  • Fat White Family sound just like they look-diseased, drug addled, utterly corrupt. The fact that they live above a London pub that stages exhibitions of rectal hand insertions, all while serving Sunday lunch to families, is an almost too-perfect addendum to their bio. Champagne Holocaust is the band’s debut album, a no-budget affair originally released on Bandcamp and now getting a belated North American release after gaining a swell of attention in the UK. The nucleus of the six-piece band is two Northern Irish brothers, Lias and Nathan Saoudi, plus guitarist Saul Adamczewski, formerly of failed indie-punk outfit the Metros. If the album sounds like it cost about 10 of their English pence to record, then it probably did-but that’s all part of Fat White Family’s squalid charm, where rampant idiocy, intelligence, and deranged humor combine.
    About A-Sides with Jon Chattman:
Jon Chattman¹s music series features celebrities and artists (established or not) from all genres performing a track, and discussing what it means to them. This informal series focuses on the artist making art in a low-threatening, extremely informal (sometime humorous) way. No bells, no whistles ‹ just the music performed in a random, low-key setting followed by an unrehearsed chat. In an industry where everything often gets overblown and over manufactured, Jon strives for a refreshing change.

Not sure how well talked about the DADA movement and degenerate art movement is over seas but in america nobody even cares. and I swear it gives perfect blueprints on how easy this "punk" definition comes into play.
I just go off a nirvana liner note that kurt cobain wrote in his teen days .. simple and sweet. The definition of punk.
"to want to not, because everyone else is" It should not be followed, but viewed and applied. Because if yiour not having fun your doing it wrong!!! Probably why i enjoy people who can not get wrapped up in genres. Probably why I found this music a few years ago and latched on. I am so happy for you guys. and I piss on the haters because they fall for that very line given above.

odiumimbues Seen your comments all over Nirvana videos. I am glad these guys exist, I am getting rather tied of following Kurt's punk rock roots. Do you happen to know of any other great modern bands?

eɔuarongI yW ǝƃılbO don't be tired. The only advice I can give is listen to whatever the fuck you want. This entire p.c. opinions on music and what's shaped what and what band is important talk is nonsense. Kurt cobain was a Peter pan. He stayed a child. His music reflected basic child needs. Kind of like a loving imaginary friend, or God.
Anyways...the fat whites started as a protest band. To me, they are still protesting. This is what draws me in is that they aren't thriving on this wannabe talk of" musical passion" but instead using music as a tool. Its pure because at the moment it's not self aware. Way to jinx it right?
So for recommendations after all this useless babble? Click everything and judge it to your own standards. Bands that I'm into ...check out my favorites videos playlist.
