I LOVE BOTH LEA AND LIZ!!! When Lea played Kim in Miss Saigon, Liz played Ellen - and during this production they both auditioned for Aladdin, but Lea got the voice role of Jasmine. Liz then sang for Jasmine in the second movie, and then Lea came back for the third Aladdin movie. And Liz earned the role of Odette in The Swan Princess. In 1997, Liz received the voice role of Anastasia, and in 1998, Lea earned the voice role of Mulan. Just some facts for you!!! I love these women so much!!!
lea did not comeback in the third movie, there is no song that she sung in the third aladdin movie, the song in the third movie title out of thin air and it was sung by liz callaway
Liz and Lea really have resemblances when they sing... I too thought that lea was anastasia until also saw liz who is also an equally brilliant singer //:)
When I first heard this song the first thing come in to my mind it was Lea who sang this for the movie Anastacia. Liz Callaway and Her really sounded a like. I love them both esp Lea Salonga (An avid fan here 🙌). And now I think my day is complete knowing Lea sung also this song that I mistakenly thought it was her who sang this originally. THANK YOU FOR COMPLETING MY LIFE 😚😙
Lea did not auditioned for Anastasia.. She was so busy with miss saigon and les miserables during that time.. That is the reason why liz Callaway was the singing voice of jasmine in aladdin's sequels.. Lea got the first part but lea and Liz was the last two standing during the auditioned for Princess jasmine... And Liz Callaway did the sequels because they do sound alike... Or maybe I'm wrong or haven't heard of it..
@@archietrinidad2663 You are right.. Liz was the singing voice of Jasmine in the Alladin sequels..Lea was unavailable..and true, Lea did not audition for Anastasia..

I watched a video where Gerphil sang the German song with the scene where she was dancing in the hall and I thought it was fantastic! But hearing Lea sing this, magical things entered my mind! It's making me feel wonderful! Truly a Disney Legend, my love!
Lea is pitch perfect as usual, but Liz's version has more joy and passion in it. Lea has more drama and pride in her singing, while Liz seems more vulnerable and warmer, but effortlessly powerful. Both are incredible singers.

Lea sings that word ‘past’ perfectly. The girl who plays Anastasia scoops that note in her UA-cam videos. I am not sure if it’s the musical director.s direction but it’s a turn off. Lea does it so well.
I also actually thought it was her that sang this in the movie production. Sad to have known it was a different singer but none the less, Liz Callaway is a great singer. I just prefer Lea over her a hundred times.
The truth is that I am a star magic workshop student on basic voice and I am one of the soloists of Journey to the Past and wow, published on my recital and on of my favorite artists is Lea.
Lea is amazing as always, but I think Liz hits the high notes more effortlessly and keeps her tone fuller. Most people tend to favor Lea, and Liz is sort of underrated... but if you listen carefully, Liz surpasses Lea at times.
Liz simply has a fuller tone, doesn’t mean it’s objectively better. Liz also tends to fall back on her falsetto more than Lea, so it honestly balances out.
Lea and Liz used to sound so alike with gorgeous, flowy voices, but Liz’s voice has developed a nasal and scratchy texture as she got older that it’s quite bothersome to hear her nowadays. Still love her, though!

Thank you.. love both their voices..both crystal clear..wish I have the same or at least half of their voices.. huhuhu I need years of practice🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Angelic version. The way she sang fits a Disney character perfectly
Tran Tho Uhmmm she is a disney character, she provided singing voices for two disney princess, Jasmine and Mulan. Plus she’s already a Disney Legend
Wow! It sounds like the original! And how amazing that she sang it live flawlessly!
Adrian Acedillo she is the singer from the movie version anastasia. she is also mulan and jasmin.
jillian go in the movie was Liz Callaway not Lea Salonga

I'm not 100% certain, but I do believe that Liz Callaway actually sang for Princess Jasmine in the other movies that went straight to DVD.
I love it the most when the two lady duet for the song I Still Believe. God that was amazing. 😄
Jennifer Loui yes she did! They have such amazingly similar voices !

CRYSTAL CLEAR. OH MY GOD. PERFECT!!!!!
she really puts emotion to the song itself with just her voice...it's amazingly beautiful. she is owning this song.
i love Lea's version!!

Oh my! I didn't know she had a version of this. I've always thought the song will be amazing for her. Thanks for sharing.

THIS WOMAN IS A QUEEN
OMG! This is what I've been waiting to happen for the longest time. I can't believe I've only seen this now. As always, Lea's amazing! 😍😍😍
Lea and Liz sound so alike. Goosebumps 😍😍😍
And Christy
Finally i heard her version
P
beautiful voice - great song - nothing more to add
IMO No one sings this song live better than Lea. When she sings a Disney song on stage, it really has that Disney princess-ish sound.
I’ve been meaning to find this since I saw Lea’s PBS concert special from Sydney. She really nails this song
love it! lea salonga is 💖
Lea Salonga is a real queen. She will always be a Disney legend.
I absolutely love this song❤❤❤
GOD I LOVE LEA SALONGA!
The vocalist of two of my favourite Disney princesses singing one of my favourite songs from my absolutely favourite animated film- in the realm of 'Grandma has a special animated movie with each of her granddaughters' in my family is mine and my grandmother's? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED UNTIL NOW??
Lea Solonga is like Liz Callaway's closest clone. So beautiful!!!
Nathan R. Bradford have you heard Christy Altomare's rendition of Journey to the Past for the Broadway show? she's amazing and sounds a lot like Liz.
Oh I haven't, but I bet that is awesome!
To this day… Lea’s rendition still remains the most beautiful. 😮

Courage, don't desert me!
Don't turn back now that we're here.

Ang ganda ng teeth niya talaga. Lahat maganda sa kanya. Beauty and brains and super talented pa.
Lea sang it well ❤ proud to be Filipino
OH MY GOD! I LOVE THIS!

Bravo Lea!
Lea and Liz are my favourite

I hope Lea & Liz will do duet someday 🙏🙌😍💖
They already did
Love her head voice.
Lea you are good at playing my 2 favorite Disney Princesses Jasmine and Mulan
I also actually thought it was her that sang this in the movie production. Sad to have known it was a different singer but none the less, Liz Callaway is a great singer. I just prefer Lea over her a hundred times.
it's actually kinda impossible for Lea to sing this cause she is bound to Disney , this is Fox , so yeah.
@@KHobbies_cina you forget who owns Fox...
@@MartyMusic777 This movie came out two decades before Disney purchased Fox.

Totally agree!
I agree

I totally agree.,.,., 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Liz and Lea do sound so much alike, Lea sings with so much emotion and expression.
Lea Salonga does not sound like Liz Callaway. Liz Callaway sounds like Lea Salonga.
god... what hasn't she sang?
She sounds almost just like Liz Callaway :)
When this concert happened? It is outside the Philippines?
Is there anything she hasn't sang?
Curious, how old was she here?
Music is a bit too loud for her.
that’s true
Lea and Liz used to sound so alike with gorgeous, flowy voices, but Liz’s voice has developed a nasal and scratchy texture as she got older that it’s quite bothersome to hear her nowadays. Still love her, though!
she sounds like the original.
i am hearing the original.. 😅✌️
Both Versions Are Good But I Prefer Liz Callaway's Version
Aaliyahs version is better
This is good but Aaliyah did this better 😏
Runako Porter Kidding!
Tran Tho absolutely not. Have you heard it ?
Runako Porter aaliyah version is not a princess's version..
Runako Porter Of course Yes. I had just heard it before I wrote the comment.
Yes Aaliyah sounds more heavenly
Lea Solonga is like Liz Callaway's closest clone. So beautiful!!!
I think you got your names the other way around brother
Nah, they got it right.
Shouldn't it be the other way around? Lea sang on the first Alladin movie, Liz on the second. Then Lea again on the third.
Nope lea was first and Liz was 2nd and 3rd
And both their voices, still, did not falter after all these years.
