    Beautifully done. This young lady has no plans to race to the bottom like so many other UA-camrs are suggesting.
    And this is how you run a business instead of letting the business run you.

    In other words… it’s a lot of work to get the sale, especially full priced sales. It’s so easy to create sloppy listings, my listings get very sloppy and I have been doing this since 2001. … (let’s face it) most of us don’t enjoy listing, we enjoy sourcing/hunting/shopping. That’s why most resellers have ‘death piles’
    Reselling (with no help) is quite labor intensive. I would compare it to being a hairdresser or even a server, those jobs take effort, the more hours you put in, the more clients (or tables you serve) the more you make. The perk of reselling is you create your own hours and schedule.
    I also think the more listings you have, the bigger your store is, your odds of selling an item at full price increases. Listing quality very much matters. Great tips, great motivation! Thank you for shining light on this topic.😊

    eBay buyers are notorious for spamming you with ridiculously low offers…it’s freaking annoying. I agree…do your research..know what you have and what it’s worth…and wait for an informed realistic buyer to pick it up. People who try to get stuff for super cheap a lot of times end up being problem buyers after the sale anyway.

    In your opinion undercutting other sellers prices is not gonna cause race to bottom?

    • @cayleyelaine
      @cayleyelaine  2 місяці тому

      Not me alone. It would have to be majority of sellers undercutting at the same time. Most of the time when a brand tanks, it's because it gains popularity and every reseller wants to list it. Supply goes up but demand remains the same, this causes oversaturation. Now that there's an abundance of the clothing, buyers will only shop from the lowest priced, or the ones on the first search result page. Most items become stale and over time, people drop their prices to try and sell it off but it's usually too late. This is how a market tanks.

    It also helps if the buyer actually SEES your listing... if two identical listings are for sale and 1 is from a seller who lists large amounts of items daily, has a big store - ebay will have that listing front and center, the other listing from a small seller who lists maybe 2-3 items a day and has a smaller store - their listing will be buried. Sad but true. I'm a top rated seller with over 3k 5 star feedback - I'd love to not take offers - tried that many times and got 0 sales! When I get offers and counter, 99% of the time the buyer disappears. I guess listing with "No Offers" but constantly sending out offers to likers is basically the same thing just way more work. Glad it works for you ...

    • @cayleyelaine
      @cayleyelaine  4 місяці тому

      Do you have an example of two listings like this? Sometimes it may seem like listings are identical but they are probably not. There are probably some subtle differences.

    • @pennyluck9696
      @pennyluck9696 4 місяці тому +1

      @@cayleyelaine After 20 years of selling - yeah I've seen many examples LOL! I'm talking easy "identicals" - think like Levi's 505 women's jeans... the subtle difference is what I explained. It's a pretty well known ebay practice - they want the stores that have a lot of inventory, daily large listing dumps, shown to buyers. I remember looking at a very well known youtuber/ebay clothing seller's store and was shocked at how crappy his photos were along with incorrect titles/descriptions (calling a polo shirt a tee, listing bootcut jeans as skinny, etc.) yet he sells hundreds of items daily - you see this enough and it all starts to make sense LOL!

    • @cayleyelaine
      @cayleyelaine  4 місяці тому

      @pennyluck9696 it's definitely a complicated algorithm. Having consistent sales would show the algorithm that buyers are seeing the listings and purchasing, which tells the algorithm that the seller makes quality listings, and they then get promoted in search over others because ebay wants to show listings that will sell. So it would make sense that a successful seller would be in the top search. However, I'm not sure I agree that just because someone's store is large means they are being shown to the top of search. If their listings are showing up at the top it's probably because they are doing something right majority of the time (even with those mistakes). But, I am not familiar with the video or the seller you are speaking of. If you'd like to send the link to the video you are talking about, I'd be happy to watch it and do my own research.

    • @cayleyelaine

      The only time I accept offers is if it's a really old item or an item I don't know the value of. If were to try it out, just remember you can still send out offers to likers. You can even turn on counteroffers when you send the offers to likers.

My fear is TONS of women, especially, won't hesitate to return clothing if it's free and simple to do. SO my question is did you go from not many returns to a LOT more returns when you made the decision to do Free Returns? Or in general do you get a lot of returns because you have always been Free returns? Thank you! Your videos are just so filled with great information! You are a very impressive seller ;) I do consistent sales month to month. It pays my mortgage +. BUT I KNOW I can do more so I'm working on that. I only list 3-4 items a day and sell 80-100 items a month. I want to double that! I'm hoping 6-8 listings a day will do that. But also considering the free returns and turning off Best Offer.

    • @cayleyelaine
      @cayleyelaine  4 місяці тому +1

      My thoughts are...buyers can force returns so you might as well offer them and get the added benefits. The more sales you get, the more returns you will have. It's just part of business. I think I saw a very slight increase in returns when I switched to free returns but the amount of sales increase I got from it far outweighed the returns.

    As far as titles are concerned as well, it’s my opinion that “keyword stuffing” your title is a waste of time and doesn’t really accomplish anything other than confusing a buyer with too much information. Anything you put in item specifics and your description will be indexed by the algorithm just the same as if they were in your title. It’s best to keep your titles direct and short and sweet with the most relevant keywords that tell a buyer exactly what they’re looking at…and then place all the 2nd and 3rd tier keywords in other places within the listing. Just my two cents. 🤷🏼‍♂️
