This 5 minutes and 57 seconds of Live at the Chapel literally changed my life. Happened to stumble across it, channel-surfing, when it was on channel 10 late one night, years ago. It was the first time I'd ever heard these guys, and I fell in love... and the rest was history! :)
I've seen them play this live with their trumpet player (Achilleas), but this is probably the most beautiful and most well-recorded rendition of it yet.
Dandy's on my bucket list since 2000. One week out from their show in Melbourne and COVID strikes the Hoodoos Gurus so no show. Still waiting to tick this particular box....
@jfreevinson - check out the black and white recording of the DW's at the German festival when C.Talyor had his "mohawk" haircut..Great live version of "Good Morning"!
@ClubCrain Aside from being a very good drummer him and Courtney also harmonize as well or better than anyone in rock. For Gods sake listen. Thats how he got the gig.
thanks for this video!!! i'm in love with this song.. the intro is even more beautiful, the only annoying thing is the drummer voice, it sounds too loud :(
@TheGoodShannon he also uses it on a Fender Bass VI to give it that fantastic deep resonance. Just saying because if someone tries this on a regular guitar it wont sound anywhere near as good. You need a baritone!
Stay " la boheme".. it's suit's you never to conform! Dug the tails TTC ( sounds like a rave band.. jokin'dude chill..jeez).. long time fan only been a arse when " very very dwunk..hic!".. bjm can lick my pim.."Dig!?".. from Scotland but lived in Berlin for a couple of years.. didn't even scratch the surface, despite meeting debatable "Stars".. in der East in late 80s,early 90s, when you couldn't see your hand in front of your face ..ah, good time's..i fink?
i don't like that they don't play this great great song correct. The guitar melody without drums is correct but with the drums it's just in the tact so not correct

@TwoPointsUp I checked out "Good Morning" version you recommended, thanks, it was great.
I beg, I plead. But this is all I have gotten.
anyone know the name of the thing peter uses to play the intro with is?
@ClubCrain Aside from being a very good drummer him and Courtney also harmonize as well or better than anyone in rock. For Gods sake listen. Thats how he got the gig.
What is the guitarist using at the intro to hold that sweet sweet sound?
Ebow on a Fender VI. :)
this sounds pretty good, m8

@TheGoodShannon Oh cool thanks. :)
What a quality live sound recording! Ace job from the sound engineers. Wish this was HD ;)
@lindab30 - What BJM song does it sound like?- just curious (want to hear!)..They both came out early 1990's..Cheers.
Wow class video. This looks pretty recent. Do you know when it was recorded by any chance?
Love Dandy !!....btw..what is carrot top doing on drums ? :P
@TwoPointsUp SERVO by BJM - very similar
@TheGoodShannon he also uses it on a Fender Bass VI to give it that fantastic deep resonance. Just saying because if someone tries this on a regular guitar it wont sound anywhere near as good. You need a baritone!
@TheGoodShannon I'm naming my first son ebow.

why does a bass need a tremolo arm? I can't believe its a bass (Fender VI)
Unbeiveably so BJM - who came first - this is f*&&& good to!
Felipe Dos chapa....
If you want? [I got my ass kicked real bad
this sounds like BJM

"godless at the
chapel".....ahahahaha!
will the Dandys ever sound good live?
It's slightly ironic that they're play godless in a chapel. Maybe that's the point?
