I got mine finished. It took a little longer than expected. The new radiator had holes for trans cooler lines and didn't come with plugs. The auto parts store also didn't have them so i went to the hardware store and got some 5/8 brass caps and thread tape. That solved the problem.
thanks for such a great video. I have to have a body shop do the repairs, cuz insurance, but at least I can argue that they can't charge me for removing the a/c condenser, and recovery/recharge of the a/c when it's not necessary. Why do unnecessary work!
Full the system and leave the rad cap loose. Then run the vehicle and add fluid as it goes down. Occasionally bumping the vehicle can help dislodge stuck air pockets. Or you can squeeze the upper radiator hose from time to time to help move air. Just be very careful not to get your hands near any moving parts and note that the hose will get hot.
@@Greenmanalishe1 the only petcock on these is at the bottom. All of the air will run to the top. There is a small return hose that runs from the radiator to the coolant tank. It helps bleed the air out while it is running.

Incredibly helpful and informative!
My next job. Where did you purchase your radiator? I’ve seen them for $80-$200.
I used an eBay vendor. Look at total reviews to determine who has good quality.
@@YourCarGuyDR think I may use RockAuto, around $80, has a 2 year warranty. Thanks for your reply!
@@davekana8388 that should work fine.
@@YourCarGuyDR the original one with plastic tanks lasted 19 years, thanks!
Thanks for you time
Great video!!! Where did you get the radiator part
autumn nelson I usually use Amazon or EBay.
So once complete putting the rad back in please explain best way to feel up with coolant so no air pockets?

@@YourCarGuyDR one guy said use the petcock on the hose to let air out?

Do the transmission lines not run through the radiator on these?
The transmission cooler is separate. It is the small black cooler in front of the a/c condenser at the bottom.
Sir thank you kindly being disablebyour video was right on
You just save me about 200 bucks!
