If you will do a HCY live later, maybe you could reserve songs like Fake Monk or Child for the live show. I know these songs are requested a lot, and they are fr**king masterpieces of great rearrangements… but imo HCYs own compositions deserves Much more attention … after all he is no cover singer. (In Singer 18 the artists could only do 2 of their own songs.) HCY is a composer who sings.

This arrangement demonstrates the hardness of the rap with the softness of the tai chi classical inserts. His MARS concerts are great too, unique and different styles of expression for sure in any composition and performance!

Hua Chenyu loves choirs too 🙂In his latest album he uses a lot of them and even sings himself the more than 100 voices of the choir of Illusion and Reality - another wonderful song of his. I simply love Hua's songs! They are so different from everything I've heard before! Thank you for the reaction, please check some more of his songs!
I suggest "Fake monk".My favourite one.
Most Hua Hua fans won't have this as their favourite performance. It is just such a fun way to introduce some of the genres he sings. Yes, the whole Singer 2018 series was about his life. Perhaps listen to something totally different... "I am what I am". Another facet. He is a Rocker at heart, having listened to Muse, Radiohead, Linkin Park growing up. He has stunning Rock, Rap songs, but "I am what I am" shows the vulnerability and says to the public "accept me for who I am"... foibles and all. It is a song written by his personal idol. So, he tends to stay true to it out of respect to his late hero.

@@peggy_tan I must say I have so enough of this "follow the order of his Singer 2018 performances", it will take a reactor about 12 months to react to the 12 Singer performances from 2018 and 10 of them are rearranged covers... What about all of HuaHua's huge catalog of his own beautiful music? We're in 2023, light years away from 2018 music wise, HuaHua has released his 4th and 5th allbum since 2018, why not intersperce Hua's own songs, old songs, new songs, Singer 2018 recommendations instead of this follow Singer 2018 stuff? Why keep HuaHua forever tightly closed in this tiny Singer 2018 box?
@@pattypetronillemartin2608 Peggy was trying to offer HER view of how to best get to know Hua Hua. HE put them in order so fans could get to know his life arc. Its a great concept. I, personally think he has much better performances, before and, since then, but those performances I prefer, are over multiple shows and concerts. And would simply be MY suggestions. Singer 2018 offers an easy arc of his life, in one place, and they are all very good performances (if not his best..although some might disagree with that). Your preference will be different from mine because I like some of his oldest songs. Nunchucks is nowhere near my favourite performance, but Reactors seem to like it. It's gauging.... what Reactors would find interesting. Not what WE like. So, I have no issue with Peggy offering HER suggestions. Just as I'd have no issues with YOUR suggestions. All we can do is try to offer Reactors what we think THEY may find helpful.
@@gogglebox2427 I replied to Peggy because I don't think there's a point in you and me discussing our views since they differ so much. You have already given me this paragraph in the past and I've always disagreed. I'll say that first of all, reactors are not interested in Hua's "arc of life" but in his performances. Secondly, keeping Hua forever closed in the Singer 2018 box when reactors keep reacting to other artists new creations is unfair, specially as Hua is a prolific composer/all around artist whereas other artists are mostly just singers. And thirdly, you don't know what Peggy, or reactors or me think or like, and most of the time I find your gauging off. Finally I hope you can understand this is my own point of view even if I didn't use all capital words.

Nunchucks is really a cross-section of his talent for arranging pieces intelligently.
I love his own compositions especially "Madhouse" and "Salt of the Earth".
Every piece is very different and his performances are definitely a journey.

Thank you for reacting to HuaHua again. 🤩 He rearranged this song in this amazing way. The original is a pure rap song. The arrangement of the music fitts the lyrics of the song so well. Hua Chenyu doesn't always use the "right" vocal techniques that is true. But he is aware of it. It is important for him to get the feeling across he wants to convey. And sometimes he feels he can't convey the right feeling by using the correct vocal technique. He once said to one of his vocal coach (professor) at the music conservatory where he studied music. If he is not allowed to sing the way he feels is the best to convey the emotion and instead have to sing like the textbook says (which less emotion). He will quit singing. 😅 He was in his early 20ties then. If you will watch more of his performances you will see and hear he has improved a lot over the years and I am sure he could always sing the correct way if he wants to. But sometimes he simply choose not to do it. Please react to Ashes from fireworks, Jackdaw Boy, Seven Personalities. Or one of his newest ones like When the whole world forgets me. ☺️
I love it! I always say practice perfection to perfect recklessness! I love that he uses his emotion in his vocal. I don’t mean to criticize him directly but more just warn young singers who aren’t as experienced as he is! ☺️
@@carlosgsantiago Yes, that is a good thing. To make young singers aware of it. So they take care of their voices and can sing for a long time. ☺️ Hope Hua Hua will take care of his voice too.
I would love to hear a reaction to When the whole….. , but since its only black screen studio audio……i havent dared to.But if theres one song that works without visuals its this one… it gives the listener full freedom to create own images and feel the emotions stronger. With the benefit of no copyright issues. @Carlos Santiago
I also love choirs. The backing vocals on "Singer" are spectacular. They deserve a big round of applause. You need to know that in some performances, Hua himself trains backing vocals. If they don't satisfy him, he records his own vocals and inserts them into the songs. This is for example the case of "Bullfighting", one of the best songs composed by Hua. Thank you, hope for more reactions

@@vijandrav.6095Illusion and Reality is number 1 in my TOP. Absolutely extraordinary. However, we still only have the MV from the Hua Chenyu Eng Subs channel. So I don't know if we should recommend it yet without a HuaHua MV. I mean, I'm biting my nails not to recommend 😂😂

As I mentioned in your first video, most people need to begin with Nunchucks to experience his diversity and how he engages his audience with his stage theatrics. The next song I always recommend after Nunchucks is FAKE MONK. He takes you on the next step of the journey of Hua Hua. It is a masterpiece that is so opposite of what you just watched. Hey Carlos, glad to see another reaction from you to Hua Chenyu. I always enjoy the analysis and opinions of professionals in the industry and I plan to check out some or your own music. It was interesting that you commented on the curled tongue. He is well-known having been teased by his fans and criticized by what you might call the anti-fans for such idiosyncrasies, but his response, in an early interview was that he made a decision early on during his period of formal study that if he was forced to follow all the conventions of music, he would cease to love it anymore. What I think he meant is that he does what he has to do to get the sound that he wants and if that means twisting the tongue or bending the rules, so be it. Furthermore, the sound always has a purpose, it is meant to communicate something fundamental to the listener. He does not write cute little love songs or 'she done me wrong' songs, but about the relationship between him/us and the world, the environment, other people, human struggles, mental health. What is most important and one of the things that I love about this singer/artist is the relationship between himself and his audience. Please listen to some of his own compositions, like Seven Personalities, Black and White Artist, New World. One of my personal favorites is a song he wrote to encourage people during Covid, You Have to Believe.

Thank you.. if you want to stick with the Singer 2018 theme… i recommend Qi Tian and I Dont Care .. his own songs. Then maybe Mountain and sea or Flammable and Explosive. Last one can be tricky coz of copyright, but worth a try. I also recommended songs last week so im not going to add too much to that list.
Yes, I think it is a good idea to continue the Singer 2018 performances for now. Agree on the songs you mentioned though "Fake Monk" is also worth listening to.

@@pattypetronillemartin2608 my suggestions was merely based on the reactors first impressions. He already listened to one of the new songs and then listened to an old song. I find that some need to warm up to Hua Hua through Singer 2018, so that is why I suggested those performances. I too love his new and original music, but I went through the whole journey of getting to know Hua Hua through his early stuff. Unfortunately some people need to take that journey too despite the newer stuff that we listen to now. ❤
@@mainissen1836 There's this running comment that reactors need to follow the Singer 2018 performances before going on with his other stuff, but it's just an old comment that should be left out nowadays, it stems from the fact that older reactors have discovered HuaHua after Dimash, so they have all reacted to the Singer's episodes as they were released. I really don't see why it should matter to new reactors who are discovering HuaHua in 2023 to start with Singer 2018 rather than with his newer stuff, or with his older songs or with his rearranged covers...

However, this particular reactor on whose reaction we are posting, seems to me to respond better to "Nunchucks" rather than "Flightmode", that is why I am suggesting more performances from the Singer. Reaktors are different and I am just suggesting what I think a particular reactor might prefer.
