Also, if anybody wants to eat this down, get some dobbio passo (red wine) with young parmigiana, Parma ham and some proper slow-yeast effect bread. And the occasional ripe red grapes and figs. Garlic and olive oil and black pepper.
Once you do this, you'll know why it's done. Get some people together and get some white or mozzaralle pizzas to accompany it for calories.
Opera in Italy was always music for the masses, before it was appropriated by other European cultures. And, well, the Italian food...
Also, sorry, greetings from a white European with some black sisters.

This song is part of a larger story..my explanation is NOT perfect, but... from a Puccini opera called "Turandot" ... the basic story he is singing is the final act ,
A young Man Named " CalaF" falls madly in Love at first sight with the Majestic Princess "Tarandot"
She is very cold , and unobtainable to any man. yet the most beautiful Woman in the land.
Any man who tries to take her hand in marriage must answer her three Riddles.
if he fails, he will be beheaded.....
in the Previous part, " CalaF " has correctly answered the three riddles ,
he now kneels before her, correctly asking for her hand....and she pleads with him not to hold her to her words....begging no....
she says She doesnt even know is name..
He gives her one more chance ...and says
"If you Know my name by Sunrise, I shall not take your hand in Marriage, and you may Execute me Princess"
The Ruthless Princess demands no servants and townsfolk sleep until his name is revealed, if they fail, heads will Roll....
CalaF is alone in the moonlight in the palace gardens hearing the Princess give her heated, angry instructions to her servants
He begins to sing this piece:
    No sleep!Nessun dorma!
    No sleep
    !Nessun dorma!
    You too, oh Princess
    Tu pure, oh Principessa
    In your cold room
    Nella tua fredda stanza
Look at the stars that tremble
    Guardi le stelle che tremano
    Of love and hope
    D'amore e di speranza
But my mystery is closed in me
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
No one will know my nameI
    l nome mio nessun saprà
No, no, I'll say it on your mouth
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
    When the light shines
    Quando la luce splenderà
    And my kiss will melt
    Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
The silence that makes you mine
Il silenzio che ti fa mia
(No one will know his name(
    ll nome suo nessun saprà
And we must, alas, die, die)
E noi dovrem, ahimè, morir, morir)
    Fade away, oh nigh
    tDilegua, oh notte
    Set, stars
    Tramontate, stelle
    Set, stars
    Tramontate, stelle
    I'll win at dawn
    All'alba vincerò
    I will win
    Vincero
    I will win
    Vincerò

I've seen a lot of reactions of "Nessun dorma" with Pavarotti and this is my favorite. The funniest at all. A man who don't cry hearing this song is not a true man, so it's not a shame, absolutely not. I love you man. Thanks and ciao from Italy.

It is a blessing to see someone who has, by means of their environment, been largely restricted in what variety of music they hear, and then be exposed to the magnificence of the maestro. I wonder how many times you heard a new rap artist and actually APPLAUDED their performance. I congratulate and thank you for expanding your music horizons. I know it can be difficult to do due to your peer group pressure. Now you know.

Your reaction is priceless. Pavarotti performed this role in the opera "Turandot" many times. At this concert, at the end of this song where he sings "I will win, I will win, I will win", his facial expressions reflect that role, he is acting. By now you have seen many videos of Pavarotti on UA-cam. I watch full operas, many have English subtitles so you know what its about. Try light, comical operas such as The Barber of Seville (Rossini) and The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart). Then attend an opera, you will love it.

This was from the opera Turandot

At the beginning of the opera, which is set in Peking, China, Calaf, an unknown prince, falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but haughty Princess Turandot. According to royal edict, however, any suitor who wishes to marry her must correctly answer three riddles. Those who fail are killed. Despite protests from his father and his servant, Calaf accepts the challenge and is determined to marry Turandot.
Much to the delight of the princess's father, as well as the entire kingdom, Calaf answers all three riddles correctly. But Turandot refuses to marry this stranger. She doesn't even know his name. The prince then makes a deal with her: If she can figure out his name before dawn, he will gladly die. If she cannot, they will marry. Turandot agrees and the countdown begins.
Late that night, the princess declares that no one will sleep until she learns the name of her suitor. In fact, she cries out that everyone in the kingdom will be killed if no one steps forward to reveal Calaf's identity. Meanwhile, Calaf confidently sings "Nessun Dorma"-"Nobody shall sleep."
    No-one sleeps....no-one sleeps,
    Even you, O Princess,
    in your cold room,
    Watch the stars
    which tremble with love
    and hope!
But my secret is locked within me,
    no-one shall know my name!
No, no, I shall say it on your mouth
    when the light breaks!
And my kiss will break the silence
    that makes you mine!
    (No-one shall know his name,
    and we, alas, shall die!)
    Vanish, o night!
    Set, ye stars!
    At dawn I shall win!
    I shall win!!
    I shall win!!

    Nobody sleeps
    Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps!
    Neither do you, oh Princess,
    In your cold room,
    Look at the stars
That tremble with love and hope!

    But my mystery is locked within me;
No one will find out my name!
No, No! I will tell it to your lips when the light will shine!

And my kiss will melt the silence that makes you mine!

JUSTIN, PAVAROTTI HIMSELF SAID THAT CORELLI (WITH DEL MONACO) WAS THE GREATEST VOICE OF ALL TIME. NATURALLY CARUSO AND GIGLI CANNOT BE RATED FOR BAD RECORDING. YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST SEE FRANCO CORELLI ON UA-cam TO UNDERSTAND WHY PAVAROTTI WAS RIGHT: "NESSUN DORMA - FRANCO CORELLI" (1.277.358 VIEWS) AND THEN, THE MOST SPECTACULAR VOICE OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY: "MARIO DEL MONACO VESTI LA GIUBBA LIVE 1959 (BOLSHOI THEATER RUSSIA)" AND "MARIO DEL MONACO SINGS "DI QUELLA PIRA" " (258.786 VIEWS). FINALLY THE GREATEST VOICE OF THE POPULAR SONG OF ALL TIME "VILLA CLAUDIO - GRANADA" (4 MLN VIEWS).

I love how you connected opera with Catholic Church - that's a close connection. And your incidental music that you play in the background when you speak - that music is distracting from what you're saying. I want to hear your every word because your reaction is important for everyone to see. When we deprive our children of opera, look what they're missing out on!!!
