    Why a woman as Prince Charming.....one thing is diversity, but this is theater and it's stupid....what's next, Othello by a woman?....and with all the amazing younger male singers......the first opera I will pass in many years (and I'm gay)!

      Because it's written for a dramatic soprano by the composer blame Massenet for that.

      ikr im sort of confused on Massenet for writing it this way i really wish it was a tenor
