"What's the Matter with You? - Ellen Whyte with The Blackbird Flyers (Boogie-blues shuffle)

I had a lot of fun with this one. My brother Terry asked me to play several parts on this recording he did for Portland vocalist Ellen Whyte. He thought of this while I was in town visiting, and I had to scramble sketching horn parts at the last minute. I also had to get my boogie woogie piano chops together and play saxes, clarinet and keyboard bass. You are treated to some pretty great trumpet playing by another brother, Roger. Being a session musician is something I've always loved to do, and my brother took advantage of it by asking me to play on this CD of Ellen's as well as many other recording sessions. If you feel like cutting a rug on this upbeat blues shuffle, go for it!
