As a proud Ugandan, I congratulate my brother Cheptegei for raising the pearl of Africa's flag soooooo high, back home we love you to the moon and back

"It's about using setbacks and challenges to shape your way towards your dream. Never get tired of working out your best, never get tired of that dream." - Joshua Cheptegei
I think it was fitting for the final question to end with cheptegei’s perspective on the mental aspect of his accomplishments. He seemed very stressed about the constant pressure to succeed so I’m happy he was able to decide where he would end his track career. The roads is a natural progression but I’m glad he can find solace in the likes of his countrymen carrying his legacy of greatness
Congratulations to B. Aregawi who came from behind andb had to bypass so many sprinters to make it to second place in the last 30 metres of the race. He was running like a superman
Viva Viva Uganda, Congratulations guys, Cheptegei we shall miss your strong and hard work, motivation, i really wanted J Kiplimo to be behind ur back, kindly let him know some of ur tactics, to keep the flag high 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations Cheptegei... I was at Kololo, Kampala when you struggled to finish the race at the World Cross Country Championship in 2017 & to me it was only just one bad day at the office, since your body of work then already said you were destined for greatness... And greatness you have attained, and then some... Congratulations again and many thanks for making Ugandans proud to share the same air with you... All the best in your next chapter in racing...
Joshua, let it be said that your obviously sincere support for the upcoming athletes is a sign of a gentleman, and a high emotional intellect. For that you deserve respect, and there should be a gold medal for that too. Bravo.
@@mugenyiassad1699 I think he's a few months younger but as joshua said, he's done it for 10 years and it takes a toil whilst grant has done it for 6-7 years and this is his first medal, so there's still motivation for him unlike joshua.
He ain’t retiring, he is leaving track and field and moving to the road races. 10k on the road is totally different beast from 10k on track. The track isn’t challenging enough for him anymore.
@@josmo1842it’s not about the track not being challenging for him but moving to road from track is about age. Most elite runners tend to move to road races as they advance in age. This is because with time track becomes more challenging.
So well deserved. I kept telling my children that a pack of a dozen with 4 laps to go at Olympic record pace was something to remember-then Fisher takes bronze! Also love that this presser is longer than their race
Don't be stupid pls. He's not familiar with setting and interviews properly. Gold supposed to be his if there's a bit more distance we all know @@RomeDepaso
Joshua said it was like jogging to him. And I am a Ugandan who can’t jog for 10 min. 🥲🥲 Very proud of you Josh. I guess I need to to to Kapchorwa and train in the same tracks.
Congratulations!!! BTW, as I have watched their 10K race yesterday late afternoon, I have realized that Berihu Aregawi has the potential to be the king of 5k and 10k race very soon.
Joshua has learnt many lessons over time he is a class above with a reading mind that others should listen well to emulate next time for the ending with this title in the category.
Ugandan Proud Joshua 🥳🥳🍾🏃🏃🎊🎊!!! BIG Congratulations 🎊🎈🍾🎉 to him !!! Congratulations to all the Runners 🏃; they all did great 💯💯. They ALL looked like A band of hand working brothers on that track !!! So fun to watch 🤩🤩

good on ugandans on wining the gold medal and not letting it out of eastafrica and africa as a whole, berehe in the last acceleration with a bit of group work which him being the golden boy rather than a team player he could achieve gold and a better record !! all in all we are proud of u berhe for fighting till the end and bringing a medal home !!
Bro why is cheptegei talking like he’s a 40 year old man leaving the sport to the next generation and moving on. He’s 27 and the same age as grant fisher sitting next to him LMAOO
His peak form has ruined by a string injuries which has affected his track career and he has done it all I think he is looking for something that can make him more hungry for success in his career
Lol yeah he said "it's good to see these young guys coming up" referring to Grant when they're the exact same age. I like him, though, he seems like a nice guy.
Joshua was a junior when he won in Eugen in 2014 (17yrs old) then transitioned to be a professional. I remember him winning Carlsbad 5000m back in 2016😂 The schedule of a travelling and racing for 10years is something!! As Grant Fisher started his career with BTC in 2019 and not racing that much! It’s not the same league😉
Cheptegei has done so much on the track it makes sense he's ready to move on to the road. He would be deadly in the half marathon. Right now the full marathon is a little out of his lane. But he could develop his marathon strength too. These guys need to change their body once they switch to the roads. Less muscle & more long distance endurance is needed.
Grant Fisher is a stand up guy and is becoming one of the best all-time distance runners and racers. The U.S couldn't ask for a better runner to represent the entire country in the 10K. Truly well-earned!
