I was deeply touched to see both Sandro and Simonetta come alive for just a moment. He is my favourite artist of all time! He not only captured her unique beauty and melancholy but also made his muse immortal through his art. I have been studying the Italian Renaissance, especially the history of Florence and the Medici family over the past few years and I’ve always wished to get a glimpse on how they possibly looked like in reality. So, thank you so much for making my wish come true and please keep up your great work!

@@antoniospano8006 Of course not. It was always a good idea for an aspiring artist to flatter Nobility. Especially a lady of whom other Nobles considered beautiful. It's like good politics, if the artist makes a lot if such people happy, that is really good for both his business and reputation. Think about it, he's still famous today, largely due to his depiction of this young lady as his "Venus".

These are great and I always enjoy watching them but you very often get the eyes wrong. You almost always go for a hooded lid when the original painting and/or sculpture will have protruding eyes with a noticeable crease in the lid. Such is the case with Botticelli. It's still very fine work, though. I'm just nitpicking because it could look more accurate with this one attention to detail, since the eyes are what we look at first on a person.

    Simonetta,
    por tu delicadeza
    la tarde se hace lágrima,
    funeral oración,
    música detenida.
    Simonetta Vespucci,
    tienes el alma frágil
    de virgen o de amante.
    Ya Judith despeinada
    o Venus húmeda
tienes el alma fina de mimbre
    y la asustada inocencia
    del soto de olivos.
    Simonetta Vespucci,
    por tus dos ojos verdes
    Sandro Boticelli
    te ha sacado del mar,
    y por tus trenzas largas
    y por tus largos muslos,
    Simonetta Vespucci
    que has nacido en Florencia.

I’m Italian. There’s a big mistake in your facial reconstruction of Simonetta ‘s. She was renowned for her beauty. But the best quality of it was the color of her hair: absolutely blond and not light brown. In particular, alt the time fair-haired people were extremely rare. in Italy. That added fascination to the beautiful, young lady. Lawrence the Magnificent baptized her as the Sans Pareil” the French for unparalleled.Last but not least, her eyes were blue as far as I know

I think red hair was more common in Europe back then, it's slowly being bred out due to recessive gene. In Tacitus' Germania he described the Germanic people as being "red haired" first and foremost. You don't see too many red haired Germans now...more so in the UK tbh. I also think red hair was always prized from an aesthetic perspective.

Would Botticelli himself be amazed to see his own likeness alive on the screen? And was La Bella Simonetta accurately brought back to life for another generation of admirers 500 years after her untimely passing? She was a cutie, I understand Botticelli's infatuation! Maybe she was his "naughty night lover" ??? Those arranged marriages were not exactly known to be happy ones all the time!
