ruby Ruse has that classic heist feel with guitars, drums and electronic elements mixed in.
Cryptoshot feels like a fucking John Wick movie which is a perfect fit for a nightclib heist.
Masterful Deceit is okay for its heist imo, but i still like the smooth feeling of the art gallery combined with some more heavy hitting choppy sounds that fit the more industrial location of the building.
Heat Wave is the least fitting imo, and just feels kinda generic compared to the other tracks of the game.
Ice Punch fits the heist, but the track is pretty repetetive which i personally dislike.
Sky-High Score is great, and the assault intro with the synth/guitars being the only thing you can hear really makes it feel like this is a very meaningful job and sells the feeling of robbing a huge penthouse.

Honestly I can't remember how it sounds, and I played this heist over 20 times...

Like I said, the best track in the game, gives me that 'fighting for your life' vibes.
Nightclub:
From heaven to hell, worst track in the game. It's bland, repetitive and worst of all, reminds me of Cyberpunk

Just like Road Rage, I honestly can't remember how it sounds like.

Quality is all over the place, some parts are good while others makes me wanna mute the music alltogether.

Again, can't remember what it sounds like, even though I grinded challenges for hours on this heist.
Summary:
Seems like the biggest problem with the music is that half of the tracks aren't even memorable since I'm unable to remember them 1 week after I stopped playing. We can argue all day but the truth is that music is subjective. If you like the soundtrack good for you. Me, I can fix that with mods. This game has bigger problems than mediocre soundtrack anyway.
