lol the Calgary Tower & palliser hotel is in there as well
The CBC News guy says that "at the time [1976] engineers probably had no idea it would become one of Toronto's biggest tourist attractions." Uh, yes they certainly did. That's why they designed it to include multiple observation decks, high-speed elevators, and a huge restaurant and nightclub.
At one time the CBC staff were intelligent people of substance, and they had awareness of things that happened before they were born. Now they're millennial airheads without a clue what went on before their oldest memories.
Be careful!!! Drake might still be up there.
lol
lol
hahahahahaha
Tatie wry
Rumour has it that he still is up there to this day.
0:45 That's Calgary Tower 😑
Happy 40th birthday, CN Tower :)

I'm SHOCKED. no derogatory snide condescendingly rude comments. is this UA-cam?
@0:45 Isn't that the tower in Calgary?
I think so but im not 100% sure
+Dafna Bagalayos yeah it is i paused @0:45
Yup
no it's not it's in Toronto the city they mentioned in the video tons of times
+KR Keith that's not a photo of the CN tower at the end, that's a photo of the C tower in Calgary. They are a bit different.
Thy had no idea that at the time what would be the tallest freestanding tower would become iconic? Uhhh at least thyere good at engineering
Lol
The host didn't know that tall buildings sway in the wind. But I bet he has solid knowledge of the video games released on various platforms since his early boyhood.
And?
4:00 The CBC anchor says "incredulous" when he means 'incredible'. (Things are incredible; skeptical or unbelieving people are incredulous.) He wants to seem smart by using what strikes him as a more elevated word, without going to the trouble of actually looking it up. He should look up the meaning of the word 'pretentious' while he's at it.
Oooooooo, You're so smart, go get a life instead of correcting people who actually went to college
good looking tower !! :-)
So is CN stand for CN railway or Canadian National , and yes, I know CN railways stands for Canada national as well, but just wondering if those two CN have any connections back in the days or just sharing same name.
Yes Canadian national railway built the cn tower to show the possibilities of canadian industry but they don't own the tower anymore. The name stayed as cn tower though because that is what everyone knows it by.
We need SuperDave!
Dar Robinson jumping off for the High Point feature film!

" 'When the story of the early architecture of Toronto is told, the CN Tower will be a significant chapter,' says structural engineer Patrick Quinn."
Early architecture? Toronto has numerous prominent buildings more than a century older than the CN Tower. It is simply far too young to qualify as belonging to the early period. Eight years after its completion Toronto celebrated the 150th anniversary of its incorporation as a city in 1834.
The CBC drips dumbness, even in its choice of interview guests and which of their quotes to highlight.
Haha great
