Thank you for this video. As a Jamaican I was very interested to hear the history. I heard so much about Mr . Hamilton as an orchid icon but did not know much about how he got into the business. I love the inclusivity of your channel.
We are very happy we finally got to sit down with Mr. Hamilton and to share his story with the world is invaluable. We are very thankful for him and his family. We thank you for watching and your beautiful comments. ONE LOVE ❤️
My cousin Claude is doing what he does best, as usual. 🎉 Enjoyed hearing about how it all began in our ancestral country and continues to this day in the wonderful USA, specifically Florida. 🎉😊 Nice interview VL🎉
We thank you for watching and for your beautiful comment. It's an honor to have interviewed Mr. Hamilton, and it's also an honor to have his family members, friends, fellow countrymen, and women, watching this video in our channel. Hi, David. We think you are the one in the story he told us after this interview. We are very happy you are watching from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 😀. Thanks so much for your comment also.
Wonderful video ! Thank you very much to the legend in Orchids world, beautiful to know how did he love orchids from his early age . Price less video Vicky and Sergio ❤
Indeed, and one of our goals in this channel to have all of those names, big and small, to share their story and accomplishments in this beautiful world of ORCHIDS. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Very interesting. I had orchids that I bought from Reuben Saucedo but I lost them in a freeze except for Wilmotteara Edward Seaga. It’s such a prolific bloomer. Congratulations on hitting the 2K mark. That’s awesome and so well deserved.
We are glad you liked it. We knew you would like many other serious orquidists. Thank you for being one that made us reach this number and be one of our most loyal viewers. 🤗💓💓
Great seeing and hearing Claude Hamilton, a person who had taught me much about orchids. Thanks to him, I gained much experience and a wealth of knowledge. Respect, Sir Hamilton.
@richardgrant8527 hi, Richard. We are happy to have many people like yourself comment on great things and be proud of Mr. Claude Hamilton. We appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
Hi, Juli. 😂😂😂😂 yes. Mr. Hamilton is a superb guy. Fun, full of knowledge, and proud of what he has accomplished in his life. And very proud of his family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for watching and taking the time to comment 🤗💓
We are happy to know we made your commute a little better. We are always thankful for all our viewers, and thank you for taking the time to comment. May your day be another day in paradise.
Thanks for Interviewing Mr. Claude and telling us about how his sons and his orchid business came to be! He definitely has some humor, and he sounds like an amazing person to be friends with. It’s funny to me that he has so much of the same african violets and he sprayed kerosene on them😂😂. I think it’s also astonishing that his son, Philips became an AOS judge at such young age! Thanks for sharing again, and I hope to see you next time! I’ve been anticipating for this video❤❤😊😊❤!
We were eager to do this interview. Mr. Hamilton is indeed a legend but also a very humble, down to earth, funny, just all around a great person. After the video, we stayed talking to him for a long time. Very nice experience, and one of our goals in this channel is to have as many of these individuals big or small that have made their mark in this wonderful world of ORCHIDS. Thank you so much, like always, for your continuous support and comments ❤️
My first orchid was a phalanopsis which I had bought from Mr. Hamilton and it was white with a delicate pink. I still have a peach cattleya which I had bought from him some years ago. That orchid is over twenty years old. I have so many other orchid varieties which I have from Hamlyns orchids. I was so disappointed when I found out that he was closing down his business, that I immediately went and bought quite an amount of orchid, because his orchids are more viable and are more healthy than other growers. You are surely going to be missed Mr. Hamilton . Wishing you all the best on your new adventure.
@soniajohnson543 Oh, wow, Sonia, nice to know that. We'll sure pass it along to Mr. Hamilton. Thanks for watching and making a comment, we really appreciate you 🤗 💓
@soniajohnson543 this iis so true. Intriguingly my very first orchid was bought from Claude more than 36 years ago. It was a HUGE white Phalaenopsis with a yellow lip. Claude has a GINORMOUS HEART for Orchids and People and is ALWAYS sharing. It brought tears to my eyes on a visit with him, when really sank home that he was leaving. I am truly grateful that I am still able to learn from him
I loved learning about Mr. Hamilton being a dog breeder. What specific breed did he show? As mentioned Mr. Hamilton commented in this interview that in order to attract younger people to the fascination of the orchid hobby he felt that "We have to make it interesting for people." He went on to say that [ orchids] are expensive for young people. I have to disagree. During Covid people stayed shuttered in doors and the prices of Hoyas and some commonly grown houseplants saw prices spike. They 'younger people' drove up the prices. Both Vicky and Mr. Hamilton agreed that people don't want to read about care of their orchids. They want instant information from the internet and some vendors.
Hi, Debb. We enjoyed making this video so much. It was so much fun and interesting to hear a story from a legend in the orchid world. We hope that with our videos, we are making it interesting for younger future orchid hobbyists. Thanks so much for your input.
