- I check out downtown Dallas on a warm Spring night in April 2024. How will it compare with Blackpool?

Dallas looks like an affluent city. Looks so vibrant and amazing at night too
I always loved to see the lights on the trees.

wow Stephen you have done a great job making these videos i think it's about time the council in blackpool started making blackpool in credible because blackpool is still in the 70s it needs updating making it look beautiful bringing it into 21 century Dallas reminds me of London with all those big tall buildings. London is very beautiful. Got a lot of sightseeing things.to see I think Dallas is beautiful all those tall buildings. I would like to say thank you Stephen for showing us Dallas. Give me Blackpool anytime good old British pub's oozing with character
Looks like a prosperous City. There may be some parts that are grim of course but there is a lot of wealth in those building as compared to the awful stuff built in Blackpool and the rest of the UK. Looks like a big grid plan like most US cities and very unlike the UK. Hard to get lost! Good to see the place as I have never been to Texas.

Looks pretty busy and banging there in Downtown Dallas Stephen. Still revelling in that superb total eclipse capture of yours Stephen. Plenty of beer monsters in town a bit different to downtown Blackpool. Take note Blackpool Council all the trees in Dallas. Glad your home safe and sound.

Very interesting video. I really like the look of Dallas - seems like the "council" ( or whatever they call it ) know how to keep the centre to the city attractive. Trees. Yes Trees. and lots of colour.😉
Council is correct.
Its amazing how the streets are so clean for a major city. And yes, the Petunia's would probably get trashed in Blackpool or any other British city by the bad lads. Clearly, there must be more "consequences-for-your-actions" in Texas.

Looks to be a lovely clean city Stephen, plenty to see and do and I love the lit up Hotels. Petunias in Blackpool as you said would last two minutes. Utterly interesting video and laid back narration, well done. You mentioned looking the wrong way when crossing the road. Try and think carefully when you do it. I worked in Sau Paulo for 3 months. One day on a quiet Sunday I looked right, nothing! Stepped into the road, screech of brakes behind me as I continued to look right. I was VERY lucky he stopped in time. You walked over some small glass squares in the pavement which you have told us about in Blackpool at the top of Church St. The ones tarmacked over. Presumably there are rooms below. The night life reminds me of an Italian piazza at night. Thank you
You are a man to be admired how you did not get lost walking around those Dallas streets, i know i would have done.

Down town is easy....3 main streets go east and west. Going west you run into west end, Dealy plaza and the Hyatt regency ball. East gets you to deep ellum and Fair Park. Att discovery district (screen) is in the middle; convention ctr is blocks away. North is uptown; nw is victory park.....all the fancy restaurants. 👌🏾

Impressed by Dallas, though the culture there is different to the UK in regards to going out drinking. Much prefer that vibe you show here to the coke heads and stag and hen parties in UK cities at the weekend.

When you were on Mainstreet facing the AT&T Discovery District, if you would have turned to your left (East) and walked about 20 minutes you would have crossed in an area called Deep Ellum...that's where EVERYTHING happens, some good, some bad but its a whole different world 😂😂😂
I think I might have skirted with that area on my day video. I was very impressed at how clean Dallas was compared with other US cities.

Very few Americans will have heard of Blackpool. Most of them only seem interested in how far from London I am.
Another great video Stephen but did I catch you a few times J walking, it's a fine I'm sure if you get caught, but I could be wrong maybe it's changed. Looks like a great atmosphere there but I'll say it again please be careful when you're walking about filming as you never know the minute

The nightlife culture is very different.
In the 90s I used to frequent Squires bar in Urbana Illinois.they had Bass!! Cold and fizzy 🤢

i went USA back in 2002 west side Seattle . i found the people so friendly although i got told off for Jay walking lol. Robocop was filmed in Dallas anyone that dont know :)

Any area in a big city with a bus stop and especially a Greyhound Bus Station is *not* a good area in the USA.

Here is something to watch.. London 2 am nightlife district Sleepless in the city, tripper tours. It’s certainly a walk on the wildest of side!

Americans tend to identify with the homes of our ancestors. If your great-grandparents came from Ireland 150 years ago - you're Irish! Most of the "Irish" pubs in my area (NY/NJ metro) are actually run by people from Ireland. But they are over the top.
