- Video of Chicago Transit Authority 1995 Flxible Metro E #6165 in service on Route 77. This bus is one of 330 originally purchased by the CTA in 1995. It is one of 305 equipped with Detroit Diesel Series 50 with ZF Transmissions. This is the last High floor series CTA operates.
A few of the 6000 Flxible Metros still exist in Chicago. CTA still usees them as work buses. The Chicago Fire Dept has taken possesion of three buses. And a non for profit organization recieved Flxible #6127 and converted it to a mobile fruit market in Chicago. If you want to see it, look up "Fresh Moves" on YT.
That is what I thought, I was like these buses do not sound like they have cummins! Thanks!
The only buses that are left are the New Flyers, Novas and Optimas
MTA Flxible Metro D #6435 has DDS50 & ZF Transmissions
We still have #6163 with the Chicago Fire Dept.
I miss the fixable metro E
