W O W ! ! ! Most of us understand the cup and ball trick, but man.. his speed and level of perfection make him incredible! Superb showmanship, and he never once got to a boring point, I have tried to watch and pause for the ball switches, and I still cant see it.. can anyone else? He has to be one of the best at this trick in history.
Wow. Just wow. This is a simple trick and every amateur magician and his brother knows the secret, but the way he does this, and the twist he adds... Wow. So smooth, so quick. I only WISH I was smooth enough to do this trick this well with classic cups and balls, let alone clear glass. This is amazing. What else can I say?
I saw this years ago and I was baffled but now after studying magic for quite a while I can figure out how he does quite a bit of this....though there's no way I would EVER be able to actually do it!!!! He's such a pro.
vernonclassic Well at least i'm not an attention-starved lowlife that sits and looks through four months worth of comments. Have you ever thought about getting a life? It's really popular. All the cool kids are doing it.
Like most GREAT MAGIC, the secret is incredibly simple. What distinguishes him- and other greats- is his execution of the effect, and how he truly makes the impossible appear possible. Thank you, young man! Best wishes for a great career!
Jason Latimer is amazing, he was sitting watching my close-up one night at the Magic Castle and I had to stop because my stuff is crap compared to his.
Saw Jason several years ago at The Magic Castle and can vouch for it that it's real. Okay, sleight of hand, not as in 'real magic'. I do the cups, but not like this. He is amazingly brilliant and modestly humble as well... Great share. Thanks James James
The lack of applause was due to the shock of the audience. Sometimes you can be too good for applause. Stunned silence is sometimes a greater compliment.
I love this so much! ''THEY'RE CLEAR'' my mind shouts, but what joyous acting and king of slick movements to make this performance so re-watchable and wonderfully baffling. Everytime! Mr Latimer is talent indeed!! :)R
great job! I've seen this done hundreds of times, but I must say I am very impressed with your presentation. You have great skill and showmanship at such a young age!
I think when Penn and Teller started doing the cups and balls trick with clear cups and explaining how it's done, they were basically challenging the magic community to come up with something new instead of exploiting the same old tricks, some of which are probably hundreds - if not thousands of years old. Latimer doing a version of the cups and balls trick with clear cups seems like a direct response..
im so glad that there aren't a bunch of "experts" and i use the term extremely loosely, sitting there on their computer who have probably never even seen anything resembling a ball, telling "exactly" how the trick is done, SO glad, its so annoying, thankfully people who have watched this video are, you know actual fans of the allure and beauty of magic.
Theoretically, the trick is easy: The cup is translucent (not transparent i.e. the reason you can't fully see through them), thus allowing the magician, Latimer, in this case, to do his slight of hand wizardry and hide all sorts of things when the cups are at certain angles with reference to light. Even saying this, this magician is ridiculously gifted at slight of hand and positioning, as well as overall spectacle and mysticism. Truly Astonishing!.
i think i have an idea of how its done, i already know how moving the balls works, but iv never seen someone do this with clear cups , makes the trick so much better
if you see this in infrared, you will see that he actually has two more hands that are invisible to the naked eye, that's how he does his magic tricks.
Each glass is double layered, and the balls are in each one. The only rhing he do is change the position of ball from inner to outer glass to make it visible as the inner glass is silver coated.
gotta love when he places the box on the table, lifts it up and 3 cups appear, gives the audience a look.....and not one single clap.
I know exactly how this is done, but how quick his hands are and how easily he does it is far more impressive than the illusion is to me.
+vernonclassic squishy table
He cheated, he used real magic.

Magician comes in with sleeveless shirt. in my head "shits about to get real"
1:57 i actually see ball disappear and reappear in a different place. im slightly scared.
Tried putting it on .25 speed, still can't see him doing it :O
1:57 OH MY GOD WHO GAVE HIM A PORTAL GUN????

Wowwww, this is the one cups and balls routine that continues to amaze me no matter how much I watch it.
I saw this years ago and I was baffled but now after studying magic for quite a while I can figure out how he does quite a bit of this....though there's no way I would EVER be able to actually do it!!!! He's such a pro.
So... this guy is why some women don't know how they got pregnant... * slow clap *
Poor attempt at trolling.
aussiehero92
I guess it would be... if I was trolling.
Equating a magician to a date rapist = trolling.. poor effort.
And what about you? You're looking through comments from way back in may!

Everyone knows how the cups and balls are done. But to be done with such speed, his sleight of hand is crazy.
Like most GREAT MAGIC, the secret is incredibly simple.

I have watched 1:56 like a million times and it literally disappears :( Waah, I'm a muggle
Absolutely beautiful to watch. This is true magic and this is what entertains, not some stupid camera trick show like Cris Angel
Jason Latimer is amazing, he was sitting watching my close-up one night at the Magic Castle and I had to stop because my stuff is crap compared to his.
Very very good. The balls fall into the table and hop back upwards. And he uses gluestripes on his arm. Really awesomt timing and show.
A mixture of techniques seem to be in employment here. The cups may not be as innocent as they seem.
Saw Jason several years ago at The Magic Castle and can vouch for it that it's real. Okay, sleight of hand, not as in 'real magic'.

I'd love to see Penn & Teller react to this act for the first time.
The lack of applause was due to the shock of the audience. Sometimes you can be too good for applause. Stunned silence is sometimes a greater compliment.
Demons help him. He made a pact, like all real supernatural magicians do.
1:57 that was amazing It al happend so clearly in front of everyone but I still can't tell how that happened.
I love this so much! ''THEY'RE CLEAR'' my mind shouts, but what joyous acting and king of slick movements to make this performance so re-watchable and wonderfully baffling. Everytime! Mr Latimer is talent indeed!! :)R
His beauty is the trick. Takes off our concentration.
great job! I've seen this done hundreds of times, but I must say I am very impressed with your presentation. You have great skill and showmanship at such a young age!
Penn and Teller do something similar but this is the best I've EVER seen.
at 1:55 u can see how the ball falls into the table
+petr kavan ayy lmao
+petr kavan i saw that too. still not sure exactly how he'd control that though
Unbelievable slight of hand. What a master.
Iv'e come up with a logical explanation for all of this, he's a wizard.
I have watched it several times (dozens) and it still impresses me a lot! Does anyone know some data about the sound track used here?
That made my hair stand up. WOW. I have watched a lot of magic, was prepared to be mildly impressed by this guy, and instead he flat-out _stunned_ me.
Not only does he have amazing slight of hand, he also has amazing rhythm.
I was all "Damn this guy's great at slight of hand" until 1:58 where I was like "Dude what"
Back ground music is so nice
1:55 and that's when I decided he could teleport objects.
He's very, very good, and knows which direction his audience is viewing from.
So perfect palming, and timing with the glasses, mixed with his presantation and a little misdirection if fucking mindblowinlgy awesome to watch!
I think when Penn and Teller started doing the cups and balls trick with clear cups and explaining how it's done, they were basically challenging the magic community to come up with something new instead of exploiting the same old tricks, some of which are probably hundreds - if not thousands of years old. 1:57 repeat it over and over again, freaking gnarly!
This is the type of magic I LOVE. You can watch it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again! But you'll never guess it!
name of that song, please.
bringing ball and a cup to the next level. i respect this man.
Thumbs up if you tried watching it frame by frame to catch a glimpse of his secret but it still looked like real magic, lol.
im so glad that there aren't a bunch of "experts" and i use the term extremely loosely, sitting there on their computer who have probably never even seen anything resembling a ball, telling "exactly" how the trick is done, SO glad, its so annoying, thankfully people who have watched this video are, you know actual fans of the allure and beauty of magic.
i was told to watch this video at .5 speed and that i would still have no clue how he did it, well i am not dissapointed
Theoretically, the trick is easy: The cup is translucent (not transparent i.e. the reason you can't fully see through them), thus allowing the magician, Latimer, in this case, to do his slight of hand wizardry and hide all sorts of things when the cups are at certain angles with reference to light. Well, I was just about to grab my torch and pitchfork....
Amazing tricks!
His sleight of hand is fantastic.
Take that Penn & Teller.
Welcome to the Internet. I started reading an article about George Tekei's new musical and wound up here.
I watch some of these passes at 0.25 speed and it still looks like the ball just vanishes into the table and appears in the other cup.
@ 1:56 you can see the 3rd ball pop into the 3rd cup! i'm not sure how but damn!
best version of the oldest magic trick
you know shit is real demonic when crystal ball gets summoned 3:52
Like him or not, have to admit, he's got balls.
Hey man, that was awesome! The only guy I've ever seen to use clear cups.. Cool.
im still picking up the pieces of my mind
If you look, you can see some of it. But only if you're really trying. He is great
This guy stole my social security number just from shaking my hand
such talent... also the music is very good too.
Song name pls
Incredible... best cup and balls I've ever seen.
1:57 watch the lone ball, holy crap
i think i have an idea of how its done, i already know how moving the balls works, but iv never seen someone do this with clear cups , makes the trick so much better
"you got ball son!" "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahah"
just very good slight of hand. well done
song name pleaaaase!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning! Absolute sorcery!
1:55 wait... what???? WTF OH MY GOD
Just excellent slight of hand.
Hagrid: "You're a wizard, Jason."
AMAZING slight of hand
he is so cute-- i love his reactions and surprise to his own tricks-- haha adorable^^
I can't help it. This guy reminds me of Barney Stinson from HIMYM. And his trick is legend...waitforit...dary aswell. Nicely done.
at 1:56 the ball in the left cup clearly sinks in the table and into the right cup with the other 2. HOW IS THIS POSSIBlE. ??????
that's probably the greatest magic trick i have ever seen..EVER!
Name of the song anyone??
It is the classical cups and balls of the future (a classic game but with fast movements) nice touch.
What's the song? ANYONE???
Thumbs up. Thumbs up everywhere.
transparent!! that's new!!
Just as good as Teller when it comes to slight of hand :D
if you see this in infrared, you will see that he actually has two more hands that are invisible to the naked eye, that's how he does his magic tricks.
306mario Re zero confirmed!
Each glass is double layered, and the balls are in each one. The only rhing he do is change the position of ball from inner to outer glass to make it visible as the inner glass is silver coated.
It's speed people, this guy would make an amazing thief/con artist lmao
Really good sleight of hand, having it on video gives you a reaaaally close look though
Do I have to sell my soul to do this?
wow... its killing me!!! and so much FUNnnnnn!!!! simply amazing
1:57 ...i'm so confused.
Fantastic stuff. Dude's got incredible skill.
1:55 After 10 times: WTF HOW?
It's quite possibly the most perfectly executed cups & balls trick.
What is the songs name? :)
Great tricks and a great performer too. Wish I knew how to even do one of those tricks... I'd use it to impress the ladies...
*“Filthy Muggles....”*
Never seen cups and balls done like this. Quite impressive.
I'm trippin balls here 😳
unbelievable...UNBELIEVABLE!
