I'm a Ole school sneakerhead and I miss the sneaker culture I grew up in, their was no hype hypebeast, all about resell and allowing resell value determined whether you should cop a sneaker you like, we just copped sneakers we really liked PERIOD that's it that's all!!! The passion for sneakers is gone in this new sneaker culture, but will FOREVER live in ME and I will continue to cop what I like, I have a very diverse sneaker collection, I just love and passionate about lots of sneaker brands and silhouettes!!!
This review was 🎯🎯🎯 I picked up the same white/red pair and have been a fan since I first layed eyes on them as well. My favorite part of the sneaker besides the hangtag is the fact you can take the laces through the back and lace them that way. Premium materials on this one. Wearable art man which is what sneakers really are. You can take these from the cubicle to the club and to church! Mine actually arrive today from the Nina Chanel site raffle and I can’t wait to see em in hand! Great review Kari! 💯
Probably my favorite collab of the year so far tbh and I absolutely loved the maniere 2s but the minimalist take on the silhouette and Chicago vibes on this is too clean. Also those hoodies are incredibly fire and topped off the collection for me.
Very well articulated review, Kari! The resell market, hype and influential artistic talent aside; this particular collab wasn't inclusive of all of us. Artwork, dialog and storytelling is great but the ability to wear it is above all.
I missed out on the retail BUT I copped for 80 under retail which is bittersweet…these are Fire but I’m happy the hypes didn’t go nuts so the resale wasn’t ridiculous.
As much as I love the Jordan 1 and most of the Tinker-era Jordans, the Jordan 2 is such a special and underrated shoe to me. Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore took the basic elements of an Air Force 1-style Nike basketball boot and brought them to a really futuristic and luxurious place that was way ahead of its time for 1986, looking completely unlike any other athletic shoe that had come before it. Some of the AJ-2 colorways including the Radio Raheem and the Wing It are hands down some of the best-looking Jordans of all time, and the basic build of this shoe has also supported some really creative design variations including the Deconstructeds and the Just Don, Union LA, and J. Balvin collabs. Of the three Chicago-adjacent 2s we're getting this year--the other two being the A Ma Maniere from June and the actual Chicago re-release due in December--I think this one looks the best by far. As bulky and layered as the original AJ-2 was, it had a clean and minimalist upper compared to the early-80s Nikes it derived from, and revamping it to be further minimalist and modernist (particularly when all of the other AJ-2 collabs tend to make the upper busier and more detailed) was an inspired direction, and I love the pops of gym red and black against all that white. Just a very clean and unique shoe. The fact that this is sitting below retail on GOAT when the vast majority of Jordans will float at $400-500 is crazy to me.
I love these 2’s the best 2 collab so far! So clean & simple people really slept on these! I’m glad I waited & got mines for $165 on the after market well under retail & definitely worth it!
They are sooo good fam. These are important to those who enjoy more than just wearing their kicks. The packaging and art piece is well worth the price, Home run in IMO.
I’ve been meaning to comment on this video for a while and got sidetracked. Anyway, thanks to you I went a copped these joints and for over a hundred dollars off of retail. So for people like me I was able to benefit from the lack of hype. I love stories, so to be able to cop sneakers that have a story behind them always excites me. Also, being able to cop black owned collaborations is a plus for me. Great review as always.

Appreciate the commentary on this. I’ve often said that as of late, the essence of sneakers has lost its luster to hype and resell. I also appreciate the detail of the backstory. Gives me a new perspective on the shoe. I still might not like them but I respect what was done here and now have my eyes open to her future body of work.
This was an exceptional review and I'm glad you took the time to create it. Art can cross any boundary and it certainly did with these. Is it exactly my style, no, but I appreciate it and am very happy that it's available and something different in a sea of never ending Jordan 1's.

Great video! I definitely believe that not all shoes are for everyone, and 2022 is providing that to us. Variety of shoes where people can't make up their mind since there is low hype and almost no resale. Great for people who actually like the shoe and can pick them up easily.

If she makes these in the same Blue, (same color design in blue) I’ll probably cop. I like them…the sneakers alone. The box & hang tag adds even more value for me.
Everything is great about this release except the comfort of the shoes themselves. They hurt so much on my achille's I was walking like I had bricks on my feet after 10 minutes. It's a pity because they do look awesome.
It was a dope shoe. Both, the highs and lows. But the stock was so low in my size it was almost impossible to cop! I just let the women have them. But it’s still a dope collab!
Those are premium in every way. Got some in not my size and it makes me so sad. The box, the hang tag, the shoe nothing is wrong on it. Wish I could keep, but gotta beat feet for something for my feet.

Nina Chanel and I were born and raised in the same city in Chi south suburbs and graduated from the same high-school in a different city in Chi suburbs. I'm a huge supporter and they are a HUGE MUST!!! Beautiful jordan 2's in my personal opinion and to have a piece of her amazing art work on the hang tag and Box is everything!!!
