And the thing is neither of them needed to die. It wouldn’t kill for EastEnders to be a bit more respectful of its long-standing cast (like Corrie) instead of killing off several characters a year. It’s so bad with EE that at times they even bring back certain characters pretty much specifically to die again (Mad May, Charlie, etc.). It only worked with Dirty Den and Ethel and they were very much anomalies.

I was 11 when this came out and don't watch EastEnders that much but for some reason I remember this so clearly.
