- We visited the Foothills Milling Co Restaurant in Maryville Tn. The restaurant is located in the old Studebaker and Edsel showroom. This is an upscale restaurant with wonderful service and wonderful food. Located not far from the Foothills Parkway in Wears Valley Tn and Townsend Tn. The mountains of East Tennessee helped shape an independent people who learned the value of community when the nearest city was at least a days journey away. At the center of small communities in the Appalachians and their foothills was more often than not, a mill. The mill became a place where people gathered to grind the corn won from a stubborn clay soil into meal and flour that would become the foundation of southern cuisine.
Today, the Foothills Milling Company strives to be the new cornerstone of extraordinary southern dining. The mill symbolizes the strength and self-sufficiency of East Tennessee communities and the original Wears Valley location had a working mill in the restaurant. While the tourist traffic in Wears Valley helped get Foothills Milling Co off to a good start, it wasn’t long before the people of Maryville had adopted Foothills as their own and so the restaurant was moved to its current location, a former Studebaker and Edsel showroom in downtown Maryville.
Not only has the restaurant’s image come from the foothills, but much of its food comes from the fruit of local farmers and businesses including Benton’s Bacon, Cruze Farms, and Vienna Coffee, a tradition that will stay with the restaurant for generations to come. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Click "Show More"

I had looked at menu online before I sent the gift card. I missed Karen’s salad 🥗 but picked the entrees! Good choices! I’m so glad you both enjoyed! Foothills Milling Co. is the best fine dining in East Tennessee area. Worth the drive that’s not too far out of Townsend, Wears Valley, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg area like Mike commented in the video.

We just got home from the Smokies thursday. We stayed in Townsend. We enjoyed the quieter side of the Smokies in August and stay on that side again. This time we came in through Knoxville and Maryville. Probably went right by it. Never heard of it until a couple days ago. Reminds me of our favorite steakhouse here locally and they took reservations. The only place in town like that. We went maybe a couple of times a year for special occasions. While we were in Tennessee last week, we found out that tonight would be there last night open after 51 years. I tried to call to make reservations but was unable to. The whole community is upset to see them go. Some employees have been there up to 47 years. I'll have to put this restaurant on our list for our next trip and treat ourselves to a special night. Thank you for showing us this hidden gem!

Folks, I'm going to go out on a limb here. Once upon a time MANY years ago, someone told us about a restaurant that was suppose to be the very best of the best, and I believe it is your restaurant. When we went, the restaurant was in Wears Valley, and we just plain forgot the name and location UNTIL I viewed your video. If this is the same place, I seem to remember it was owned by two men, I think brothers. One or the other or both are Chefs, and if memory serves me correctly they were from Memphis (University of Memphis) Memphis State!
If this is indeed the same people, the food they serve is beyond anything my wife and I have ever eaten at any price, it was beyond fantastic, could this be the same owners????
If this is the same owners, what you experienced cannot be matched, this is CLASS AAA eating, I remember the bread, and ours was like a four course meal, can't wait to see if this is the same company, it just does not get any better than their food, period!

I read the menu paused the video wrote down my choices tor both of you and I was correct. They were together on the menu. Steak and potatoes was first and the Salmon was 2nd. The food looked amazing . Glad you two enjoyed your meal.
My husband and I recently tried a new restaurant and immediately thought of you, Karen. The salmon was to die for and I’m not even fond of salmon. It was Sweet and Spicy Salmon - Pan seared North Atlantic salmon filet topped with Roasted peach and pineapple habanero glaze. It was paired with rice pilaf & chef veggies. But I replaced the rice with mashed sweet potatoes. This was by far the best salmon I have ever put in my mouth! The glaze with habanero was not spicy hot as I had feared. It was absolutely perfect. It was at Harpoon Harry’s Crab House in Pigeon Forge. Definitely a must try!

Many old classic cars were made in Northern Indians..
Dussenburg, Cord.. made in Auburn , close to Ft Wayne , Indiana...
That restaurant is pretty different looking from outside to inside...

I really enjoy the videos you guys post. I learned during one of your videos that you once lived in he Chattanooga area. Have you ever had Shuford’s BBQ in Chattanooga? My family and I ate there a few years ago and loved it. We had to eat there a second time before returning home to Mississippi.

Little too pricey for my side of the menu but the food looked like it was prepared to perfection and the bread looked to be one of a nonstop eating wonderland of butter and olive oil. The decor inside looked elegant and traditional" The outside was not something that would make one wish to have dinner though. Once more you have invited us along on your wonderful adventures of dining. I am not sure of the location, address. Found it, 315 S Washington St, Maryville, TN 37804.
