The Full Story of Eveline - Before You Play Resident Evil Village

- The abilities of bioweapons have been constantly escalating in Resident Evil at a gradual pace, but it wasn't until pretty recently that the series entered into the realm of flat-out mind control, which happened with Eveline in 2017's Resident Evil 7.
And though Ethan Winters managed to deal with her in pretty permanent fashion in that game, if there's one thing that the series has taught us over the years, it's that things - especially bioweapons - keep finding ways to come back, in some way or the other. And so, with Resident Evil Village not far away, here, we're going to recount the full story of Eveline.
One thing i don't understand about RE7 if she wanted a family then why she infected the family when they were nice to her? She could happily live with them
Because she was never a real child at all amd didn't understand human feelings or concepts like family just what the scientists educated her with, which was very little if anything at all.
She was genetically engineered to do that and act like that, so even though she wanted a family, that was the only way she knew how.
Because that game would suck arse
She was worried that they would react poorly when they found out that she was a mold.

Rose is referred to as being ‘the new Eveline’ but it’s metaphorical more than literal. Rose is not Eveline reincarnated. Eveline was created by Connections using the mold that Mother Miranda gave them, as well as DNA from Mother Miranda’s dead child Eva that she also gave them. Miranda wanted a resurrection of her dead child Eva, but the result was just Eveline, who was kind of a test tube half-clone infected with the mold. But Eveline had power over the mold, and due to Eveline’s actions in Louisiana Ethan Winters became a kind of mold carrier-he was regenerated by the mold and basically made of mold, but still looked normal and had his own free will. Ethan then fathered Rosemary Winters with his wife Mia, and because of Ethan being made of mold, Rose was born infused with mold. It’s implied that because Rose was born of the mold (by being born of Ethan) Rose would have power over the mold like Eveline did. So Rose isn’t Eveline, but she is technically Eveline’s descendant through the mold (as the mold was passed from Eveline, to Ethan, to Rose). It makes Rose the spiritual successor to Eveline, so to speak.

@@nichollsoli yes, can confirm. And the reason Eveline kept looking for a family was because it's likely programmed to act that way by Miranda. Since all Miranda wanted was to resurrect her daughter "eva".

Man this video kinda made me feel bad for Evie. Especially when she utters that "why does everyone hate me line?" She may be the most tragic villain in RE lore (outside of Revelations 2 which I am still playing lol ) .
@@TheGabberman9000 damn you're right. Though she wasn't the main antagonist Lisa's story was messed up. I still think Evie's edges out Lisa's because Lisa didn't seem to be sentient or cognizant to the world around her like Evelyn was. Evie in a sense wanted a loving family as it seems like she had been conditioned to want from various scenes in RE7. With Lisa I didn't get that feeling. Tthough in fairness I haven't played REmake since 2002 so there could be files, notes, or scenery that denote how Lisa still has shreds of her humanity left but can't control the effects of the virus or if she's just a husk of her former self like William Berkin was. Either way though Lisa's story was sad AF.

She was also a Scientist who wanted to develop a product i.e. a better species of a human being using who's DNA she would heal an ailing friend or family member?

I'm going through it my 3rd time 💀💀
On my 2nd play through, I tried (and barely succeeded) the complete in less than 4hr. Had to use a guide to help me speed run.
Right now I'm trying to collect all the coin, bubble heads, and files. Also trying to do "open crate 3 or less times" and also "use 3 or less aid kits".
So far only used 1 med kit, so wish me luck 💀💀

Don't quote me on this but I think Eveline was actually born; it's just that the Connections injected her with the Mold while she was still a fetus so the Mold was incorporated in her DNA.

Some part of her probably wanted to be nice, but since she's been in a lab her whole life and has crazy powers , when she gets upset the only way she knows to express her anger is violence theough the molded, and manipulation theough her mind control. . That's how I think about it anyway. Even if you're grown in a lab I bet you'd still have many regular human emotions. Evelyn's story is heartbreaking, such a good character imo. Wish they could have saved her someway. Injected her with some antifungal or something and stop her rapid aging. Idk, I think about that sometimes. Like all she knows Is controll, manipulation, and loneliness. She's willing to do anything to be part of a family which leads to .. well, all the crazy stuff in re7.

Wow……..Ive never played resident evil myself but i have seen videos over time and i understand alot. these kids in RE ( mostly girls) had gone through so much hell. like these kids just couldn’t live a normal life without being infected or killed or used as test experiments……….its really sad honestly
So one twist, I guess, on RE8, (spoiler alert). Apparently the fungus was not developed by anyone but existed for over a hundred years. Then it was discovered around 1918 by RE8's main antagonist...it kind of throws alot of the old canon away tbh. RE8 definitely feels even more like Silent Hill in terms of mood and vibe.

It only feels like Silent Hill due to the Donna Beneviento part. Otherwise, it's just the typical RE jump scares except for that one creepy segment.

why do I have a feeling Chris is now in Wesker's position... they talked about four families...we have seen one in RE6 with Helena and Leon facing Simmons. Simmons family might still be in the background then back to spencer when he made wesker....wesker had antibodies as well which he passed onto his own son Jake, and Sherry has it as well doesn't that make them the first few successful bioweapons? this includes Jill before her death. or would Jake be only a vessel to bring back Wesker? everything Wesker did lead up to this with the unknown help of spencer, simmons and ada...even jill....maybe jill would have been the perfect vessel for Rose? what yall think?

They were such good people 😔 they were really bouta give two people food and shelter out of the kindness of their hearts only to lose everything because of their kindness. And even after everything Eveline did to them he still empathized with her.
She probably killed more people than a certain gold club wielder yet has a larger fanbase of sympathizers to her plight.
Can Capcom make an alternate game where Eveline gets captured instead of killed, and grows up to become a force of good?

Ethan kept one but ended up using it against the giant monster Jack.

I feel Resident evil should try a what if story with the mold/mutamycete story arch. While the 4 lords and Eveline aren't innocent. It still bugs me that Mia got away scott free from working with the same organization Wesker worked for. I mean it would be nice if Resident Evil had player choices like Metro. Maybe have a spare or kill choice for Eveline and the four lords. Then latter they can help you. Like AI partner or give you a weapon as a reward. 🤷
So i find it extremely sus that Ethan gets behanded by Mia, he screws over Zoe and cures Mia, Mia is re-infected saving you, Ethan kills Eveline, and Ethan says him and Mia are starting over in their marriage, the end, fade to black...they never clearly state that Mia was cured again or not.
Aside from him setting the new gold standard for simping, i find it jarring that he suddenly has a daughter with Mia and CHRIS REDFIELD goes rogue and kidnaps her...

Minor technicality, the first instance I remember of mind control (I may be wrong, though), was in RE5 with Jill being controlled by Wesker, just saying
hmm I don't think it was mind control in that instance, I think it was more of being controlled by the parasite/infection because chris was able to stop her being controlled by pulling the red "parasite" out of her chest and she was fine after that. if she was being controlled by wesker then wesker himself would had to have died to stop her being controlled id assume? @@nunyabusiness3582 agreed, it was the parasite through which Wesker controlled her, not with his mind. But it do remember the game saying Wesker controlled her mind though the device (it wasn't even called a parasite). That's why she was fully aware, but unable to resist.

Strong Will I guess. Same way Lucas and Zoe wasn’t really controlled by Eveline either. I believe it stems from a strong hatred of her, strong enough to subconsciously resist her. It’s why she’s always so obsessed with everyone “loving” her and disposes those who would “oppose” almost immediately.

I think it’s in connection to the first aid spray; the first aid spray was developed by umbrella as a product that can heal all wounds and as seen in the games it works instantly; perhaps h the first aid bottles in VII were developed by The Connections as a rival product to the first aid spray since they are a rival corporation to umbrella, and with this first aid bottle instead of just healing wounds instantly they went the extra mile and developed a stronger product that can heal more severe injuries instantly like a severed hand and leg. But that’s just speculation and my theory. As for Ethan not reacting to his hand being reattached is beyond me, maaaaaaybe he just rolled with it because it was reattached in time who knows lol, but there is also the scene where he reacted to getting his leg chopped off by Jack. Jack gave him the first aid bottle to use on his leg which instantly reattaches it to which Ethan’s reaction I believe was “What the fuck” so he does seem to kind of question how his limbs can be reattached to his body after being chopped off by simply pouring the first aid bottle on his wounds; but as I said that’s just my theory, who knows maybe it is just shitty writing lol
