The title really misled me. "Apple Watch FINALLY Got a Glucose Monitor" sounds like there's going to be a glucose monitor on the next Apple Watch. The title should have been "Apple Watch May FINALLY Get a Glucose Monitor". Really disappointing click betrayal.
Don’t care about that. Clickbaits are the norm now, and this one is not so bad. I’m grateful that there is a reliable way to track blood sugar using the Apple watch with a 3rd party tool.
Yeah, you’re right. But regardless of this particular function, the Apple Watches development in general has been glacial. I know many people who loved their AW, but gave up on it due to terrible battery life, which Apple has never improved. It’s also very thick, and the rectangular shape is off putting for some.
cmon bro.. we all clicked cause we thought that the apple watch actually had a blood glucose sensor. Absolute clickbait, and if u really didn't mean for it to be clickbait, u would change the title.
Super interested. Found out I had grade 2 fatty liver disease this month. Cutting sugar out and losing weight are what the doctors are saying to fully reverse it. I can’t wait for Apple Watch to add glucose monitoring. But I seriously doubt the accuracy with a blood sample/interstitial fluid reading.
What Apple Watch face are you using with your Dexcom? I am a T1D wearing a G6 Dexcom and the AW complication issue not being large and in the middle of the AW is problematic. Thanks for the info. I may try the G7 again with my AW to see if the connection can be better.
@@AppleInsiderCan you please try using the new magic keyboard that came out for only the iPad Pro and can you try and use the new keyboard on an iPad Air? Please I really wanna know. I know they said it doesn’t but it doesn’t hurt to try.
i have been an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic for a few years now. having to lance my fingers is the reason i have just about stopped checking my glucose. i have a severe needle phobia and have to get someone else to administer my insulin. turns out, i am VERY sensitive to changes in how i feel and can almost always tell when i have a spike and amazingly even correctly predict what the reading will be within about 30 points plus or minus nearly everytime i do check it, consistently. before anyone says anything, i already know this isnt best idea, despite the accuracy of my track record. it is just something i cannot bring myself to do... hopefully, someone will finally perfect this technology and we will see it soon.
I am very interested. I am on a ketogenic lifestyle. I was prediabetic and want to keep track of my blood sugar to avoid prediabetes and diabetes which runs in my family.
I wear an Apple Watch Ultra + a wrist worn BP monitor. I’d love Apple to include non-invasive glucose monitoring without the need for another worn device.
So still nothing from freestyle. Yeah, I’m hoping they bring it to the watch soon. I think that’s the only thing that would make me feel the need to upgrade from my series 6.
I’m a Type 2 diabetic who’s on almost every class of drug for diabetes and my A1C is still above 7. I would love to have a glucose monitor on my watch, but since I’m only Type 2, I can’t get insurance to pay for a CGM like the Dexcom but they do pay for the Freestyle Libre.
I hope it also comes for Ultra 2, expensive watch not worth many options, if it comes out from Apple Watch that they will incorporate sugar measurement into it
My doctor wants me to get a glucose monitor I've always wanted to get a non-invasive version. I think I could more intelligently plan my meals being able to monitor the consequences of them as opposed to guessing and hoping.
BS talk. The GCM is connecting absolut fine. Had it as Dexcom G6, Freestyle Libre 2 and 3. Plus they are medical approved. The other methods are for a good reason not medical approved. If as a non Typ1 or Typ2 Diabetes person, yes this might be a nice thing. But as Typ1 you are happy of the good GCMs.
Everyone will be different. For me, the G7 was an absolute game changer. Stayed on far better, was more accurate, connects to my pump, watch, and iPhone at the same time, AND will soon be extended to a 14 day wear time. Huge upgrade.
Displaying metrics of a monitor is not monitoring. This shows a complete lack of understanding towards what the on-wrist monitoring the media has discussed is.
I'm still looking forward to a day that I can get a reliable heartbeat readings from my Apple Watch. Too often when I exercise my Apple Watch heartbeat figure is dark or gray, no matter how I adjust the bands.
I'm very interested in using a CGM for a short span of like 3 months. I've been 95% carnivore for 6 months now and in good health. I'm just mainly interested in finding out what foods really trigger my blood sugar, so when I re-introduce them, I will know which ones are better or worse. I also am trying to talk my wife into this also. Although as of now, she is not too interested in doing that.
The problem is that you cant buy sensors in Sweden, that is when you are not already very sick and need insulin. Hope the future opens for prevention too. Only buying a watch and that’s it would be my dream.
It will NOT replace these sensors though. Apple will not be getting into the CGM space. It requires an insane degree of government oversight because of the glucose readings aren’t reliable and accurate, you could easily kill someone by taking the wrong amount of insulin. I’d love to skip the dedicated CGM too but I know it won’t happen. At least for a very long time
@@AppleInsiderCan you please try using the new magic keyboard that came out for only the iPad Pro and can you try and use the new keyboard on an the new iPad Air? Please I really wanna know. I know they said it doesn’t but it doesn’t hurt to try.
I am using the Dexcom G7 with the direct to watch feature. I have had quite a bit of signal loss issues on the watch and I think it's because I wear my watch on my left wrist and the center is on my right arm. When I change sensors, I'm going to try it on my stomach, which is where I found the best connectivity before the direct to Watch connection.
Stomach is always better, but I haven't had too much of an issue with that same situation. My sensor is on my right arm now and my watch is on my left wrist, but maybe because I sit at the computer so much?
No, it did. It finally got its own glucose sensor that communicates it directly with it. No need for an iPhone, no receiver, just a direct-to-watch sensor and it's absolutely incredible for those that use them.
I'm sorry Greg, why do you think this is clickbait? Apple watch finally got an actual glucose sensor. You no longer need an iPhone or anything in between! This is absolutely huge!
As a type 2; I’ve had it well controlled for a very long time. I would absolutely love if Apple could put a sensor in the watch to at minimum keep me updated and keep an eye on the trending numbers like you said. I’m all for it. Can’t wait for it to be available. Once it is ; that’s when I’ll probably upgrade to the newest Ultra.
I reported them to Google. The monitor is still the inserted sensor in your arm or abdomen that monitors your glucose, the iPhone was the middleman, now you just don't need it within Bluetooth range, the watch nor the iPhone ever monitored your glucose but maybe one day! This is clickbait, misinformation. The watch monitors your heartbeat, sleep, etc. This content creator needs to look up the definition of the word monitor but should be ashamed of themselves for misleading people!

That’s all they do I feel like
Apple perfecting blood glucose monitoring on their Watch will be _huge_ news. You won't miss it.

Click bait
Glucose monitoring is probably one of the top most important feature the watch should truly have!

I retitle this: A company makes an app that works on the watch
I’m interested in glucose monitoring, to see how it changes with the symptoms of my various illnesses.
At 3:16 what watch face it that? I have the G7 too
I am T2 and am looking for a watch that will monitor so as to help take me into remission by monitoring the food that I eat.
I’m in need of that! Have wondered when Apple would implement that.
I am really interested in the Glucose monitor. I just bought an Apple Ultra 2 and thought that app was in it but…Not there.

What brand is the leather wrist that you have on your Apple Watch series 9? Looks fantastic!
Misleading title. But this feature would be life-changing for diabetics, especially type 1’s like me.
Would love to see that be implemented on the apple watch
This won't be, but a general one will. Hopefully in the next year or two

very interested in a glucose monitor on Apple Watch
Wildly interested in monitoring glucose. More data > less data
I am definitely interested

Totally interested!

I would absolutely get a watch with glucose monitor, if it was accurate
Glucose monitoring will be the reason I buy the next Apple Watch. Right now I wear a continuous sensor that outputs to my iPhone.
Misleading title. Way lame.
Wrong title.
Absolutely interested in being able to eliminate finger sticks or arm pods!
So still nothing from freestyle. Yeah, I’m hoping they bring it to the watch soon. I think that’s the only thing that would make me feel the need to upgrade from my series 6.
A non-invasive glucose monitor? Bring it. This is click bait.

I honestly don't feel this is clickbait at all. They literally released an Apple Watch glucose monitor. It's freaking life changing.
