That was my first Botcon and I remember us mutually agreeing that the traffic was nice that day. David Kaye really is just one of the coolest people to meet in person.
David Kaye used a similar voice but a different tone that made him sound very different from his performance in Beast Wars. Also this version nicely displays some depth rather than just being a one note villain. I wish we could see more depictions do that.

He talks about how the Predacons are the rightful rulers of Cybertron and the universe but he makes it clear he is foremost out for Predacon domination if he's the one in charge. When Megatron breaks into the Ark he admits he was unwillingly to follow the plan in the Golden Disk to kill Optimus Prime, admitting it was dangerous to attempt to alter history in such a way. But with no options left he goes ahead with the plan anyways, he was willing to risk the existence of all Cybertronians just to ensure he would be their leader.

Even if you imagine him without the voice filter, Mr. Kaye's performance for Armada Megatron still can be heard as it's own thing. It's amazing!!
Both have the same voice, but Beast Wars Megatron sounds more like a Mafia/Gang boss, while Unicron Trilogy Megatron sounds more like a military leader. UT Megatron sounds more serious, while BW Megatron sounds like he's constantly mocking you. That's the best way I can personally describe the two voices.
I really did wish the Decepticons in more Transformers media had the character interactions like they did in Armada, watching Transformers Prime now, and the Decepticon interactions are a lot more dull.
As a 90s kid, David Kaye was for all intents and purposes my Megatron and I’m glad that his portrayal of the character in both Beast Wars and the Unicron Trilogy holds up so well. I know he also took a shot at Optimus in TFA which was okay but I’d still love to see him return to play Megatron someday since he fits the character so much, yeessss (sorry I couldn’t resist)
Mine too. My teenage life was in the 00's so I grew up with Transformers from 2007 by accident when I heard him in Transformers Animated and went back to watch the original G1 and Armada.
Honestly, this is my favourite Megatron. In both his voice and design. I wish we got a proper update of this design, instead of the Combiner Wars thing.

This. This was my first impression of the transformers franchise as a whole. When I was small we didn't have cable but I'd go to school and all the kids would have the McDonald's toys with them. They looked so cool to me and I especially like Megatron (I didn't even know he was a bad guy at the time. I just thought his metal bunny ears were funny) but my parents go out and buy me a vhs of the transformers...however it was for the original animated movie. Although there were no metal bunny ears I still watched it repeatedly. I wish I was familiar with the characters then because Optimus death would have affected me more. So years latter parents buy some lunch ables for me and my brother and we see characters for the 2007 movie. I immediately thought it would be based on armada but I buy a Scrapbook at a book fair that had pics of all the characters from the movie next to their g1 version. I got into the lore from there. On my birthday that year I saw it in theatres with my little brother and we were on the edge of our seats. It is still my favorite movie of all time (even after seeing endgame and infinity war) because of the memories it holds for me. And it all started with metal bunny ears.
This and animated megatron are the only megatron I like when it comes to voice acting and accents. Both of them are soft spoken and gentle yet cruel and evil at the same time

Then re-watched Beast Wars/Machines (originally watched them in my native country's dub) with these guys voicing them originally, which really made me wish they are casted for the live action movies. If they do some sort of multiverse thing like in MCU right now, then it would be the perfect time to bring these guys into voicing Optimus and Megatron/Galvatron.

Actually, in the Japanese version, Megatron/Galvatrons names changed with his body design. Armada Megatron/Galvatron is only called Megatron, and Energon Megatron/Galvatron is called Galvatron, and later Galvatron General.

Well the thing about a lot of other Megatrons is that they send a minion to carry out their orders while Armada/Energon Megatron almost always does it himself.
You know I think Hasbro should have gotten this guy to voice beast Megatron in season 3 of Siege, he would have come way closer to Beast Wars Megs than the simp-voiced beast Megatron we actually got in that show. (Yes this is a joke I'm well aware its the same VA as Beast Wars)
