Food for thought. I live in half moon bay. Easy to go suck my shrimp for perch or stripers, I think you’re on the right track. Thinking about an in ground tank, temp. perfect fresh sea water. Feed is next issue.

From seeing how a dozen Sandy's can be kept alive for a cpl few weeks in a styrofoam cup with some wood shavings of some kind kept in a cool fridge. And considering their natural habitats are more often on the hi/low tide line, which means they spend a considerable amount of their lives a above water and not at all submerged. In fact, when they're kept fully submerged all the time they become lethargic. Like the one you thought was dead that wasn't. They seem to be rejuvenated somehow by being Above the water for a period and kept wet/damp and cool

Great video. I pump sandshrimp on the Oregon Coast. They are tough bugs.

I've covered most of that. Please look at the other videos on the channel. They do well with commercial fish food & dried seaweed. They eat just about anything soft enough for them to chew on.

Is it the breakdown of the salts that changes the levels? How often do you test the water in your fish tank? This is fascinating stuff.

You mean the level of salinity or ammonia? Evaporation effects salinity and the amount of waste produced by the shrimp in relation to the effectiveness of the biological filter effects ammonia levels.

Give them at least 5 inches of sand so they can dig and stay alive longer🦐🦐🦐
