I am maybe just suffering of nostalgia, but Joni Mitchell belongs to a generation of profound music creativity in every aspect.
Not nostalgia. Truth.
@@ariennelandry9207 Nostalgia of the truth then
There is high quality music being made these days as well. It's just a matter of looking
You are correct.
Love You Joan
"....dreams Amelia, dreams and false alarms". If you ever understand this lyric, you will understand women.
Give a listen to Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire. She wrote it to explain the ending of her relationship with James Taylor because of his heroin addiction. And yet it still parralles the need for love to the need for heroin. Just stunning.
that is one of her best and underappreciated. The live version is even more intense.
I was 14 when I heard “Circle Game” and that was all I needed to hear.
That was in 1973 & now I am 63 & anything that Joni puts out gives me chills!! STILL!!!
What else can you say, it’s JONI. ❤️❤️
Hejira is one of the most perfect albums by any artist ever.
She still gives me chills, after almost 50 years. And how great is the talent around her? Magic!!!
This is twice a Joni song on this channel has moved me to tears. Her longing for more knowledge on what her life is for is disarming. Sometimes we have what we need all along and sometimes not. Like a molting cicada or moth, keep what matters adding to it and sloffing off what is no longer working. Had to stop the song a few times to give it my full attention... making coffee. I try to write songs but haven’t really got ready to record any. Just loose melodies and lyrics written in handy sheets of paper. I jotted down some in between watching and coffee making... she inspired me naturally.
Love her for that. People that inspire are so precious to the world and we’re losing a lot of them right now. Bless them.
Take care everyone, thank you Justin

No, not a writer, mainly an artist and I am humbled that you would add my words to your journal, thank you. You made my day.
this had such a huge effect on me when i first heard it .this and song for sharron ,named my daughter Emilia 15 years years later
You really must listen to Song for Sharon also from Hejira. Have a look at her live 1983 version on YT, it rocks.
Wow. Never heard this. I only know her 'hits'. Almost shed a year. The lyrics were like sitting down with a good book and not wanting it to end.
If you have only heard the hits you have missed some of her most astounding masterpieces. I recommend Let the Wind Carry Me
Blue, The Magdalene Laundries
Song for Sharon
Hissing of Summer lawns
Court and Spark
There are illustrated versions of two songs on this album here on you tube. Song for Sharon, and Amelia, both illustrated by Joni Mitchell. Talk about mesmerizing.
Think of Genesis and "Follow You, Follow Me". The treasures from Joni's album catalog are where the real magic can be found. Her radio hits were nicer that FYFM, but they fall way short of what she placed on her albums, especially the songs on Hejira and The Hissing of Summer Lawns, none of which ever were offered up as radio singles, to the eternal tragic loss of most of mankind. I don't even recall those songs getting much airplay on FM stations that touted themselves as playing deep cuts from many rock artists of that era. The sound was not rock, not folk, not jazz, but something indescribable, and with the impossibility of cubby-holing it, most stations ignored it. Looking at comment sections to reactors listening to Joni, most of the comments ask for songs from Court and Spark or earlier times in Joni's career, so even a big chunk of Joni's devout fans don't recognize the excellence of these to albums as being the peak of Joni's output. I think that's due to Joni having built her fanbase doing straight folk music, and those fans were not all happy about the new, electrified Joni and her surrounding cast of world-class jazz musicians.
One beautifully crafted song by the best singer/songwriter of our generation. Nobody even comes close. Then, mix in Larry Carlton's atmospheric guitar...heavenly.
Speechless. Yup, that describes it.
I’ve been enamored with this song for 35 years now, since first hearing it on Shadows And Light. The level of depth and beauty in this song is boundless. Yeah it’s perfect, and it’s gotta be in my top 10 of all time. If I ever became a musician and released a live album, I would title it “Cursed and Charmed.”
Rick Beato recently did a video on this in his What Makes This Song Great series. Well worth checking out.
Agreed! The Shadows and Light version is definitely my preference and a desert island too 10.
Not only is it an exquisite performance of Amelia, but it segues into that breathtaking Pat Metheny solo, which then segues into Hejira, which is IMO the greatest song from the greatest album ever made.
definitely watch that Beato eoisode. His analysis helps you appreciate it even more. He goes into the chord changes which are very subtle.
This is a desert island album for me. My favorite Joni song is "Edith and The Kingpin" from my second favorite album "Hissing Of Summer Lawns". You might give it a shot.
itchyvinyl I agree! I love Hissing of summer lawns and Hejira equally, they are like yen and yang...
itchyvinyl Edith is a fantastic song. Fantastic. I really hope JP reacts to it.
As I read this, I wondered if I wrote it. 👌🏼 Summer Lawns is soooo slept on
George Michael sings a version of "Edith and the Kingpin" and it is beautiful. I think Tina Turner sings it too on Herbie Hancock's tribute album to Joni called 'River: The Joni Letters.' Joni's version, however, is the best!
@@00TheRealTC Agreed. It is just perfect.
Thank you for such a great reaction! As I get older, having listened to this song and album now and then over the last 44 years, I find that Amelia remains just about my favorite song of all time, from anyone.
Ty Glen!
Hard cry at this one. Every time.
Yep.
When music got us out us out of our comfort zones, yet got us to, well, feel.
In my day...Joni was commonly called “Lady Blue”....says it all. Great synopsis. Joni stabs your heart and you’re grateful for every drop of blood you exude.
"The instrumentation is not dense, but it is lush.." You nailed it.
For literally decades now I've thought of the albums Hejira, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter, and Mingus as a trilogy of sorts, each having this similarity of sound that is so distinctive to Joni Mitchell. It could reasonably be argued this period was her artistic peak (when was Ms. Mitchell not at her peak?). My personal desert island Joni Mitchell album is "Don Juan's...", which puts me in perhaps a minority of one (understandably). But gosh, what an amazing artistic legacy to have created! Thank you for the reaction, and the insightful reflection.
Hissing of Summer Lawns?
@@louisbjr51 "Hissing..." has always been an underrated album, with some real gems on it. I see it as the bridge from "Court and Spark" that leads up to "Hejira", and is therefore important in understanding Joni Mitchell's musical development. Having said that, I think it it safe to say that Joni Mitchell has never done a bad album (which is in itself quite an achievement !).
Don Juan's R D is a wonderful album. She called it 'spotty' (in the 80s), being far too insecure about her own work. Once you're in the right zone, this album is mesmerising, a masterpiece with so much in it to unpack. I'm with you (and Bjork) on this one.
@@charliebu If you and Bjork love it, then I am in good company indeed! :-)
@@br.martindallyosb1147 :) Bjork refers to DJRD pretty much the way Prince spoke of Hissing - as the one album (by any artist) that captivated them from start to finish. I think Paprika Plains and DJRD (the song) alone put it in a class of its own. You should look out for the monthly Phonogenics series (on UA-cam) discussing each JM album in turn (and in depth!). Last week was Hissing, so Don Juan should be in two months time.
"Help Me" off of "Court and Spark" is a wonderful song. Check it out, perhaps.
“I pulled into the cactus tree motel
To shower off the dust
I slept on strange pillows
Of my wanderlust.”
I rode my bicycle across India
This brings back such memories
I was always attracted to Joni's song ' BLUE ' ...
This song is a favorite. Joni's best era for me. The lyrics still give me those chills after 25+ years of listening.
The whole album is just fantastic! Justin, you're so lucky! You still have so many gems to discover from Joni's career! Enjoy!
How many of us have road tripped with this record on repeat ✋🏼
Always.
Very picturesque landscape that Joni paints about a road trip - I can actually feel being on the road, totally lost.
Songs on this album were written on a road trip that Joni made across America. Travel is a theme and the songs contain references to different parts of the country where she passed.
great job and quick insights
Strings of my guitars....six vapor trails above the sweet terrain. Military Planes in formation - image of a fretboard
(Think 29 palms air base and Joshua Tree)
Joni travelled solo across country by car - lots of melancholy, longing
Amelia mysteriously lost. - Joni lost in her thoughts
Like Icarus ascending on beautiful foolish arms
Flying too close to the sun
Her vulnerability
A relationship
Tied to Amelia pushing the boundaries
You youngsters are so lucky for the Internet. To be able to enjoy/ appreciate this.
I'm very appreciative of it, im so happy to be able to listen to this!😃
Song for Sharon and a strange boy are my favourite tracks of all time.
My fave Joni album.
Saw her in Seattle '78,.... shook her hand... Joni Mitchell ! ;-)
She is 77 and is in poor health!
Beautifully articulated. Joni said that her songs, both lyrically and musically, are enquiries.
I've been in love with Joni and her music for over 50 years!
Just go straight to the live version of...In France They Kiss on Main Street from Shadows and Light. Hurry!
Yup! The live version with Pat and Jaco kills it.
Exactly! The live album is brilliantly done. With great musicians like Pat Metheny , and the late great musicians Lyle Mays, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker and Don Alias.
Larry Carlton is very tasteful on this, but though he played on 4 Steely Dan albums, was not a member, but a hired session musician. He was one of the top L.A. session guitarists, and has appeared on many albums. He also did the theme song for the TV show Hill Street Blues. I saw him in 1976 when he had long hair and was the only white member of Joe Sample's Jazz Crusaders.
Victor Feldman one of those musicians that everyone has heard but don’t know him! An extensive discography of incredible depth and range !
What a wonderfully appropriate set of statements for a wonderful artist and song. Thanks for this Justin.
Joni is in my Top 5 female artists and Hejira is one of my 2 favorites from her.
I loved when she started with a jazzier groove, which is why I could listen to Amelia & Coyote on repeat & be blissful.
The album Don Juan's Reckless Daughter by Joni Michell features Joco Pastorius (bass) on Overture/Cotton Avenue and is a brilliant jazz fussion song. Joco was one of the greatest bass players of all time. I've listened to Joni for more than 50 years and am still amazed by her incredable talent.
That's my girl! ✌ ❤ 🎶 🌎 👏
One of the all-time best singer/songwriters.
Great storyteller. Great artist. Probably in my Top 5 songwriters of America.
Have you ever heard a Joni Mitchell song that didn't make your day better? I haven't. One of my favourites is 'the title track from 'For The Roses' the first time that I heard the word arbutus in a song. Good reaction btw!
You should see the "What Makes This Song Great" video. It's from a musician's perspective, but you really don't need to be a musician to appreciate Joni's brilliance as a songwriter: ua-cam.com/video/r45L38Eyhpw/v-deo.html
What a breathtaking song!! I fell in love with this whole album, lyrically every piece is astounding, she often wrote each verse as a minerature story within the greater message of the song. Many of the tracks on Hejiera are written like this... for anyone who is an aspiring lyricist, this is a master.
The very BEST recording of this song is LIVE from 1979 (not the 1983) (She's wearing green pants and a purple top for reference..) Her guitar playing, seeing her facial expressions and enunciations of each word and the visuals of Amelia Earhart as well make this recording the masterpiece of this song. Oh, and a bonus of an incredible guitar solo by Pat Metheny.
It is just magical how Joni weaves her lyrics and melodies around the metaphors. Using Amelia to represent Joni and her life with all its 'false alarms' and crashes, adventure with an unsure end is brilliant. She shares Amelia's desires for wanderlust, both souls lost with bittersweet sadness. Perhaps Amelia's false alarms led to her crash and also Joni's. Both lost, not found?
One of the best studio albums ever recorded.
KINDA FUNNY WHEN YOU SAY CLOUDS! :) 1 OF HER EARLY ALBUMS AND A BEAUTIFULLLL BIGGG HIT: I'VE LOOKED AT CLOUDS FROM ( BOTH SIDES NOW) I LOVE IT JUSTIN, GR888 WORK!
some of Joni's works take me back to a time of many traveler's from the streets & parks of San Francisco to the 'Garden' on a farm in NY . met many good souls along the way. She performed this song with greats Pat Metheny & Jaco Pastorius.
Those sound like wonderful memories Don :)
Flawless..
Beautiful! The entire album has a unique mood to it, as you described: lush, deep, mesmerizing.... JM mentions the Cactus Tree Hotel, a reference to "Cactus Tree" from her first album 'Songs to a Seagull (1967),' To understand the emotional journey and complexity of "Amelia" fully then you may want to listen to "Cactus Tree." BTW, that first album is AMAZING!!! (There's also a live version of "Cactus Tree" performed in her 'Miles of Aisles' concert from [1976]). The song "Hejira" is my favorite from the album of the same name, a song that if heard often enough taps into a well of emotion that will bring tears to your eyes. Great reaction. Thank U!
Loneliness, isolation, the refuge of the road. The way the guitar, double tracked, left and right weaves the melody back and forth. Well done JP
Larry Carlton on guitar here 👍Joni Mitchell one of my all time favourites !
Joni is a particular favourite, and I'd rate Hejira as one of my top 20 albums of all time by any artist in any "genre". This song is just perfect. Beyond sublime!
I bought this album when I was 17 and wore it out. It grew me up fast.
First listen, you could listen to it hundreds of times and never get tired. I promise.
She's simply wonderful. I never tire of her songs/poetry/singing/musicianship/art.
Thanks for your appreciation of her.
She's easy to appreciate 😄
I have new respect for your channel. I haven't seen any reaction channel that has reacted to anything from this masterpiece of an album! Not to mention your other reactions - Yes, etc. By the way, every song on the album, Hejira, is about travel and transition of some kind. Pure genius.
Ty so much Glass!😄
Hejira is a Joni’s Masterpiece 🕊
Very pretty peaceful song joni mitchel
Joni is so great and she has some heavy hitter musicians on this entire album. She's amazing.
I love this song and the entire album. It's a mature work by a master artist. The lyrics are amazing, who uses vocabulary like that, who paints images using poetry the way she did? It brought tears to my eyes just now. This album and "For the Roses" are my favorites of hers, so much soul baring.
In 2017 Joni's long-time friend (and producer of her 1st album) David Crosby covered this song on his "Sky Trails" album, not because he thought he could do it better but just because he loves it so much.
I agree, she had a really good way with words. I mean has. Let's not call it a day for her just yet.
Yog-Sothoth
You not the only one. Tears.
I know I'm coming in late, but there's a clue in the name of the motel: The Cactus Tree.
One of Joni's earlier songs is called "Cactus Tree", written in 1967. If you read the lyrics, I think you'll find context to more deeply appreciate "Amelia".
"Cactus Tree" lays out serial romantic interludes she's had, the dissimilarity among them, and the expectation she will have many others. But it's the same tension that shows up in a number of her songs: the attraction to love vs the desire for personal freedom. Freedom seems as necessary as air for her, yet the cost of leaving love can also take the air out of her.
"Cactus Tree" ends with the following words:
They will lose her if they follow
And she only means to please them
And her heart is full and hollow
Like a cactus tree
While she's so busy being free
This song, specifically, made me fall in love with Joni’s music. I heard it over 20 years ago watching some intimate Joni performance on TV, and I was thoroughly enchanted. Went out and borrowed “Hejira” from the library. I soon bought the album because the whole album is a treasure.
Hejira is Joni's best album, and Amelia is its outstanding song. The "hexagram of the heavens / strings of my guitar" line stays with me. Thank you for an intelligent discussion of it. The theme of flight and escape ("Hejira") and the cover art bring her older song River to mind.
Favorite Joni album.
Justin my man!! As soon as I clicked you on today it brought a big smile to my face!! Bare with me for a minute because I'm Not Speechless!! Lol. How irnic that I just watched joni live in Santa Barbara cal. 1979 last weekend!! She sang this song with a short video of Amelia playing in the background!! Just beautiful!! Goosebumps for sure!! Then I watched an interview of her not too long ago where I believe she's around 70yrs old!! Yes she is still straight- forward and honest!! She's never changed her ways for anyone!! So given all that there's not a single word I would add to your reaction!! So spot on as always and I'm so glad you love joni too like so many of your viewers!! I believe we all have good taste!!! I also agree with of few other comments that my favorite Joni album is" Hissing of summer Lawns!! Packed full of great beautiful Joni Songs!! Must do that one next!! I just love and appreciate musical diversity in people! My son's favorite band used to be NIN but one of his favorite songs of my cataloge is 10,000 miles by Mary Chapin Carpenter!! He's so much like me!! I love that!! Thank you so much for what you do!! Your my musical lifeline to the world during these trying times!!I also love when you just look right into the camera and give that awesome JP smile of approval!! So before I go I give you permission and the rest of your viewers to watch my nephews live performance of a B.B.KING song: 3 OCLOCK BLUES by The Nick Moss Band- My nephew was Mike Ledbetter the lead singer!! If there are any blues fans among us your in for a real treat!!! Please enjoy at your leisure!! Then please do a reaction to his song: Down Home Girl!! Don't forget my other requests please: The Strawbs Hero and Heroine album and PFM Photo of Ghosts and PFM Cook!! To end this short story;!! I want to thank you for responding to me!! It makes my day always!!! Ttyl your #1 AZ FAN!! Michael😊😊😊
Ty as always Michael!😄 I havent forgotten Strawbs or PFM yet!
One of my favorite songs of all time. Have you heard 'My Secret Place' from Chalk Mark in a Rain Storm?
My favorite song of hers!! So good and the first time I've seen anyone react to this song!! So thank you!!😊
Thank YOU for watching Thomas!
I will not give up...! Friendly reminder to kindly react to your next Sinead song: Troy, original audio version from her debut album. When you reacted to Just Like U Said It Would B (which you really liked) you had a lot of viewers recommend this one as well. It’s an epic, iconic song. I’m aware there were other recommendations of her songs but I really prefer you listen in chronological order of her albums. The Sinead journey is an important one due to her being so versatile. Thanks again for everything. :)
JP, Rick Beato recently did a great breakdown of "Amelia" on his channel:
ua-cam.com/video/r45L38Eyhpw/v-deo.html
Yeah. Watched that too. Rick could hardly contain his enthusiasm for all that makes it special . . .
Melancholic, atmospheric, haunting, poetic, heartfelt, and maybe a hundred other things....I'm never sure (as she's written so many astounding songs), but I sometimes think this could be Joni at her shimmering, spellbinding best.
Great reaction, glad you liked it, especially the weightless feel to it. It just defies quantization. "Amelia" just caught my attention again recently by stumbling upon Rick Beato's "What makes this song great?" video the other day and I got into a heavy Joni phase again these days. I decided to catch up on her entire discography, not just her classic 70's stuff which I'd been familiar with, but also her later work after watching the documentary "Woman of Heart and Mind" here on UA-cam (I recommend checking it out before it's being taken down).
BTW, her name is pronounced "Joanie" (her first name is Joan), not "Johnny". Oh, and Larry Carlton was not an actual member of Steely Dan, just a session player.
Mondegreen Actually, her first name is ‘Roberta’. Joan is her middle name. (Christopher Cross wrote his “Roberta” song as a tribute to Joni, and a nod to her first name.)
Couldn't have said it any better. PLEASE WATCH Joni's live performance of this from her 1979 live film SHADOWS AND LIGHT including Pat Metheny's epilogue. You can see in that video her honest feelings as she sings and plays. It'll knock you out. (I've got a lump in my throat hearing this again. It was good to listen to it with you.)
The brilliance of Joni, nothing else needs to be said! I’ve had a 50 year love affair with her, that continues!
I found this on songfacts.com: "Mitchell (from a 1996 interview with the Los Angeles Times): 'I wrote the album while traveling cross-country by myself and there is this restless feeling throughout it... the sweet loneliness of solitary travel. In this song, I was thinking of Amelia Earhart and addressing it from one solo pilot to another, sort of reflecting on the cost of being a woman and having something you must do.'
Perfect; thank you for that Johm
The song "Cactus Tree" was the first (or one of the first) to meditate on this theme.
@@moonstone1159 she was busy being free
This song is so lovely. Brilliantly done on her live “Shadows and Light” Album. I recommend listening to it. Pat Metheny performs a lovely guitar solo in the end leading to “Hejira.” The song “Hejira” is also brilliantly done on the live album as well.
The musicianship and lyrical genius are about as good as it gets on this album. My personal favorites are Black Crow and the title track, but every song on this is wonderful.
Good choices!
The symbol in the I Ching, for Heaven (in hexagrams: like 4 on the Korean Flag) is 6 unbroken lines as compared to Earth, which is 6 broken lines.....
Fantastic reaction! Love how knowledgeable you are, and how deep you go into understanding the lyrics. Hejira is one of my favorite albums! Every song is a gem. Makes me want to drive all night down country roads!
Ty ghost!
Great to see you do the one and only Joni, thanks!
The great thing about Amelia is, how melodic it is and manages to keep the jazzyness of the album. It just flowes so great und the singing... Thats why I love this Album. Some of her singing can be a little extrem - specialy on the early recods, but on this Album, it´s just so fitting. There is another song about Amelia, by Heather Nova, - I miss my sky (Amelia Erhards last words) which I realy like too... Even if it´s form one of her weaker records...
The live version from the Shadows And Light tour segues into one of my favorite Pat Metheny solos. :
ua-cam.com/video/iixd7iflHhY/v-deo.html
Me too R Gray. Big big Pat Metheny fan here. That entire concert with Pat, Lyle Mays, Jaco and Michael Brecker backing up Lady Blue is one of the finest things I’ve ever seen.
@@donaldbass6737 I actually got to see her in Oklahoma city on that tour! It was amazing. Sadly, the CD release of that tour left off the definitive performance of "Free Man in Paris", which I could never understand why. Her doing 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love" with the Persuasions was brilliant. Memories...
Br. Martin Dally, OSB Every Joni fan needs to watch that...and by the way...RIP Lyle Mays...I owe you many many hours of joy. And RIP Jaco.
I would say listen to her performance of this tune from Wembley 1983. Equally as good.
Love Joni and I hope you continue to source her work. Would also suggest Rickie Lee Jones.
So glad that you gave this song a listen. This is next-level songwriting. The lyrics are pure poetry, and the music fits the mood perfectly. I'm glad you commented on Joni's honesty as a writer. She is telling us exactly what she's thinking and feeling on her cross-country road trip (in the desert at this point, and the song sounds like a lonely desert evening). In particular, she's pondering her lofty artistic goals (analogous to Amelia's flying). She's thinking about yet another doomed love affair. She's wondering whether it's possible to be a major artistic talent with a thriving career--especially a female artist in 1976--and also maintain any kind of stable, loving relationship. She's worried she will simply vanish like Amelia. I think Joni is one of only a handful of modern singer-songwriters capable of using lyrics and music together for such intense self-expression. Dylan, Van Morrison, Fiona Apple also come to mind.
Wonderful thoughts Brian, ty for that
She refers to "Cactus Tree" (from her Songs to a Seagull album) for a reason, given your comments.
Great reaction from you! You mentioned Coyote, another one of my favorite songs from Joni.
BTW, Joni’s 75th birthday celebration has various artists performing on it. I never thought anyone could perform “Coyote “, but Glen Hansard does a brilliant cover, worth watching on the DVD.
Ty Julia!
Notice that lowest note she goes to on the last syllable of "amelia." she's using a lot of her range. I've heard several other women sing it, and they don't attempt that note, they keep it the same pitch as the previous syllable. That note makes the song larger and more intricate and more specific. She does that a lot - most singers miss it.
My favorite Joni song. Listened to her since the 70's. I think she is on par or above Dylan but sexism in the industry and culture kept her status lower. Enjoy your vids! Listen to her 'Don Juan's Reckless Daughter' for her lyrical genius!
Absolutely, but time will/is telling.
Sex Kills (The Tonight Show with Jay Leno), and Night Ride Home & Number One (The Radio with Pictures Show with Dick Driver). Both are live performances and are hypnotic jewels. I can't wait until you experience them!
Thank you! Thank you. On your own you should check the live version with Jaco (the bassist whose last name escapes me but your know) Pat Metheney also joins in. She is special my friend.
I don't quite know what it is about Joni. I guess it's just that she's a true artist. A rare gem.
Terrific reaction to a musical masterpiece. You hit all the high points: Joni's poetic, layered, vulnerable lyrics. Her guitar. Larry Carlton's guitar accents. The atmospheric feel of the entire performance.
Second others' recommendation of this song and others on Joni's live set "Shadows and Light" with Pat Matheny, Lyle Mays, Jaco Pastorius and Michael Brecker. Magical.
Okay Justin, I just subscribed. Love your channel, the diversity of song choices, and the fact that you don't just come across as a fanboy. If you like the song, you explain why. If there are parts you don't like, you explain why. I love that. Thank you. If I could make a request, it would be the album In a Glass House by Gentle Giant, or specifically the song Experience from this album. The first time I heard it I was a young impressionable bass player and this song opened up a whole new way of looking at how the bass can be played. Thanks again, keep up the great reactions.
Carlton on top of his game as usual ! 132 comments kudos !
Love Joni Mitchell she’s awesome so easy to listen to like her lyrics
You gotta catch the live version from her Shadows and Light concert special with Pat Metheny on guitar.
When music was experimental and wonderful.
It's strange that I was never really a Joni Mitchell fan, yet "Help Me" is one of my all time favorite tunes. She's like a thing and you only have space for so many things. Do you put her in the box that can only hold 10 things? No. Do you throw her away? Uh, no. What then? You hide her behind the box of 10 things.
So glad you were so into Joni I’ve got goosebumps to love you
Stunning track, took me right back to my teens. The lyrics so meaningful. Must look up some Joni 😀💞
HEYYYYYY! :) LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE ENJOYINGGG YOUR JONI JOURNEY JUSTIN!!! WOWWWWW, SAY THAT 3 TIMES FAST, SHE HAS SO MUCHHHH AWESOME MUSIC TO LISTEN TO MY FRIEND, TAKE CARE :)
Awesome song
