This song is about love, but it also has sexual undertones. The garden is a woman's womb, the rose is her sexuality and the lily is her virginity. Horses are male sexuality, and fear of horses is fear of sex. In the old days, it was the parents (in this case, the mother) who decided who a girl would marry.
This is rather your interpretation of this text, my friend... I doubt that the intention of the author of this particular text was to make it erotic. Video with them actually dancing and singing, 'how thay used to do it in the old days' would give you the proper context, as far as a feeling of that spirit of polish folklore goes.
Hello Rob : ) First of all, it's really fantastic to see that you're creating an episode about Polish folk music. I see it is really difficult for you to understand Polish folk music without the wider context of what life was like in the Polish countryside. I recommend you to watch the film "Chłopi" (Peasants) from 2023, it will help you to build a point of reference to Polish culture. Here is a short preview of the film: ua-cam.com/video/amHCTTvWP4o/v-deo.html.
Many of old folk polish songs are about love and sex, haha. Title is usually about nature and...the rest of song is about girl and boy who want (or don't want to) be together.
In this song, you must take into account that in Polish the pronunciation is dialectal - the syllables sz and cz are flattened to s and c. This is what uneducated people living in villages once said. Both the pronunciation and the syntax are very anachronistic. And the song is very frivolous, but so understated that it escaped the censorship of the old people ;)
@@RobReacts1 I'm totally puzzled and amused by your reaction 😂😂. How come that the sexual undertones of this text are so obvious to Poles and completely missed by Rob? 🤪🤣 She is young and innocent so is afraid of his horse - Rob, really, is it just you so chaste 🤣😂or all British men are like that ?😉😂
In the next Polish folklore film, please check out "ech poleczko" which is equally beautiful (and makes more sense lyrically) and apart from that it's a great film and keep it up!

Guzowianki / Nie jedź luby
listen to to the bant Mazowsze and Slask
Rob, watch the Polish movie ''Kiler'' Good music and sense of humor!!!!!!
I would imagine that biggest 'magic' of this type of song, is that thy really used to dance and sing, and it was like tribes sing and dance around a fire, but more in Polish/Slovakian blood giving e, pression in that unique way.
It was in World of Tanks
Many of old folk polish songs are about love and sex, haha. Title is usually about nature and...the rest of song is about girl and boy who want (or don't want to) be together.
You should listen to jesień - tańcuj from the new movie called the peasants (chłopi)
In this song, you must take into account that in Polish the pronunciation is dialectal - the syllables sz and cz are flattened to s and c. This is what uneducated people living in villages once said. Both the pronunciation and the syntax are very anachronistic. And the song is very frivolous, but so understated that it escaped the censorship of the old people ;)
I also recommend checking out the only minus - there are no subtitles. - Guzowianki - Eh, poleczko
Check "Ech poleczka" Guzowianki and band Rokiczanka 👍❣️

A song about love never You've heard of something like this ?
How does it connect to Love? haha
@@RobReacts1to takie figlarne rozmowy kiedy przychodzi pora na amory.
@@RobReacts1yes... words in this song create coneversation...this is kind of flirt. Game of words. 😏
@@RobReacts1 I'm totally puzzled and amused by your reaction 😂😂. How come that the sexual undertones of this text are so obvious to Poles and completely missed by Rob? 🤪🤣 She is young and innocent so is afraid of his horse - Rob, really, is it just you so chaste 🤣😂or all British men are like that ?😉😂
Song for dancing
for sure!
Folk Song Miracle Of Sound - VALHALLA CALLING ft. Peyton Parrish (Assassin's Creed) Duet Version

In the next Polish folklore film, please check out "ech poleczko" which is equally beautiful (and makes more sense lyrically) and apart from that it's a great film and keep it up!
Rob you have to understand you won’t be able to understand the total meaning.
You must be born in the Polish mountain to feel it !
Born in Poland and grown up in CANADA.
Cheers!
Don't give me that not understand the meaning because im not from Poland. Ok, whats the meaning?
@@RobReacts1 What I mean by that you have to have the blood and the heart of the mountain people to really feel it.
The rhythm is one thing and translations is another.
Do you read me.
Hey I am just saying it’s hard sometimes for foreigners to pick up the rhythm.
But I am glad you like the song.
May I recommend another song for you to study;
CZESLAW NIEMEN
SONG IS CALLED: DZIWNY JEST THE SWIAT.
Translation: The World is weird.
Cheers
It's about a Polish village girl that fell in love with a boy. And I belive the "horse" in the first stanza is symbolizing the you know what (wink wink) same as "rooster" but in British.@@RobReacts1
Actually, not in the Polish mountain. This song is originally from Lubelszczyzna- no mountains here, sorry. But I can see your point- they sing it the way Polish highlanders would.
@@katarzynapienkosz9226 Thanks for the lecture.
Appreciate it.
Have a great ☝️
The song is in the dialect

Canadian Folk (top of the top my opinion)

słowa tej piosenki to polska wiejska gwara...myślę, że niemożliwa do przetłumaczenia.
I recommend you check out Polish national dances.
Polish Gypsies also sings very nice bend name ROMA
If you wanna make it deep, some people found out that the polish highlander music have the same unique vibe as carabeans.
Poles brought vodka, blacks brought.. You know what. And it turned out... Nice...

Rob, I repeat my request :) for reactions to Adam Sztaba's song - "Orkiestra Online - Co mi panie dasz"
Its on the watch list :)
@@RobReacts1 could i add just two songs to the watchlist?
1. Dawid Podsiadlo - Let you down (a song made for cyberpunk series) ua-cam.com/video/BnnbP7pCIvQ/v-deo.html
2. Laboratorium Piesni - Sztoj pa moru (a belarusian song by a polish band) ua-cam.com/video/04fEWQOwUD4/v-deo.html
I think you will like these. :)
Perfect ;) Thanks Mate
@@JRTP-Bart77PL I learned about Laboratorium Piesni when i was listening to slavic music in general and i really liked how they sing. Thought you might like it, staying in the folk music theme of the video :)

I think lots of lyrics in this song are a "stuffing", as I call it... filler words. Something akin to "Roses are red, violets are blue"
