Hey hi , I am going for my Masters in mathematics program in University of Regensburg this upcoming winter semester 2022/23 , thank you so much for this beautiful video! Such a beautiful city... 😍 I hope I will have a wonderful time there... !
Never made it inside the City ...almost.....back in the 1980s 3 times a year we would Parachute Jump into Hohenfels and run maneuvers all around to the North and to the East of Regensbug...through all the real nice small Towns and deep in the cold forest ...even in the summer at night the Forests outside Regensburg were cold and damp but the air was super clean....Thank You for the Video
American or German military? Never been to the American bases, but had a buddy bring me a prized America football from there! The Blackhawks very regularly fly over our house here either on maneuvers or bringing in injured. I've debated running out into the field and waving the Stars and Stripes. I'd bet they'd come in lower if I know my countrymen well. :) Thanks for commenting and watching!
@@truenorth9031 American Military and we had a lot of freedom of maneuver back then and could ride right up to the City limits of Regensburg ....Yes wave the Flag and they should see you depending on there approach
I am german and I am surprised to see a rectangular shape of an old town. Never seen that on any other german city. Medival towns always had circular city walls, and it is fascinating to see that they kept the structure of the old roman fort through the centuries.
This video looks like a lot of work has been spent into it! But really worth it...great to watch and enjoy! Thank You for producing and uploading! Cheers JB
I have more fun making videos than anything and it's fun when you can try to make it better quality. That's my goal anyway. Thank you for the kind words!
Hm, I think you got the Wursthaus wrong. It looks medival, and the homepage states that it has been the construction office during the building of the stone bridge. So that should be then about the 11th century. Since afterwards it was a restaurant.
Yup! Been there numerous times and that's on the list to film as well. Thanks for the reminder though and thanks for watching. Its cool to know locals see stuff like this now and then too. :)
Another most enjoyable video, thx ! "Neue Rechtschreibung" has apparently not quite reached Regensburg yet. Schifffahrt is nowadays spelled with three f.
In the pre-Covid days, we used to have the spring meeting of the German Physical Society at Regensburg every third year. The bizarre thing was that maybe a quarter of the 3000-something participants of the conference arrived on the same train on Sunday evening. So, a sudden flood of several hundred similarly dressed people (mostly wearing an outdoor jacket a over checkered shirt, cargo trousers and sneakers, plus a little trolley bag, a backpack and a poster roll over one shoulder) poured into a mostly empty city centre to their various hotels. It looked like some sort of poorly planned alien invasion in which the aliens had just done the bare minimum research on what an inconspicuous human would look like.
You can usually pick out an American tour group from 2km away too, lol...they all fit the part and look perfectly. I steer clear of these :) Thanks for commenting and watching!
Love your videos!❤️ greets from Schleswig-Holstein😊.
Thank you very much! Grüße aus Regensburg!

My hometown

I'm not from Regensburg but have visited often. Love your video about its history!
Thank you very much!

I'm from Regensburg, rather from Donaustauf, downstream where the Walhalla is. The castle ruin is gorgeous, if you haven't seen yet.

Aaahhh!!!! I was there!!! So cool to see such a great video of it. Great job and what a beautiful place!!
It has a lot more meaning when you were there yourself, that's true! Thanks for watching and commenting, Beaver!
Hi… have you been to Wernigerode and Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt? Really beautiful cities in east Germany.😊
I've been around Saxon. The name sounds familiar but it can be that I was there but just forgot the name. I don't know for sure. :)
Regentour in Regensburg. 😂 Danke für die Geschichtsstunde. Schöne Überblendungen von Google Erde zu deinem Filmmaterial. 👍🏾😎 Buckle up!

I didn't see that. Good eyes. Thanks, I appreciate it!
Nice vlog
Thanks for watching!
I think Regensburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Actually the most beautiful 😍
Oh its definitely up there!
