Now THIS is country. There's real heart, soul, blood sweat and tears put into this, unlike the unenthusiastic dried-up cow pies that get farted out over the intercom at work. Fleisher says hi, by the way.
This song gives me a lot of Red Dead redemption 1 and 2 vibes along with the Hobbit live action feelings from it, and as I compare it to other types of country that we see today this is the kind of country that I would listen to all day it's not just a song it's a somber story that has a very very deep meaning to it.
I (Lauren) wrote the lyrics and came up with the melody one evening at my mums house. I shared a phone recording of it with Reid (my partner at the time), with the intention that he'd help me records it, I'd sing and he'd play the guitar. He shared knowledge of the song with Helen Jones/The Barn Swallows, who liked it (it was never intentionally written for the play). He ended up singing it as it would have needed to be performed live on stage for the play (I'm not a public performer), so I went to backing vocals on the recording instead. I didn't know it was going to be posted on multiple sites over the internet or for this animation. I thought it was just going to be for a local play. It doesn't seem to be credited correctly on the internet, it comes across as him being the first author/originator, which may not have been his intention, but is incorrect.
Hi Lauren! Sorry I haven't seen ypur comment (I haven't really been paying attention to this video for some time) but I would be more than happy to change the video title to include your name! Could you tell me how you would like to be correctly credited?
I really wanna modify the lyrics, so here we go; "Oh the heart the heart of a riding man... left to die of heat on the burning sand... oh the heart the heart of a riding man... scarred and cut himself from the devil he ran, ooh oh from the devil he ran."
Its written and sung for his mother's play, The Barn Swallows, and probably Sam inspired and sees the song is kind of fitting so... He used it in his animation
thank you for the lyrics, really like the song and couldn't get a grip on them !
You’re welcome! 😁

This sounds like something you'd hear as the circle of time draws to a close. Beautiful and moving.

Have you been trying to get it corrected?
