Magic Trick88 nah FaceID is definitely more expensive & more complicated & harder to manufacture since it’s a 1 in 1,000,000 3D face recognition hardware
Have had this phone for almost a year. Specs and performance are impressive, especially if you can get it for 500 USD or less. It really is a power house budget phone, but some things to keep in mind: The durability of the hardware is questionable. My USB C port has been shorting out and phone now has a tendency to freeze/crash once every few days. Its also important to note that while you do get a 1440p screen with 120hz refresh, its not an OLED, but an old school LCD panel. Not bad, but you'll notice that colors aren't nearly as vibrant as an OLED. Screen brightness has been a big issue for me as well.
@@magnum4478 look at you big man, reviving an 8 month year old Post. At 400 bucks, nothing can compete with these speakers, 8 gb RAM, 120hz@2k screen, and same processor that the s9 uses

16:9 display with big front facing speak grill still looks modern design to me, every manufacturer being a sheep these days, unnecessary tall displays which in turn have ugly notches and useless chins and bad camera humps, I like the way Razer phone 2 is, if the camera is comparable to the competition, probably a better buy than most modern flagships. Yes. Razer is different from most other android smartphone makers. They're not going to follow Apple. There's a reason why they bought Nextbit. Edit: The reason being: THE DESIGN OF THE ROBIN PHONE
@@neitherlink6612 Yeah, but Google isn't trying to make a smartphone for gamers. However, Razer is. They wanted a different design, so that they can stand out among other flagship phones. Before you mention Samsung not targeting gamers, let me say that Samsung is just trying to defeat Apple and every other smartphone company with their own design (no notch, headphone jack, oled screen, dolby atmos stereo speakers, water resistance, small top and bottom bezels). Samsung and Razer both think that their designs are great and better than Apple's iPhones.
Owner of the original Razer phone chiming in. The new phone definitely has made some improvements. I do like that it now has water resistance, a better vibration motor, and wireless charging, but I was really hoping for a bit more on the power side. Sure, they've put a snapdragon 845 in it, but I believe that they should've made the phone just a tad thicker and added some of the following: 4500mAh+ battery Some more interesting back rgb Better cooling Better speakers And a headphone jack. If I were to choose between buying the original Razer phone or the second one right now, it'd be a toss up. I really like the aluminum back of mine because it stays cool and is less prone to shattering. Razer made improvements, but they don't warrant much over the old. Really disappointed, but excited to see what will come in about 3 years.
For most people in developed countries, $800 is affordable to purchase a phone. Most people don't even pay it in 1 go anyway. About 35-50 per month for 2 years 🤷 Most people also think about the now anyway.
According to financial advisors, you should be debt free and minimizing your monthly payments at all costs as well as saving 15 percent of your income for retirement. Technically you shouldn't be making monthly payments on a phone so that 35 to 50 bucks a month goes a long way. Like you said though, people are focused on the present moment.
I bought mine (matte version) late in 2019 and it's still working fine. The battery is starting to suck hind tit and it's stuck on android ver 9, but I mostly use it as an MP3 player and a cycling GPS now. I really liked the form factor. Being able to hold my phone without my fingers obstructing the screen and the surprisingly loud and clear speakers made watching movies and gaming on this phone super easy to get into. I'd be on board if any company made another media focused phone. In the mean time, curved screens, waterfall edges & false touches just holding your phone are just part of daily life. PS: whomever thought of the bixby button should be drawn & quartered. 🤪
very few phones left without a notch, had a OnePlus 6 and hated the notch, so i just got myself the pixel 2xl and man what an awesome phone, best phone out there in my opinion.
Well, people were talking about how the RP2 would blow the ROGP out of the water, and that the ROGP shouldn't have been unveiled so early. Meh, the RP2 is still worse.
Still no headphone jack and now glass back? I was really hoping for this to be a dope 16:9 phone but it seems i'm out of luck. The last 2 years felt dry for me. Oh well i still got my trusty old daily driver. At this point i'm considering buying the same phone again.
They have done that cause there are no more space. And the dongle is actually better than a headphone jack. If you think they have done that on purpouse your wrong. If the have put a headphone jack they will have to sacrifice some commponents Ex. Great Speakers and cut the battery. To me i like the new wireless charging and would love to buy but i have no money so yeah ._.
I'm at the same wagon, still rocking my OP3 and not a single phone in this last 2 years convinces me for a change. If it wasnt for 2 o 3 devices that could be "daily driver material", i would buy another OP3 or a OP3T.
Question about the headphone jack. Why doesn’t Apple just put the headphone jack at the top of the phone? I mean, they did it before, and it doesn’t hurt the speaker quality.
Apple's reason is they get 5$ for every pair lightning headphones that a different company makes (they are greedy m'fu'ers). Razercs reason is they have huge battery and huge speakers and huge heat sync (actual good reasons).
Thank God, no notch and round corners crap...it looks much better than all those Apple clones on the market. And yes, I'd rather have 2 front-facing speakers than tiny bezel. They should have went with 1080p, IMO, that screen will devour the battery. Nice stuff like telephoto camera, water resistance, cool trick with notification logo...and then they fucked it all up with no headphone jack.
If this phone kept the back from last year and added the headphone jack plus the waterproofing this would have been the flagship to beat and a no brainer purchase
Non-disclosure agreement aka NDAs. Every product manufacturer has them. Cant say anything or release any information about that product until a certain date.
It’s actually amusing that we living an era where great smartphones gets released on monthly basis, and our main problem beside the price is the fact that we have many options. Oh, and we have mkdhb to help us choose the right phone for ourselves! It’s really great!!
Love them keeping the 16:9 ratio tired of all these phones getting so long and harder to reach tops of phones. Don't agree with still missing the headphone jack. So if I want no notch, 16:9, and a headphone jack is there anything left???? No??? Guess I will keep waiting for a truly revolutionary phone, maybe when 5g starts rolling out.
apparently according to the website the phone includes a 24-bit DAC over USB-C dongle for wired headphones. At least they include the solution in the box (unlike apple)
While I thought the 18 by 9 or 19 by 9 aspect ratio was going to be great it really isn't the optimization has gone absolutely horrible almost apps I've used and is only useful in terms of comfort and the way it looks
So I don't think we are gonna see anything crazy for 5G since, from what little googling I've done in the past and one random article that popped up for me a while ago, the tech is gonna be hard to use and require huge radio antennas (like the old days of the flip phones) we might see some shitty looking phones with huge humps on the back of them 🙃 hopefully all I read was dated and things look better but apparently 5G Is going to have issues traveling through walls and reflects off of many surface materials so who knows what we will get in the future, also you'll more than likely pay a premium to pretty much beta test 5G for the first couple years imo
one thing we can thank razer for is introducing the phone market to high refresh rate displays, they are now on basically every flagship except the iphone, but hey, hopegully this year we will get that

Any phone without a notch ... BEST PHONE EVER !!!!
Still have this phone in 2021..... still satisfied in 2021
Owner of the original Razer phone chiming in. The new phone definitely has made some improvements. I do like that it now has water resistance, a better vibration motor, and wireless charging, but I was really hoping for a bit more on the power side. Sure, they've put a snapdragon 845 in it, but I believe that they should've made the phone just a tad thicker and added some of the following:
4500mAh+ battery
Some more interesting back rgb
Better cooling
Better speakers
And a headphone jack.
I thought they had released two versions of the the Razer Phone 2 you get the option of the aluminum back or the glass
they did add better cooling
@@MaddMan621 no. Aluminum is better than glass for heat dissipation
@@ruinedlasagna true. but they added a "vapor chamber cooling system"

Time to sell my friend's kidney 😈😼
Seriously, screw all these expensive phones that hurt 90% or more of the consumers who buy them. I'd rather use that 800 and save for retirement.
Its on sale now so hope you can get ur friend a new kidney!
@@douglassmith6288 yeah but would you rather buy an iphone xr thats like 1200?
I bought mine (matte version) late in 2019 and it's still working fine. The battery is starting to suck hind tit and it's stuck on android ver 9, but I mostly use it as an MP3 player and a cycling GPS now. I really liked the form factor. Being able to hold my phone without my fingers obstructing the screen and the surprisingly loud and clear speakers made watching movies and gaming on this phone super easy to get into.
I'd be on board if any company made another media focused phone.
In the mean time, curved screens, waterfall edges & false touches just holding your phone are just part of daily life.

Still no headphone jack and now glass back? I was really hoping for this to be a dope 16:9 phone but it seems i'm out of luck. The last 2 years felt dry for me. Oh well i still got my trusty old daily driver. At this point i'm considering buying the same phone again.
Axon 7 or what's your daily driver?
They have done that cause there are no more space. And the dongle is actually better than a headphone jack. If you think they have done that on purpouse your wrong. If the have put a headphone jack they will have to sacrifice some commponents
Ex. Great Speakers and cut the battery. To me i like the new wireless charging and would love to buy but i have no money so yeah ._.
OnePlus 5T.
@@alejandrojimenez4277 actually it's OP3T. I admit it's not perfect but it's what made sense to me price and features wise at the time.
I'm at the same wagon, still rocking my OP3 and not a single phone in this last 2 years convinces me for a change. If it wasnt for 2 o 3 devices that could be "daily driver material", i would buy another OP3 or a OP3T.

Didnt realize it was missing the 3.5 jack until I filmed the unboxing video... oh well it makes up in other places!
Question about the headphone jack. Why doesn’t Apple just put the headphone jack at the top of the phone? I mean, they did it before, and it doesn’t hurt the speaker quality.
Wow! You figured it out! Apple hire this guy!
Apple's reason is they get 5$ for every pair lightning headphones that a different company makes (they are greedy m'fu'ers). Razercs reason is they have huge battery and huge speakers and huge heat sync (actual good reasons).
Samsung can have a phone with whole pen inside of it, have a headphone jack, and is waterproof. Apple? Haha no.
2018 and people are still complaining about audio jacks on a saturated market. You realize just how many phones still have a jack?

Thank God, no notch and round corners crap...it looks much better than all those Apple clones on the market. And yes, I'd rather have 2 front-facing speakers than tiny bezel.
They should have went with 1080p, IMO, that screen will devour the battery.
Nice stuff like telephoto camera, water resistance, cool trick with notification logo...and then they fucked it all up with no headphone jack.

If the camera is good then this could be a great flagship.
Denis Naumov Ha Ha 😂
apparently according to the website the phone includes a 24-bit DAC over USB-C dongle for wired headphones. At least they include the solution in the box (unlike apple)
Nokia 7.1
