Sad news this week from the Slipknot camp, Gabrielle Crahan, the youngest daughter of SLipknot percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, Clown, died this past Saturday at the age of 22. Her father tweeted the news saying "it is with a broken heart and from a place of the deepest pain that I have to inform all of you that Gabrielle passed away yesterday...funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you". Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Crahan family
in other slipknot news, we got to see the new masks that were unveiled this past week, to coincide with the release of the bands 6th studio album "We Are Not Your Kind" due out on Aug. 9th, Corey says on his new mask: I wanted it to feel like it was something that was created in someones basement.
Papa Roach continue to pay homage to the late Prodigy singer Keith Flint by covering "Firestarter" in their live sets. They played at this past weekends "Sonic Temple festival in Columbus Ohio and it was a special one. Jacoby explained to the crowd, P Roach was called in to take the place at the festival after Flint died. He says "I responded, Hell yes. I would love to be a part of this. and we couldn't do it without honoring Mr. Keith Flint, The Firestarter"
A Day To Remember's self help festival will have 2 different lineups and take place in 2 cities this fall. In Worchester Massachutsetts on September the 7th, with support from Falling IN Reverse, Fever 333, Whitechapel and others. and in San Bernadino, CA on Oct. the 12th with I Prevail, Beartooth, Periphery and others
also, Ghost have added nine shows to their fall tour, which kicks off September 13th in Bakersfiels, CA tickets on sale now.
Marilyn Manson has joined the cast of the New Pope, HBO's followup to its series The Young Pope. Manson tweeted "The New Pope is gonna be fantastic. When in Rome" He didn't say which role he will be playing
A couple of Kurt Cobain items brought way more then expected at a recent auction held in NYC. A cardigan Kurt wore in the last Nirvana photoshoot, for their In Utero album, that was estimated to go for around $20,000. sold for $75,000. A paper plate he supposedly ate pizza from and then scrawled a set list for a show on it brought in $22,000.
