What's one thing you guys struggle with when bidding that you'd like help or a tip on? What was your favorite piece of advice or tip? Finally, did anyone find out what Jake says after finding his wallet? XD
Worked for a prime contractor contracting out for TC energy 2014. sub contracted, Billed them hourly (rate sheet) and they done the same to TC energy with a 30% mark up and they had to supply the safety manual drawn up for the oil company . As a sub we billed for motel bills, $50/diem, .70/km, flat hourly rate $110/hr, and billed for all consumables . travel time was at the flat hourly rate . insurances were on my dime

What estimating book or software do you recommend?
Once you get the job, you get some money on the front? Or depends how the job is get it done?
How many inches a day say 10hrs do you guys bid for 1 welder and helper?
It depends on what we expect to be doing. Carbon I bid for 100” - 200” per day per welder team. This will all depend on sch of pipe .
Stainless anywhere from 60-150 depending on sch.
